On mh Engi-Shep, I managed to get the choice to side with Morinth or Samara.

But here on my Infil-Shep, I don't have enough morality points to resist Morinth so I have to kill her.

How many morality point do I need so that I have the choice to kill Samara instead?

It's not about how much points you have. The point value in itself doesn't mean anything.

It's about the ratio of point you have vs points you could've gotten. In other words, how paragon/renegade you are vs how paragon/renegade you could have been. This ratio defines if you pass a check or not. Importing a character with high morality scores from ME1 makes this ratio much higher, and therefore much easier to pass most checks.

In number values: at the start of the game with an import you have a ratio of 150/0 , which of course, has no answer. But after the first gain of morality points you have a ratio of 152/2= 76, which is much much higher than the highest value a check can have (which is, I assume, 1). During the course of the game you'll eventually drop under 1 unless you're doing a pure morality run.

You can bump the number of morality points you have by putting points into your class passive. At rank 4 you have a choice between a 70% boost to your morality points, or a 100% boost. For the hard persuasion checks, you should go with the 100% version. Also, the earlier you do a mission that has a difficult persuasion check the better if you are using an import from ME1 since you can add those points (up to 190) to whatever points you earn during the course of the game. Without importing, persuasion checks become more difficult and force you into one or the other alignment just so you can pass them. Even with the maximum number of points imported from ME1, some checks are very difficult to pass late in the game, such as the Morinth check and the Vasir check. The "shortest interrogation ever" check is also difficult to pass.

I had trouble with this as well resolved it by waiting to do her loyalty last but before the IFF. Had over four bars paragon and just over one bar renegade which unlocked the first renegade option but not the second and both paragon options. Had already boosted the bonuses using the passive ability cap n gown told you about.
