This was not brought to my attention until midnight. On the story forums, two BSNers: Psychevore and Sporkfu were talking about Slam + Lash = 2 Biotic Explosions, and they were unsure of how that worked. I told them I will test and see if that actually does work, and it actually did. During Slam's lifting phase, throwing a Lash will cause one explosion, and then when Slam goes into its slamming phase it will cause another explosion. This is only possible in Single Player since Slam doesn't exist in MP.

Now, the other one can be done in Multiplayer, but it requires two people since there are no existing kits with both Lash and Shockwave. In order to perform a double Biotic Explosion with Shockwave and Lash, the person with Shockwave must spec their Shockwave to lift unprotected enemies by putting points in Rank 6b. When Shockwave lifts the target, they are primed for a BE. The person with Lash will detonate the lifted target by Shockwave, and since Lash is also a primer as well as a detonator, it continues to prime the target even after the detonation which it shouldn't be able to. If the person with Shockwave shoots another shockwave at the target that was detonated by Lash, it will cause another BE. This seems to be a bug with Lash where it would continue priming even after detonating a Biotic Explosion, but so far, it has only worked with Slam and Shockwave to my knowledge. I tried it with Reave and Warp, but no go.

The basic formula for this is: Lifting Shockwave + Lash + Lifting Shockwave

The drawback to this is that you have to try it on like a Phantom on Platinum or Gold since most unportected enemies die from the first BE. It would be wise to not spec into the BE damage evolution of both powers if you want to try it out.

And yes, I tried this with the Single Player Lash and Shockwave, and their Multiplayer versions. It works with both.

EDIT: Added the two BSNers who found out about the double BE caused by Slam and Lash.

Cool. I can't see it having a practical application, but it will definitely be fun to mess around with.

Why are you complicating things:

Reave + Cluster Grenades = 3 Biotic Explosions

I can easily wipe Collectors Gold Wave 7 Spawns consisting of 3 Scions with this method.

Does Singularity + Smash  with the correct evolutions give 2 biotic explosions or do you have to smash twice? Somehow I have I forgotten that.

In what order are you suggesting the biotic explosions follow? For example: Singularity + Smash + Smash or Smash + Singularity + Smash and etc...

Singularity + Smash (BE) + Singularity (rank 6 detonation evo)

Singularity>Smash>Singularity (Detonate)

Singularity + Smash (BE) + Singularity (rank 6 detonation evo)

I'll see what happens, but it does seem like that would happen a lot in a match with Smashdepts.

Should I recast the Singularity, or should I keep the same Singularity going until it detonates?

Same.

Same.

Just tried it. No go, it doesn't work.

This sort of thing happens when a prime effect is separate from a detonate effect on a power and they might be missing a line or two from the logic to prevent this.

The Slam / Lash interaction in SP is a fun way to go through Omega if you take Slam on Shepard.

I tried Singularity + Lash + Same Singularity(detonate) and it does do a double BE, but you have to wait at least 4 seconds before you throw Lash since the Lash's priming duration isn't very long, and it take Singularity 8 seconds to detonate.

You can also try Singularity>Warp>Warp>Singularity (Detonate)

Try this as well Singularity>Smash>Smash>Singularity (Detonate)

Both of those definitely work.

From memory I thought that Singularity -> Smash  -> Singularity detonate did work. I couldn't recall exactly though.

Both work since Singularity has a priming phase and a detonating phase given that it specced to detonate.

I can imagine how tricky it would have been to pull that off. You have to make sure you don't kill the enemy too soon, lash the enemy out of the detonate radius, lash too soon, or get too close and cancel the singularity.

Singularity + Lash + Smash = two BEs as well.

Too bad you can't have both because of ID conflicts on PC.

A little off-topic but what the hell: If player A has Smash with the electrical evo and player B has Smash with the biotic evo, is this chain possible?

Smash(A) > Smash(B ) detonates Tech Burst > Smash(A) detonates Biotic Explosion > Smash(B ) detonates Tech Burst >........................and so on.

I know powers normally can't detonate themselves (two players each throwing Warp at an enemy won't cause a BE) but I thought it might be different in this case as Smash's priming ability is an evolution chosen by the player.

As you might have guessed the Phoenix kits are not among my favourites so I'm a bit unfamiliar with their mechanics.

I just tested it with path0geN7 and it doesn't work. There were no TBs or BEs involved.

As far as I recall, there were ways around that... Am I wrong?

Yeah, you just have to access program security.
