Hey guys!

Ok here's the thing: vivienne --> horns as a hat... --> no hair.

she looks weird and sorta demonic. I mean slap some purple paint on her, get her into bed and you got yourself a desire demon.

who knows what could be there under the hood...
is it a bald head?

is it bleach blond hair ?

is there a brain incased in a small bowl of water?

WHO KNOWS?!

so please guys at bioware, give that chick some respectful hair and less spiky hat styles. she's already called the lady of iron, no need to look like the iron bull... AND THANKS! :) :) :)

There have been multiple art pieces that showed that she is, indeed, bald.

I love her crazy fashion sense. She sounds like a blast to interact with.

well that sucks... with those big lips a bald hair would just make her look like a fish. notice all the female companions have extremely short hair. sara having the longest. so vivienne deserves some measurment of long lusterous hair that would make any man wanna lick her lampost in winter

PS: i hope she doesn't have a lampost.

Well too bad it isn't Bioware's job to make female characters in a way that would make you want to lick their lamposts in winter.

you know i was just kidding about the licking thing.... right? i just wanted someone to have long hair between the companions. plus she has this maleficient vibe going on, its just hard to see how she dresses and think she is a benevolent person.

There were always clipping issues with long hair in bioware games, so Bioware decided to give all characters short hair, no hair or hidden hair. My hope is, that there will be  some (long) hair mods, so the hair of the (female) characters will look less ugly.

oh cool, i have a habbit of avoiding mods cuz they usually break the game. am wondering also if the hair kinda moves and shakes around as you turn,,, okay i guess i understand now how long hair would be an issue if that happened but i guess if it was tied or braided perhaps? It just seems like blackwall has the longest. weird.

Yeah. I agree with you, They could have made good looking hairstyles without making the hair too long to create clipping issues. Like this for example:

I guess they were going for an african american shamanistic kinda look for her, but she is also a senior enchanter so something a bit more sedate would work. here's another example:

Viv isn't bald she shaves her head. Her choice. And it looks awesome. Cass looks awesome. Sera looks awesome. But thankfully, their hair, such as in Sera's case, was designed to influence and reflect her character, not strictly to appeal to the players aesthetic sensibilities.

Yea I understand that, but dragon age is also a game about diversity... I am not asking for a porno figure or a model here am asking for a bit of diversity and since cass has a hairstyle set in stone since DA2 and sera has a look that really is compatable with her personality it just leaves vivienne for a chance of change.

No,  I can't.

Vivienne's style is high Orlesian fashion. It's supposed to be extravagant and appropriate.

I don't see any connections between those two pictures besides the similar lips the two women share.

1) she is Orlesian
2) dragon age is not about hair cut diversity. While hair styles can reflect different cultures, it does not seem to be what you are asking for so much as for one you find more appealing personally. additionally, vivs hair already represents her, since again the hairstyles were chosen to reflect character.

The only similarity is that they're both black.

1) i get it, she's orlesian i am not talking about the clothing guys, the similarity in hair style hidden under the hat.

2) haircut is a form of diversity, longer hair is usually worn by women, men tend to have shorter hair, not a concrete rule but still. but i am not talking about that, i am talking about something that looks better than 3 short haired women ... 4 if you count leliana. I know that people in the middle ages, which is the age this game derives its basic essence , women commonly had longer hair ... yes it is a form of diversity ---> diversity means difference, variation. you have gays str8 bi's, black white, mages warriors rogues, brown eyes green eyes blue...  and short hair long hair...

Diversity is not about 'looking better than 3 short haired women'. Furthermore the diversity present in the cast of women as is is lot more importent then any made up hair length diversity. Sera is gay, Cass is a vaguely masculine presenting straight woman, and Viv is the first black woman we have had as a companion. Thats all real diversity. Furthermore you cant tell anyones gender by the length of their hair and bioware is a fantasy setting so whatever did or did not happen in the middle ages is irrelevent.

Judging from Theodosians we've seen in the past 2 Dragon Age game that's incorrect.

dude. I love that diversity... thanks for telling me sera is gay, was actually hoping to find that out for myself.. but whatever. diversity is about everything, sure. granted. but when will we see a character with long hair? you know other than witherfang's lady of the forest form, she had nice hair. but i see your point. better to focus on character personality than just hairstyles. still though... i doubt it takes a lot of time and i wish to see it somewhere in the future... maybe DA4??

Why does hiding you hair under a hat make you an African American shaman? I sometimes wear hats that cover my hair, but I don't commune with nature.

Unfortunately, OP, the game is too far along to change her hairstyle now. I think you better get used to her crazy hats!

Yeah. I agree with you, They could have made good looking hairstyles without making the hair too long to create clipping issues. Like this for example:
<snip>

Bad example. The reason why it will still create clipping issues is because companions won't always be wearing the same armor since you can equip them with different armor. In the Witcher 3 it is not very likely you can equip anyone but Geralt with different armor so it is easier on the developers to have longer hair on important NPCs.

i doubt it takes a lot of time and i wish to see it somewhere in the future... maybe DA4??

It actually does take a lot of time to deal with the clipping if a character can wear multiple different pieces of armor. At the same time the modelers are already likely to be focusing on important bugs which need to be fixed before the game is released. A modder can easily do something but that is because they don't have to worry about budgets and can focus on one particular thing which a developer often can't do without getting into serious financial trouble. There are many examples of developers who completely mismanaged their budgets and worked on trivial stuff and most of those developers went belly up. Remember All Points Bulletin? They had a really good CC with pretty much everything everyone has ever wanted but the rest of the game was a huge mess because most of the budget had been spent on the CC and too many managers.

WELP ... can't they at least get rid of her horned features? it's not really called for plus she looks very unsettling and her head will look just plain "demon desire-ish" or " maleficient-ish " sometimes. other than that thanks for clarifying stuff.
