Okay, forgive me if this has been brought up before and all, but I sincerely hope we see at least some mention of this weapon. It seems strange to me that it managed to so captivate me ever since that minor Epilogue text in Awakening about this (supposedly) sentient weapon, but I truly hope it's achievable (since it was so customizable.) and was a lot of fun to use in the actual expansion. This may be a bit obscure to some of you, but if it is in this game then I hope it would be a bit like the Widowmaker from the isle of Ulthuan in the Warhammer Fantasy IP from Games Workshop, i.e., it had no set appearance but changed as per who it wished to use it (for example; to a kingly character it might appear as a Scepter, to a ruthless warrior, maybe a gigantic battleaxe) or maybe it really is just a colossally bad ass Greatsword (or longsword...)

Or Starfang.

Since there's a crafting system, I'll just make a weapon better than Vigilance.  In fact, I think I'll name it "Better Than Vigilance."

http://dragonage.wik..._(Dragon_Age_II) it was supposed to be in he second game, but it was cut. I think the whole Vigilance legend was quietly discarded.

@Master Warder Z:  With a crafting system that specifically concentrates on the materials you put into the item... I don't think it totally unreasonable to expect at least one piece of star metal available in DA:I.  I would wager quite a bit of it will be able to be found throughout your travels.

Star metal armor!

Would kind of take the 'cool' off Starmetal if it was more common than Dragonbone (which is the best crafting material in Thedas according to the lore, apart from Starmetal apparently).

Although to be honest I'd be ok if we just forgot star metal even existed and ignored it in DAI. There is literally no difference between a hunk of Iron in outer space and one buried beneath the earth, so it shouldn't really have special properties.

The epilogue slides specifically state the Warden Commander loses it. It is stole by Crows I believe, then changes hands.

Since I saw my Warden go through the Eluvian with it on his back, I'm generally of the opinion that the "stolen Vigilance" is another sword made by Wade, or some other sword entirely with the name attached to it for "but I  have the sword of the Hero Of Ferelden!" value.  That way it works for everyone!

...except the guy with the fake Hero sword.  Sucker.

You deserve an award and now I have to make a sword named "Better Than "Better Than Vigilance"

Note: All epilogue slides are regarded as heresay. Even the one claiming Vigilance was stolen.

I'm jumping on the "Better than Vigilance" bandwagon. I'm gonna call mine Vigilance 2.0

What makes you think starmetal is iron? Or that DA physics work like real physics?

I'm going to have to make an axe and call it Axcellence. Or maybe Axcalibur. Dual wield axes please.

What I want back is Fadeshear. I mean you have this invasion of denizens from the Fade, so you'd want the weapon specifically designed to fight them.

Isn't that a romance every enemy in the game experiences when you wield it?  Kind of odd that you would want to experience that.

I'd rather Yusaris make a comeback. The hilt was ugly as all Hell, but it had an awesome back story.
