DAMN, I WISH I WAS HIGH RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OR INDENT?!
That's italicization not an indentation.
This is an example of indenting...
Give you a chance to completely dodge attacks (based on an excessively complicated formula) just like it was in the previous 2 games and numerous others RPGs and MMOs. The formula in DAO was actually pretty straightforward but also quite broken.
And this somehow doesn't count as defense?
It's not a damage reduction %. The point I was making is we don't know how the combat system works and how it compares against to the other racial bonuses.

Actually, I had it typed with an indent too. Weird. ![]()
Im confused, did the peace talks not go well, or did they go horribly wrong?
Hold on, I thought that referred to a spell/talent point not an attribute point. Has this been confirmed?
No, sorry I don't know. All it says is Human characters receive a bonus ability point at the start of the game. You may well be correct, that would probably make more sense.

I wonder why it lets me select dwarf mage...
I don't fancy reading through all 16 pages, so forgive me if this is a repeat question. But wouldn't be been neat if all potential inquisitors are at that meeting maybe you can even talk to them before everything goes wrong. Obviously they would all die apart from you.
Origins had a slimier thing where you would find soris locked up, dwarf noble mentioned to have died in the deep roads, dwarf commoner dead in there cell, etc.

I think the opening cinematic should involve them all passing each other from the view point of whoever you chose.

Doesn't sound possible. All other potential Inquisitors are customized by you. You can't meet the other potential ones because they won't actually look anything like they will if you selected them and adjusted their faces. I suppose they could just do what they did for the casteless dwarf in DAO and just give them some random appearance and just tell you that's them, even if you would have make them look quite different. Like, I could see them putting a Dalish and dwarf at the meeting too and they would have the same roles that they do if you select them. Still, the fact that they would have to have some kind of preset makes it unlikely Bioware would do this.

They went horribly wrong, they didn't go well, and the Keeper was right.
It was a big earth shattering kaboom......wheres the big earth shattering kaboom?
still a few more months,.....ugh...
They went horribly wrong, they didn't go well, and the Keeper was right.
I'm actually thinking they didn't. The peace talks could have been going exceedingly well, but were interrupted by a sudden nuke-sized explosion of the veil be torn wide open. The peace talks and what unrelated event that happened during the peace talks that ruined it are different things.

I think you're missing the joke on how all of the backgrounds end with one of those three lines.
I dont think the ability point of humans is as good as a 25% defense to magic/ranged... It is more fun since you have more options, but I dont think it is more powereful.
A straight 25% defense to magic, if it is what we think it is, sounds really broken. There are not going to exist easy to get passives that give such boost.
Usually the difficulty comes when there is a lethal enemy and you cannot dispatch it fast enough. Maybe because there are 2 lethal enemies. But if you can stack defenses to make one type of enemy not so lethal, then you will be able to dispatch quickly the real lethal enemies and avoid being killed.
Example. If I make a dwarf templar, with 25% magic defense and another 50% magic defense from passives/gear, I can completely ignore the enemy caster and quickly dispatch the rogues.
I dont like the Qunari racial though, a flat 50 health seems good at first levels but a little strange lategame. Maybe they could have given a % increase instead.
I wonder if companions will benefit from those passives too.
If so, a party of Elfquisitor, Solas, Sera and Tank will have a easy time with ranged enemies. Just kill fast mages, and you are ready to go! ^^
