Am I, and the guys I play with, the rare few who truly appreciate this gun?!

How typical of me to find something most people don't enjoy and LOVE it.

I also probably use it in arguably the weirdest of combos right now:  My Turian Saboteur.  YEP.  Honestly, he only carries two grenades before Gear mods... so all those grenades on him need to count for something!

I love this gun.  Honestly can't say enough good things about it.

- in the right hands though.  First character I tried it with, I'm glad it was on a Silver map and I had a good pistol as my backup.  And that was with a Krogan!

I unlocked my Saboteur, basically in a fit of giggles (because I got him finally, even though I didn't really know his powers yet, always loved a Turian Engineer concept) I equipped the Piranha and the Striker on him.

I actually took the Piranha off now.  Mind you, I haven't given that shotgun its due, and I plan too.  Just this has become entirely dependable.  On GOLD too.  I've played plenty of Silver as well with "unknowns" and he survives really well.

And I can attest to the "issues" with the striker, and other problems I've had with either it, or my Turian Saboteur.  One time, I couldn't ever re-load... EVER.  Ammo Packs - gave me grenades, no gun ammo.  Ammo Crates - ZIP.   We were on Gold too.  It was terrible since it's the only gun I carry.  I became a grenade/sabotage spammer constantly sitting by an ammo crate :D  luckily we were fighting Geth on Turchanka, so it was doable.  I'm now paranoid to add the Magazine upgrade again, because that's when it did this.  She desperately needs it though.

I think that's the key though.  The team I work on with it, be it my primary three other guys, or the other friends I have, we all work with and support each other.  No joke, this character is incredibly low-scoring... about 50K on Gold.  However, me blasting away and then my buddy sniping the guys I got out of cover... that is what an Engineer is supposed to do right?

Basically, my grenades are "crutch."  I currently only have 4 of them with gear mods.  They're set for max armor damage.  And they work incredibly well in those crutch scenarios, especially with what little I have in Sabotage at the moment to swat away pesky bombers.

I decided to look up the Striker after playing tonight.  Saw the mixed reviews, and thought I'd give my two cents.  I LOVE it.

My team, with my turret, my grenades, my sabotage, and gunning this, LOVE it too.  It's saved a few of them on those "deliver/escort/etc" runs.  Yeah, it takes about a mag on Gold to rip through a Hunter on my own.  But...

A) I'm usually not alone
B ) I usually have at least one grenade still (I'm seriously more stingy than I think I should be)
C) Always have Sabotage at the ready.

I dunno.  Just for the "story" or "Character" I guess, this gun rocks with the Saboteur.  Ironic too.

A Turian Special Ops guy running around with a Krogan rifle

The Striker is an alright weapon. For me what kills it is it's ammo capacity and that it's a bit to heavy for use on some kits compared to the Falcon but mainly it's the ammo. I still rock it from time to time on the BF3 Soldier or Krosoldier.

Disclaimer: using the Striker too much could cause long term braindamage.

It's exceptional on the Destroyer.

Saboteur was made for the Lancer IMO.

Krosoldier Striker w/Incendiary ammo, carnage and inferno grenades is just a never ending barrage of fire explosions, screenshake and death.  It's pretty glorious.

The gun is amazing on TGI. If you cloak during firing, the damage buff will apply to all remaining shots. Equip Cryo rounds for more lulz.

Likewise, the krentinel with cryo ammo, incinerate, a few lift grenades and the omniblade.

I agree with these 2 statements. The Striker has a correct dps, and his stagger capabilities have its use. However, I tried this gun once in a platinum game and found it too weak for this difficulty, despite the fact that I was using the OP TGI. It's better suited for gold.

It works alright against Cerberus, and somewhat decently against Geth.  Probably best with Incendiary Ammo for glitching.

Ammo box glitch on Giant? Interesting, I never knew that.

I've had it happen on Dagger Hazard, but I thought that was the only map.

Not just an ammo box thing. Sometimes your weapon won't fill at all, even between waves or with thermal clip packs. I've had it happen a few times. Seems like it's just one of those weird bugs maybe caused by lag or bad connections.

I've had games with turians using the striker where things have gone just right and it's a monster gun, staggerville.  Then I use it next game and it disappoints.  I like to use it with the destroyer on platinum and then it is almost as if it is shooting missiles it is so good.......

Also one of the best sounding guns, boom...boom.....boom, boom, boom, boom

I have a Human Soldier only for this gun.

It is really devastating with AR and a level IV ammo power, but stability consumable is mandatory.

It's crap. Low DPS. Low clip size and spare ammo. High recoil. Ramp up. And, worst of all, it doesn't do it's job. I've had Phantoms walk straight through it and melee me. Anything it can do the Adas can do significantly better.

the Striker was second to my Phaeston at achieving it's "points challenge" in the game.  I'm very new, maybe been playing MP for just over a week.  However, I've played Mass Effect alot since 2008 so I was able to adjust quickly I think.

Alas, in that, I have almost no super-rare weapons.  No Harriers, no Lancers, no Particles... nada.  My pistols though, I'm doing rather well.  It's my Assault Rifles, Snipers, and SMGs I find lacking.  However, I do have a Widow and a Black Widow, along with a Raptor X, so those make up for the lack in Sniper department, for now.

On gold, I thoroughly enjoy blasting away mobs and doing crowd control with my engineers.  Everything is specc'd for crowd control except my grenades, which are for boss assistance.  I feel the Striker lends itself to this nicely.  I blast away, usually killing the mobs, and dropping the shields on the mid-class enemies.  Then I go to town with Sabotage and a Grenade if I have easy access to an ammo pack.

I also have 6 points in the turret, literally just as a distraction.

I hate the striker and the falcon. Maybe it's a sound thing. *shrug*

fml, there's no way to edit on here?

as for the Striker vs the Adas - to each their own.

I hate the Adas lol.  It doesn't have the crowd control.  Also, with the Turian's innate ability to control almost any gun with the proper mods, it works out.
I use the magazine V - so that takes care of the ammo issue.
I use stability V - that helps with the Turian's already good stability buffs.  (This is with my Saboteur, where I spec more for power damage rather than weapons)

Also, any time a Phantom comes near me, if it's really danger-close, I drop a turret to ****** them off a bit.  Or my SOP is hitting them with Sabotage to get them back.  Along with the booster packs for added mobility, it does fine, even on solo runs.  Then a nice Grenade drop takes care of them.

Out of all the "bosses" I think the Phantom is the most annoying though.  Their mobility tends to dodge most things I throw at them... except overload, energy drain, sabotage and my Striker.  I just wish my Turian Sentinel was Armiger Legion, it'd solve his mobility issues, but oh well.  Like the Krogan Warlord, he has a tough time with sync-kills.

And that's just it - I won't use the Striker with anyone except a Turian.  And now that it's got it's "challenge badge" thingy... only on my Saboteur.

It's hilariously fun on the bf3 soldier, but most of the time it's unusable off host because the grenades will just blow up in your face other than where you're aiming.
