Hey guys, hope you're having a nice day and really sorry if this was posted before.

Okay, here's the thing:

In one of the promotional videos for inquisition it was told that players will have the chance to choose between 200 abilities ( 200 abilities overall for all classes + specializations ) which sounds nice, but after further thinking I concluded that maybe there should be more.

In origins for instance: mages had access to 84 abilites (overall plus specializations) and in awakening they could have 100.
warriors had access to 72 abilities, awakening 100.
rogues had access to 56 abilities, awakening 86.

And if you are thinking that a fair ammount of those was passive ... well granted, but so will inquisition also have passive ones and upgrades consume a whole talent point, i mean its an upgrade! logically it should take less.

Further on, one thing I noticed is how much they seem to be disecting and reducing abilities. In origins you had a primal school for mages right? 16 abilities... then in DA2 they divided them into fire+ice and lightning+earth... and in one of the inquisition videos they also seem to have disected that into fire alone, ice alone, and presumably earth alone and lightning...

like, seriously? I like the in depth school divisions but i will spend most of my leveling up now on upgrades...

And I wanted to suggest also race inclined abilities, like perhaps your race gives you a vertain prowess in dealing with combat but I understand how much thinking and time this could consume, I just derived it from seeing the iron bull charging in with his horns on the enemies.

A suggestion on upgrade system? well 1. either give us upgrade points upon leveling up along with an ability point.
                                                              2. make upgrades aquirable through actual use of the ability, either how many times its used or of it's used                                                                   in a smart way. ex: used winter's grasp 50 times for upgrade or use winter's grasp strategically a certain                                                                    number of times.

I wish to see actual change in the way the ability looks if upgrades are purchased too... like fire just seems more intense or a sword slashes around harder or the animation is more fluent perhaps ( in the case of the rogue).

welp! i hope u agree guys! share your thoughts.

I hope am speaking for others as well, I know that it might be late to change those things or add to them, I just wanted to share my opinion. Sorry about the long post and thanks guys! :P

there's a game called aarklash legacy, $15 on steam.

comparatively low budget, as you can see.

fud{ing 200+ abilities and upgrades combined

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

number of skills usually isn't the issue, imbalance is.

you have skills such as blood wound, and then ARCANE @%#ing missile.

shield-and-sword sustain that gives +25% front dmg resist and +50% back dmg resist when upgraded, and the  of of the tree is equivalent to part of a trinket.

Right, i understand the whole imbalance issue, but restraining u to "popular" spells and abilities just limits the game's access to it's lore, not necessarily as a rogue or warrior, but the mage suffers the most. and when it comes to passive abilities or sustained abilities which let's face it " too many o' those ", it just makes leveling up seem so dull, like where is the reaction? the jumping and kicking if all u do is just change your stance, snort and look cross-eyed at an opponent gaining a 20 % boost to speed.... like yea... so what?

I am not saying there shouldn't be a passive or sustained ability... but make it noticeable, graphic...

and the whole upgrade business like... a whole level up for making things a bit more affective...
