During the prison break part of Origins, i think i remember hear one of the guards gossiping about both women, saying something along the lines of, "So did you hear the rumor about Ser Cauthrien." I don't know why I figured it had something to do with her and Anora, but considering that Loghain found Cauthrien and pretty much raised her himself, I assume her and Queen Anora are very close.
Was Anora and Cauthrien in a secret relationship?

That's quite a stretch with so little proof.

i think
If you're unsure of it then without proof instead of "I think", it's false.

People can be lifelong friends without wanting to sleep together.
Julien and Nicolas called. They said "LOL" and then hung up.

Sorry, I have no idea who those people are.

They don't necessary need to be lesbians to make an interesting diversion. Perhaps they both had an youthful thing for Cailan. Perhaps she was satisfying Loghain or maybe even Cailan. Just because lore doesn't say so doesn't mean it did not happen.

I'd suggest reading the Calling if you have a high threshold for pain.
My point is basically that Dragon Age doesn't do "bromances." You're either madly in love with them or you are basically co-workers.

Gotta hand it to Cauthrien, she and her guards gave me a harder fight than Flemeth and the Archdemon combined.
Toughest fight in Origins, to be sure. It's a bit humbling having your wrecking crew of a party troubled by a mere knight and her mooks. Nice sword to loot though. Has anyone ever surrendered to her? I never have, pride gets in the way.

Never. That's one of the best fights in DA:O and I always fight my way out. I have this thing about PCs winding up in prison, you see...
It's actually somewhat flattering that they would send that many soldiers to capture the four of us. ![]()

I hear you, I'm the same. I dread the inevitable 'lock up the party and take away the gear only to stash it all in the next room' trope in RPGs. At least the Tomb Raider reboot tried it differently; your enemies helped themselves to your gear (at least some of it) and you have to kill them individually to recover them.

The first time I played it on 360 I died so fast I thought it was a scripted event or something, lol.
Come to think of it, hardest fight in both games. Neither Meredith or the blob gave me much trouble.

I have once, to try out that Captured! sidequest and have Morrigan's Ring used in the plot. Normally I just kill her.

It's actually stupidly easy once your realize how scripted it is, and how easy it is to exploit.
Most of them don't follow you into the hall, so you can just keep pulling them into that room where the guard was getting a blowie and afterward just keep casting inferno/blizzard/tempest in the room, and they just stand there, dying.
Cauthrien still hits like a truck though.

Yeah once you figure it out, it's okay. Got Wynne to spam paralysis glyphs and Morrigan to do AOE attacks.
Actually one fight that was harder was the Corypheus(sp?) in the Legacy DLC IIRC.

In my playthrough, Cauthrien's survival can be attributed to two things: Zevran's max poison-making talent and Sten's fantastic delivery of "The irony is not lost on me" when he opens the cell with Morrigan at his side.

There is only the most minimal of subtexty subtext to support this. So it's unlikely to be true/canon. That being said I've shipped it so very hard since I first encountered these two ladies. It's certainly isn't impossible and I'd say it more likely unrequited love from Cauthrien to Anora mixed up with major emotions and feelings of loyalty towards Loghain. (And no Cauthrien and Loghain aren't more than what they appear, ewww!)

Some would say if it is not in lore it is not true. On the other hand I kind of like the idea that if its not in lore it may not be for the same reason other things are in lore. I prefer using my imagination for interesting twists and turns.
I agree, it is an RPG so for the most part I create my own lore/canon in my mind. So for all the hidden intricacies and nuances that are unsaid, I fill in the blanks.

Anora? I don't see it at all.
I actually always suspected that Cauthrien was probably in love with Loghain, which is what blinded her to his failings for so long. I don't think this necessarily means that she had or even wanted a romantic or physical relationship with him, just that she idolised the man to the point of unquestioning devotion.
It's no wonder then if you convince her to stand down at the Landsmeet and she begs the Warden to save him from himself, she sounds absolutely broken, as if her perfect image of the Hero of River Dane has been completely shattered before her.

That also happened in Awakening in the Wending Wood. Don't you remember? You had to kill 4 darkspawn to get back whatever each companion had equipped, and of course there was a chest with all your things near the Tal-Vashok merchant who I killed for helping the darkspawn.
