I'm about to finish my latest playthrough any moment and not knowing what to do next I decided to write a few things I'd like to see in the upcoming  expansion. The forums are the only reason I haven't given up interest in this game yet, so I'd like to stay hyped for this. :P

Now before I start criticizing everything let me tell you that I love this game as it is. Basically I'm trying to compile a list with ideas that (hopefully)  are not unreasonable. Small things and whim for the most part. Feel free to add your own ideas.

Spoilers from this point on.

My Character:

- Firstly, I would like to have the option to retire my PC if I didn't sacrifice him. Seems silly to have your character loafing somewhere in Ferelden and some french dude replacing you, but in some endings(which I happened to pick in some playthroughs) it feels right. For example, if my Warden traveled with Sten to his homeland then I would prefer to get the option to just let him there. Or maybe I decided to follow Morrigan. You get the point. Basically use  your head.

- I want to see the statue of the Warden who killed the Archdemon B)

- An option to change my appearence to add a bit to the roleplaying feeling. Nothing spectacular, just changes to hairstyle and facial hair to remind my self that time has passed and things have changed. My character fell in love with Morrigan and in the end she dump him with his unborn child. I wanna give him a beard and some messed up hair to make him look like a miserable drunkard. It's a fetish I have with RPGs.

- Sex scene with Anora if you married her. Pleeaasseee. You know you hate her, but for some reason you just wanna bang her.

- I want my decisions in DAO to be recognized. Other Grey Wardens questioning(and being suspicious) of how you survived if you did the ritual. Or people asking you about Alistair/Loghain if they died at the end. Gheyna claiming to be the mother of your child. Okay not really... forget the Gheyna part.

- The ability to conscript new Grey Wardens. Because I can.

Old companions

*Cries* Please don't forget them Bioware... A few cameos would be nice. I'd be cool to go to my buddy Alistair and tell him "time for juicy gossip" and learn  what everyone is doing. I might just call him an idiot for old times sake.

- Cameos with your romance, if you stayed with him/her at the end. A promise that you'll be back or something. Example: Game loads up, you wake up next to your lovely Leliana who was watching your eyelashes while you were sleeping. The king/queen calls you and you're off to kill some Darkspawn. Don't forget to say goodbye to Schmooples and feed him on your way out.

New companions

- Banter

- Romance. I'm the Grey Warden commander and the hero of Ferelden, I deserve some love damnit. I would also like to see some conflict if you had a romance in Origins. Something to make you say: "this is wrong" but you go ahead and do it anyway.

- More Banter

- Personal Quests and hopefully the option to change the personality of some characters(or harden if you prefer).

- Even more banter

- If they're anything close to the original ones I'm happy. I just hope no one pulls a Morrigan on me, I'll kill him/her this time... I swear.

Gameplay/Others

- Deathblows are amazing. I want moar!

- No ridiculously overpowered spells for mages. They have enough as it is. Maybe a spell that makes your mage robes not look so stupid.

- Better kills in cut-scenes. I paid 140+ damn sovereigns for the Rose's thorn(dagger) and my char is killing people with the butter knife of doom he had stashed in his belt. Cut-scenes seem even more lame if you're a mage. Why would a powerful Blood Mage specialized in fire spells have a knife hidden in his(lame) robes, eh?

- More armor with more textures. Anything not named massive armor from a DLC looks pretty much the same.

- Robes that actually look good.

- A female character that walks and looks like... a woman

- Most importantly I want this game out in March 16. No gay last minute delays Bioware.

That's pretty much it really. Until I come up with more. :P

EDIT:

I will also like to see what people give me for rewards. You see the "items received" message and you have no idea what you just got. You have to scroll through 100+ items to find out.

Most of those seem pretty resonable, although the bit about sex with Anora was kind of disturbing. The only place I disagree with you is on female movement. I'll be all kinds of pissed if my female warrior starts shaking her booty. She's a soldier and should carry herself like one. It's bad enough that she minces. I've actually thought about making a mod to give female warriors the male gait, but first I need to know a lot more about the toolkit.

I would like to see companions interact more in conversations. I think it just seems weird to have 3 people following the PC and when you get in a conversation with an NPC they don't say anything.

That's very true. I'd also like to see them instigate more conversations in camp, especially after distressing events.

As far as the running gait goes, I agree.  When I switch to Leliana to steal everything in site, I just want to pat her little head as I watch her gawky teenage knock-kneed trot.  However, the female walking gate is way too manly, perhaps grotesquely so, I mean the gals look like lurching, psuedo lesbo wannabes, BTW with hands that look like king crabs.

One improvement I WOULD like to see in the future is a thumbnail illustration (at least) of each item (weapons, armor and outfits mainly) you are browsing in stores or picking off as loot.  I can't tell you how many times I wanted to dress my girls up in what I thought might be cool looking stuff (most power-ups are really overrated IMO and only two things count in combat: fashion and dispersionImage IPB) only to find out it was complete s#!+.  After previewing the item on my characters and I find out it's pure pooh, I turn to sell it back and viola! I lose about 300% of the value of the item.
(I mean really we would actually see the item in a store or on the body of a fresh kill, so what the hell?)Image IPB

I'd like to be able to tweak my characters appearance. I know we'll be able to do stats, but making my character look a little more battleworn would be cool. He's been looking for Morrigan for 6 months, he hasn't had time to shave.

More variety in mage robes and light armour. Are there really only three possible patterns for mage robes? A mage costume of bathrobe and fuzzy bunny slippers would be funny. The light armour needs to have patterns and colours. An enamel or lacquer look would be really nifty.

At the risk of incurring geek wrath, a smaller bust size and slightly thicker arms would be nice for women characters, especially for fighters and rogues. Our characters lead active lives. Their bodies should reflect that.

Tabards could hide of lot of armour tailoring sins.

I'll echo the one about getting companions to interject into conversations more. They did it more than in Mass Effect, but still not nearly enough imo.

I'd also like some more variety in the weapons to go along with more variety in armor. Starfang was great, but most of the other weapons had the same model for their type, with the coloration varying based on the tier. Need more effects.
A Beard of Sorrow for those Wardens who romanced Morrigan would also be a nice touch. :P

The female walk and run needs to be vastly improved. It doesn't need to be 'shaking their booty' - ick. But they currently move like Conan the Barbarian with haemorrhoids. Why don't the people responsible sit down and look at an actual woman walk and run. Not a model or a hooker. Let's say a female athlete. So please, no 'booty' comments. I'm female - and straight - and I HATE the way my female characters move.

Better-looking mage robes - particularly female ones - would be a help. And light armours definitely need a lot more variety.

And more hair styles for pcs please - particularly ones that don't clip, even with elven ears. Sorry, but what we've got for variety is pathetic.

And the ability to change our appearance after character creation. Maybe a mage with transformation abilities as the ingame rationale. But it's so damn dark where you create them - and you can't see all of them at once from every angle. You get ingame and go - yikes!

New mage robes, definitely. And yes, change the female walk. The females look like they are swaggering to a showdown at the O.K. Corral.

Cameos for love interests would be nice, even if they ain't active in game. And maybe more face and tattoo/makeup customizations.

And a larger selection of skills to choose from. So that warriors and mages have things selected that suit their class.

I don't care about separate male-female walks, but would prefer the one they share to be more gender-neutral.  Some of my male characters aren't swaggering types either, particularly the mages.  And on the topic of mages and gender-neutrality... the female Tevinter-style robes are awful.  The male versions are nice, though, and I don't understand why they couldn't be used for BOTH sexes.

And I'd love there to be more than one possible recurring character, based on your epilogue.  Not likely, but a girl can dream!  ^_^

I, too, am female--and straight (although I really don't know what that has to do with it. ;), and I have pretty much the opposite reaction. I'm fine with the walk. It's a little agressive, but this is woman who became a warrior in a society where that's at least slightly unusual, and spends her days covered in blood, chopping things to bits. It seems suitable. The run is far too prissy. While I can't say that I feel strongly enough to hate it, I will if they make it even more...like it is. If you were to watch footage of female soldiers, I think you'd find that most of the time you can't tell the gender until the helmet comes off.

Glad to see people agree on some of my views. Especially with the robes and the female animation.

I will also like to see what people give me for rewards. You see the "items received" message and you have no idea what you just got. You have to scroll through 100+ items to find out... come on. Adding that to the list right now :P

It would be kind of ironic how you help Oghren sober up and in the end you end up a drunkard with a "sorrow-beard". Yes, yes, the more I think about it the more I want this feature =]

Would fit right in with the speculation that he's the returning member. Oghren shows up and tries to help you out with your girl problems. B)

Of course, this one might be more difficult to solve than going to Lake Calenhad and engaging in a bit of slap-slap-kiss.

Haven't played a mage yet and was okay with what Wynne was wearing, so I can't comment on the robes.

I think Bioware know they have an issue with getting proper movement animations because in both DAO and ME the walking motion is really funny, as if they all have massive behinds sticking out.

The running is somewhat more natural looking.

I definitely would not mind some clever interaction and options where your Warden *didn't* die, but still doesn't come back and that it's reflected in the story somehow. At least in passing mentions. Like, Alistair would say something like, "I was hoping he/she would be back by now...but no matter, you're here so we can get started" or something like, "You remind me of a certain world-saving Warden. I'm sure you'll meet him/her when he/she gets back from Par Vollen/Tevinter/wherever".

As for the cameo of the romance in DA:O and not joining you for DA:A, I think that'd be awesome. It was one of my wishlist items for DA 2 or whenever that we get a romance that isn't in your party. I think there's a lot of untapped potential there. We've always had stories of knights or superheroes doing their duty, with a love waiting patiently in the castle or in the apartment. We could even throw in stories where you have to decide between duty to the Wardens and duty to your love, either because they whined about you never being home, or that they're in danger. And, of course, a situation where you cheat on them or they on you and all that stuff.

Definitely more robe models and patterns. Same with light/medium armors. I'd love to see if it's possible to have the gloves show up on robes (at least mage specific ones?), and the footwear in certain models. I'd also love to see some robe sets; wear the robes, then the boots, the gloves, headgear...

Oh, headgear! While the full (closed) helmets look okay in certain cases, a lot of the helms unfortunately aren't very flattering. I'd say if BioWare is unwilling to or can't add a 'hide-helm' feature then at least give us more flattering headgear, like circlets/crowns/tiaras with magical properties.

The final thing I'd love to see would be more banter regarding certain romances. I got banter for female/Alistair, and male/Leliana, and male/Morrigan, but I didn't get any for female/Leliana (haven't done male/Zevran just yet). I mean, I got the talk from Alistair and Wynne in camp, but no banter outside camp for it.

Anyway, that's my wishlist. DA:A missing any or all of this won't keep me from getting and loving the expansion, though :) These are just flavorful icing on the cake :D
