I'm going to try to work those ties and get support ASAP from the Chantry. Dealing with the breach could be a lot smoother with their legitimacy and access to their resources. Might have to work up to it, but it should be easier to get as a Trevelyan.

Wear a scarf and a hood to cover your tattoos, and at the door say you have a cold and are being considerate.

Maybe if they weren't written like Merrill it would be possible :P Some of the guys from the camp in DA2 would probably pass for a city elf if they put their back into it.

At 1st I scoffed at the dalish spy. Its still a bit silly, but we have plenty of people like Zeverans mom, feynriels mom, Merrill and even Velanna who leave the dalish.

Just because Dalish don't interact with humans and avoid them doesn't mean they can't spy on them.

Besides, I doubt this meeting was this much of a very big secret.

A Dalish just has to pretend he/she is an elven servant.

Some Dalish end up city elves afterall.

Am sad only the female dwarf warrior showed for me of the dwarven models, and every character of every race, class and gender were put in clothes and body positions that almost seemed designed to hide their body type.  Was able to see all the other models.

The helmet looked awkward on everyone. :(

Whooo! I'm so excited about getting the background info on the different Inquisitors and why we will we be at that summit. I was really looking forward to getting the info, but I didn't think we'd find that out before release. I do wish they had finally posting info on the remaining specializations, but I guess we'll just have to be patient.

Why you gotta disappoint me like this, website. :S

hah. That was the first thing I tried to do too, even though I knew we wouldn't be able to play one. I was surprised we were even allowed to select mage after selecting dwarf. :P

I'm excited about the human backgrounds the most, I must say. The Trevelyan-Chantry connection is rather interesting.

While I'm not most excited about the human background (they are all rather interesting, really), I think the human background actual sounds interesting for a change when I usually find the human noble background pretty boring. Being able to try and resist your family's attempts to put you in the Chantry makes it especially interesting. Can't wait to see how that will play out, even if it is only a tiny part of the game.

It seems like you were still born outside of the Qun, but they just used the term Tal-Vashoth instead of Vashoth this time.:

You are Tal-Vashoth, a Qunari who has rejected the Qun and never even lived in Qunari lands.

That's all I can think of.

Though, sending one of those elves to spy might work better than an elf who's obviously dalish and obviously doesn't belong there.

The elven background seems like it would be the best fit with a rogue but a mage could blend in with the other mages (stay hooded to hide the vallaslin).

It might also be an issue of trust, as the Keeper would likely place more confidence in the First than with relative strangers. You do bring up some good points, but it's possible they might hide their vallaslin, as you suggested.

Given that the protagonist has the same last name as the clan, it's possible the character could be descended from a long lineage, dating back to the war and fall of the Dales; Lanaya does note that some Keepers are descended from the nobility who governed the Dales. The character may be considered beyond reproach.

Still weird how they say you rejected the Qun but was never born into it

I guess the qunari's parents and other Tal-Vashoth told them about it

The nature of the Qun being what it is, I imagine it's pretty difficult for one of the qunari race to actually stay as just a Vashoth for very long. No matter where you go in Thedas you'll always bring attention to yourself and with it attempts at re-education.

Edit: But re-reading it again, it seems more likely to be a simple error.

Boom.

It's a meeting with (at least) hundreds of men and women attending, so I'd presume that it would be possible for a single hooded elf to slip in.

The Dalish undercover will probably have dialogue options to make them seem serious and very competant. Not all Dalish are as clueless as Merrill. Especially the PC.

Very nice. The Qunari and Dwarven backgrounds sound the most interesting to me. I'll end up playing them all of course, though.
