...she survived the trilogy so why not bring her back as Squadmate? The most people like her.
It wouldn't be "Mass Effect" if there aren't even some of the old faces... like Liara, Miranda or Ash. Or get them as DLC later implented np.

No thanks, i adore Miranda but She's off with My Shep. I don't want to see any of Shep's cast of allies re-appearing in a new game. Set the game in the future and move on to a new set of stories.
I don't only mean Miranda, some old Squadmates would be fine too. Not the engine made the game, the people playing it and the people you are interacting with in the game.
I want to play the next Mass Effect and gotta say " Wow, this is really Mass Effect. " and not something kinda, they changed again everything o.o
No. I want new characters...

She got offed by Kai Leng in most of my playthroughs.
She's my favorite squadmate and for her not to be one in ME3 was messed up. If she is somehow put in the next game, very unlikely along with everyone else, then everyone should show up. I don't believe we will see anyone from the trilogy in the next game.
I'd rather not have any of the old crew back as I'd hate to choose which should die. That whole kaiden vs ashely thing was easy as I had only known so little about them. However I have learnt too much of the recent crew. Heck let Miranda go adopt some kid and live a life of peace. I would love to see pictures of them or hear about their recent activities. Like Miranda running a nicer and weaker Cerberus or Samara running as an Asari representative for the Citadel. Heck even just watching videos of Jack teaching future students how to use their biotics. That'd be nice but not have them directly involved in the game. Hate to see anymore of my peeps die. Never forget you Legion/Thane/Mordin/Fishies. :'(
Side question, in ME2 Miranda was looking to conceive but couldn't . Then was told she could adopt, what are chances of her actually settling down and adopting a kid?
Of the old squadmates she'd be a poor candidate to return as a squadmate in a sequel. She probably died in a large percentage of ME3 playthroughs because her survival in that game was both linked to her relationship status and whether or not she was warned about Kai Leng. I think if Bioware was going to ignore a potential death, it would probably only do it if that character died in a low percentage of playthroughs. I doubt that is the case with Miranda.
I think if Miranda returns it would be in a cameo rather than as a squadmate.
I didn't only meant Miranda, but some Squadmates were unable to die like Dr. Chackwas or Liara they had survived every Mission as example
However, then bring back my Robo Dog that is Walking around in the Shuttlebay I am sure he survived. Hehe

Chakwas can die in ME2.
Liara can die in low EMS playthrough of ME3. She probably survives the series more than Miranda or Chakwas, but still killable.
Outside of Refuse (which would not be carried over into a sequel) I think the only named characters on the Normandy that are guaranteed to survive are Joker, Adams, and Traynor. The door guards as well, but they are so minor I'm not really counting them.
That being said I wouldn't mind some companion characters from the Shepard trilogy returning. I think they might be better used in cameos though, rather than as returning squadmates. Some former squadmates might have their own responsibilities that would prevent them from joining the new protagonist as well. If it is set far enough into the future, Grunt might be Urdnot clan chief for example. Liara might still be the Shadow Broker. Kaidan and Ashley might be on Spectre business. Vega might be an N7 and in command of a ship of his own. Tali is on the Quarian Admiralty Board. Ect, Ect.
Of the former squadmates the ones they could probably get away with having join the new protagonist are Garrus and Javik, neither of whom had a job other than following Shepard around. Of course both are killable however, so having them return as squaddies would require some retconning.
Well I sure wouldn't mind having Miri along; but it probably would be a little difficult to fit her into the story... I guess if Me4 is a sidequel to the Shepard trilogy she can be around during the events of ME1 doing Cerberus stuff, and during 3 the game could tell the tale about how she was looking for her sis and fought Kai Leng (why was that not ME3 DLC??). If 4 is a sequel, it would be more difficult since the possibility has to be taken into account that she died at some point; she would have to be a character like Garrus in 3: a selectable squadmate but not a vital part of any story, or like Tali: a little bit part of the story but still replacable with someone else - which I guess would have to be Oriana... Would Oriana be able to kick ass in a fight??
But I think it's rather unlikely she will show up again... I mean I would LOVE having Grunt, Miri and Kasumi as team mates in ME4, but I better not get my hopes up...
I always love me some Miranda. As long as they can somehow effectively work her into the story, I say bring it on. But in reality I don't see this happening without it being too obvious a fan service. Which I get would basically be the point, but still...
If this new game lets the player go to any original trilogy locations then I think subtle head nods to the characters would be nice.
I agree with the opinion that they shouldn't make an appearance in the new game (trilogy). There time has passed and I'm sure since the original trilogy made an impact on all of us that Bioware will want to distance itself from it as much as possible, while still using the IP.
I have her die in my play throughs so I wouldn't mind because she'll never show up (if its a sequel) but lets not bring back the old crew. I would genuinely miss some of the characters but that's life.
In my trilogy playthrough - there can be no Miranda without a Shepard - if she lives at the Sanctuary in ME3 - it means Shep made pretty trustworthy choices and promises of Love.
The only way she can comeback is in a story which involves the Commander once more.
And that is unlikely.
We however can wish to see them as living idyllic lives in the next game - their records in some dossiers, video logs, communication arrays or in Archives - for most people wanting to see Miri back over here must have romanced her - so a save game import into the next ME may unlock these features.
Pretty awkward for folks who did not destroy the reapers and went ahead with the indoctrination policies of control and synthesis - coz in those cases Shepard is no more a physical existence and Miranda - if alive would be found with Oriana and her ex cerberus team mates living in gratitude.
Control and Synthesis are the worst endings - its Reaper indoctrinated Shep doing all that - and makes every beautiful story look harvested.
They are the only options for Shepards who dont have the big EMS due to losing squadmates and loyalty and low persuasive choices to forge galactic unity in single player mode.
She is one of my least favorite squadmates, so no
I have a feeling that the new ME will be set far enough in the future to allow some murkiness in the details of Shep's story. If there is any returning companions, which I highly doubt, I think we'll probably run into Liara and/or possibly Wrex, mainly due to their lifespans. I think that either Miranda is going to live out her days with Sheploo (with a high EMS Destroy ending) or she's going to live out her days with her sister.
I've read that there is hints that Miranda might not be able to have children, due to her genetic engineering. At least, if her Shadow Broker dossier was correct. If that isn't the case, if she's barren for other reasons, then it could be possible that her sister could have kids. We might have another Lawson in the party if that was the case, but I'd say that Miranda's days of adventuring are over.
I wouldn't mind having anyone or everyone from the crew back. But i'm especially fond of Garrus, and Mordin (we miss you!) - Garrus is da man. There is no arguing about it. If one character is about to make an appearance then Garrus should be the one. Wrex would be a likely candicate also, but i guess he'll be still busy repopulating Tuchanka.
I want new characters in the next game. I don't want the old guys but I want to see new characters that I can learn to come to know. that being said, they should be mentioned or maybe seen. Cameos are what I wouldn't mind, but I want a brand new squad and cast of characters to play with.
The thing with new casts is that there are always gonna be characters that sorta forfill the same role as previous ones, and any person may prefer this or that character from the older game or prefer the newer one. I for example like James better than Jacob (once I got used to him) but I find Traynor very annoying and I think she doesn't hold a candle to Kelly.
So what to do? Give the player the freedom to choose who to get aboard: like being able to choose between the doctors Chakwas and Michell. There's no reason (other than maybe Bioware lacking the time and resources) why we couldn't choose between Traynor or Kelly to be Shepards assistant. That would instantly make ME3 better for me. Instead when it comes to choosing squad mates the only choice one has is not taking Ashley or Kaidan on board... Yeah, like I would want the ME3 character selection to be even more limited...
So if ME4 was going to have an all new cast (which I don't think by the way, they mentioned that in addition to new things there would be familiar stuff as well) there is undoubtedly gonna be a young human woman squad mate: I'd say let the player choose between either the new character, or Ashley or Miranda or even Kasumi if they are still alive. Because why not? The power of Mass Effect I think lies in the ability to shape the story in the way the player prefers it and experiment with different setups in replays.
As I posted above, she is my favorite squadmate, but if the ME team were to use a default ME3 playthrough as canon, Miranda always dies, so she would never be in a sequel at all. She could be if an ME Keep is implemented like with DAI.
I don't believe there will be any reference made to the squadmates in the next game
Personally, I don't want any of the squadmates from the original trilogy to come back. I hope bioware instead spends time developing new and interesting characters for ME4.
A cameo or reference would be allright, but I don't want them back as squadmates.
I also hope they add a krogan to the squad this time. It was one of the things I missed in ME3.
One of the things I really liked about The Citadel DLC was Wrex.
