We do know the single companions, but not the married ones.

They haven't, actually. Which is why those of us waiting on pins and needles to hear about Blackwall, Solas, Viv, and Varric have about torn all our hair out lol

Yep. 2 Romance options still unknown. We know that one of them will not be an companion and one will be depending on what race you play as (witch is why many expect Varric since he only like Dwarven girls).

They said there won't be a secret companion in DAI.

I thought they only said that there wont be any DLC-companions?

As far as we know, we know all the companions.

(I'm super helpful!)

Sorry to be so pedantic, but if you don't want to know companions in advance, don't come to the forums and don't click on the companions on the website.   That way every companion will be a complete mystery to you.

We still don't know how we are going to encounter most of the companions and it has also been said that it will be possible to miss some of them totally.    Having somehow missed Leliana totally on my first run through of Origins because I went into it blind, I've taken the view that I at least want to know someone is out there to find.

I think there are also going to be some temporary companions that we may encounter with certain plot lines.  If this is the case, there will still be some element of mystery.

True, but it is very hard to avoid things like that when it's in every trailer, every bit of news, on the Origin page and elsewhere. I'm not that upset, I just preferred the other games' style of revealing a few cool companions to sell the game, then you meet all of them yourselves.

Secret companion? Dog from DAO. If not, I would like Loghain.

This was discredited a long time ago

I guess we do, but I don't view it necessarily as a bad thing. I mean, if you didn't want to get spoiled, you could avoid BSN and the Character page on dragonage.com, and if you wanted, then why not? And I am glad for the information, becuase if I hadn't know all the companions in DA2, I would have totally missed Isabela during my first playthrought.

edit: typos.

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.

So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

DAO - Loghain

ME2 - Legion

ME3 - EDI

Well, they could stick Tallis back in as a secret companion. Perhaps as a special advisor to a Qunari Inquisitor?

I would enjoy a couple of secret/optional companions.  I like finding big game changing secrets.  Makes me think of Final Fantasy VII.

This is the first time we'll ever have the chance to have a full party of a particular class. potentially 4 mages, potentially, 4 warriors, potentially 4 rogues... im almost tempted to try such a group.

My mistake i forgot about Sebastian, in which case in DA2 you could play as 4 rogues.

I think we've seen them all.

Unless our Inquisitors stumble across a big ass boulder mumbling something about pigeons...

Yes please!!! I was somewhat surprised that she wasn't in DA:I as an companion since I was sure she would be and I really REALLY miss her! She is, without a doubt, one of my absolute favorite DA-characters! I get a little depressed after finishing Mark of the Assassin because I want to continue having her in my party. :(

Nope. Shale has been confirmed to not be in DA:I, as well as Zevran. I think they are the only ones confirmed by the devs not to be in the game though.

Well what about Shale's sister?

Slate.

I hear she hates Pigeons too...

Yes, I'm joking.
