I want a skippable Tutorial with benefits for those who don't skip it. Kinda like in Vampire Masquerade where you get exp and a gun for completing it.

I also want it to run like Kingdom Hearts where your in a dream like world reminiscent to Mirror's Edge's dlc stuff. And past characters from ME1-Me3 train you. Jack/Samara/Kaiden/Miranda/Jacob teach you biotics while other characters teach you other things.

For Example;

Everything is dark, a voice asks your name. You answer. It asks if your a boy or a girl. You answer. It asks what you look like. Then it asks you basic questions on your history. Where were you born? Favourite activity? Favourite Music? Whose your daddy? The answers to these questions will affect how certain characters in the game treat you and your initial Paragon/Renegade score. High Paragon will get along with paragon trainers and not so much with Renegades.

 "Welcome 'Name' to the world of pokemon!".

Everything goes black.

You wake up in a large white area where different coloured infrastructures can be seen and Admiral Anderson is walking to you. He leads you to your first trainer while filling you in on the back story of ME. Surprise, surprise your first trainer is "Insert Squadmate".

After fulfilling their training requirements they give you some of their wisdom and walk you to your next trainer. After meeting all the trainers and testing out the basic vehicles, combat scenarios and puzzles they lead you to an alter. On the alter is shepard's gear and a voice asks you what power do you hold above all else (biotics/combat/tech). Since you have tested each power type you should by now know which suits you better. Then it asks you which power you give up. Finally it asks questions which will affect your characters physical stats from HP to damage output (Even speed).

If you skip the training/tutorial it will simply give you the ability to design your characters looks, history and class like in ME3. You only lose exp and an item or two which won't affect gameplay too much. Also I want a medal for completing the tutorial.

Thanks, the whole point is it's a dream like world and so it's not connected to the actual storyline. That way even if it's in another complete time frame, you can still have cameo appearances of the old squad. That and I really didn't like the tutorial from ME2 and Me3. Plus it would give you a chance to hear the squads views on how the world turned out if its after Me3. I'd like to know what Jack's thoughts are on the alliance or grunt's views on how tuchanka turned out.

Certainly sounds interesting, but I can't say it appeals to me. I think a good training section should relate to the story.

I'm curious as to what you didn't like about the ME2 and 3 trainers. I actually thought they fit in pretty well, in terms of introducing you to both the plot and the game mechanics.

I also think BW will steer a long, long way away from using the characters we know and love from the trilogy in ME4. They made it pretty clear that this will be a fresh start and I think it will annoy players to have these characters appear in a tutorial, only for it to be completely unrelated to the actual game.

Plus, dreams = Starchild in ME3. I don't think BW will want to remind everyone of the least popular element of the ME trilogy.

@Probe Away

It does relate to the story in that they will bring you up to speed on the current universe whilst training you. Giving you hints to what you will be facing, the dangers of the various worlds or even some of the cultural differences between races. I agree having old characters could confuse the story but once the player realises it was just a dream I'm sure they'll just dismiss any confusion it'd caused. Also I think many veterans would rather have cameo appearances of the old squad over the possibility of not seeing them at all. This way you get a cameo appearance without directly affecting the main storyline.

I didn't like ME2 as it seemed rush, I mean it only taught me how to shoot, duck and fire one power. It also made me heal a traitors leg and shoot some more.

ME3 was longer  and nicer as it was outside but it still felt rushed. It wasn't more training but survival and fast paced action. If you play Vampire Masquerade the Bloodlines you will notice, that even thought the tutorial is during a shoot out, they train you in using each of your powers, shooting, melee fighting, lock picking, hacking, problem solving and even conversations.

If it seems like I keep mentioning that vampire game is because I think its a very good rpg that had many of qualities I liked which I wish ME could incorporate. I am not telling you to play the game, I'm just referencing it.

I still don't think that relates to the story itself. I wouldn't have an issue if it was entirely optional (eg in the main menu screen you choose 'tutorial' instead of 'new game') and they still had basic on-screen tips early in the game.

ME2's tutorial doesn't need to be played fast tho. You can basically linger for as long as you want in each section and you will just get repeated prompts, either on-screen or from Miranda's voice. I played it about a week ago and it teaches you how to aim, shoot, use powers, find thermal clips, bring up the power and weapon wheels, take cover, sprint, use medi gel, order squad mates to use powers and bypass doors. I thought it was pretty comprehensive without breaking immersion, but each to their own I guess!

I suppose my concern is BW wasting time on a separate tutorial rather than focusing on the game itself.

I was gonna say make it like ME2 where it introduces you to the controls then to the setting. However your idea is quite intricate and deep.
