It'd be great to be able to customize both characters in the Keep and then have them carry into the new game. I hope they do but if they decide to go with default that's OK too since one of my Hawkes was the default anyway! sort of off topic, I wonder what the Warden will sound like?
How do you think they will introduce re-creating our Hawke / Warden?

The Keep already asks us to set Hawke's, decisions, class, gender, romance options etc so why not let us decide what she'd look like too.
There are some leaked Keep screenshots floating around and one of the options was something like does Hawke look like how he did in the prologue. So maybe a creator pops up only if you don't choose that option?

Hopefully at the start or through the keep.

I'd like to have the option at the start. I would create and then get into the game and kinda forget about it until they show up, and I wouldn't be able to know exactly when that would be which is nice. My immersion would be killed a little if I was wandering into a mission and suddenly the CC loaded up.

I'd bet big money there isn't going to be a character creator in the middle of the game. If we get to fully customize them, then it will be at the same time as the Inquisitor. I don't know if we'll get a full character generator for Hawke and Warden though, Laidlaw only said they'd be twaekable, he didn't say we'd have full control of their appearance, it might end up being selecting from a list of 10 presets (per race/gender), or we might actually have to fully create 3 characters before even starting the game, which would be a bit of a pain, but is probably the best option anyway.

The Black Emporium allowed the CC experience mid-game, so there is precedent for it occurring that way.
My preference would be for it to be at the start of the game, after creating the Inquisitor, but before being thrown into the fade. However, if that doesn't work for them, then as long as we get the customisation, I'm good.

I think the whole idea of customizing Hawke's appearance beyond gender and class is a bad idea.
Why? Because it just destroys his/her appearance in the game completely in my opinion. It removes any kind of drama there could have been otherwise.
While I don't consider this to be a compelling reason at all, the solution is simple: choose to skip the detailed settings and simply select the default. There's no meaningful difference between doing that and setting the gender and class anyway.
In what way is forcing the default look any better? Whatever "drama" Hawke's role will have in the story will be immediately diminished for many players by the fact that he/she was Revan'd to oblivion.
