Inspired by seeing a post with the phrase 'war table' in it.

I had a dream I was playing Inquisition. The fade was torn and a horde of Eldritch abominations threatened all of Thedas. They had come to purge the world of all mages and templars. Only the inquisitor could stop them, if only she could get to her modestly proportioned yet stealthy fortress in time.

Finally after fighting her way through waves of enemies that appeared out of thin air, she arrived and headed straight for the war table. Naturally en route she eavesdropped on a few random conversations among the peasants that also called the fortress home. One in particular was looking for a couple of nugs that he thought would be invaluable in the fight against the abominations. The inquisitor dispatched one of her trusty brooding companions to fetch them immediately.

But enough of these distractions, it was time to hunt down the Sword of McGuffin last seen in a cave whose layout seemed oddly familiar to our trusty Inquisitor from a previous endeavour. No matter, back to the fortress.

Unfortunately upon her return, a horde of mages in thrall to the Eldritch abominations had teleported in and stood in the hallways inside impenetrable bubbles for no reason. But our clever inquisitor was not so easily defeated. After explaining to the assembled hordes that teleportation was impossible, the mages acknowledged her superior intellect and knowledge of Dragon Age lore then promptly vanished in a puff of smoke that only those with modified lyrium glasses could see through.

The brooding companion was waiting for her by the war table when she finally arrived. 'Where are my nugs?' she asked, but Ser Emo did not have good news. 'Whilst carrying them back my Herald, both nugs disappeared from under my arms. Apparently they have been transformed into mere numbers on the war table, never to be seen again.'

Undaunted, our irrepressible Inquisitor made preparations for the final battle against the hordes of abominations with nothing but a huge number to guide her hand. Ser Emo, Sera Angry and Ser Gruff fought valiantly alongside her but all lost their lives when the Inquisitor suddenly found she could no longer control her own body. An enemy, known to all as Sera MarySue, someone she could easily have defeated in a fair fight, escaped to fulfill a future plot device of unknown provenance.

But all was not lost. A ghostly presence spoke to her from the fade, telling her to get up. It was time to make a choice. Three potion bottles sat before her each with a different coloured mist pouring from their unstoppered necks. The mysterious ghost whose presence had not been known of until now, told her to choose.

If she drank the blue potion, the war would be over and the abominations would help rebuild Thedas. Shades sweeping floors and doing laundry, that sort of thing.

Drink the red potion and anything connected to the fade would be destroyed, demons, abominations and sadly all mages. The ghost did not like that option.

Drink the green potion and all fade creatures and mortals would be joined into one big happy family of abominations.

I woke up in a cold sweat.

In case anyone is in any doubt, this is not meant to be taken seriously. M'kay.

There is no such thing as a new joke. Only an old joke with new people to laugh at it.

I'm pretty sure even the president of the united states knows about this joke by now. Let it go.

I had a weird dream last night that was actually a dream, and not an annoying dig at the ME3 ending. Basically, Patrick Weekes was the unlikely hero of the story, a young drunken monk turned knight or something. Sylvia was the sassy 'will they won't they' love interest, (they didn't which was disappointing), Sheryl and Brianne were the adorable fairy archers and Luke was the Howard Hughes towards the end wizard at a magical typewriter who sent them on the quest to defeat the Maleficent Gaider and (for some reason) Gaston Mary Kirby.

I was a little confused at first till I got to the potions..... Then I chuckled to myself and thought, "God, please no!"

Thankfully Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider would NEVER give us this type of ending! They would leave it completely on an epic cliffhanger rather than an unsatisfying and lore killing ending such as the aforemention "dream" B)

I had a dream that Alistair was in Inquisition, and he wanted to, uh, #ridethebull.

Had it been an X-rated dream, I would have at least understood what my subconscious was getting at. But no. There I was, with Alistair sincerely asking my Inquisitor if she thought he should try his luck, while I frantically tried to remember if he was meant to be married in this world state and whether or not I was romancing Iron Bull myself.

(No, there's no punchline. It's a real dream I had. I don't even know, you guys.)
