In my opnion, the best solo of ME3 was the Achire2k. The Single solo 100% authentic in Novaguard style.

Always wanted to do this solo. Awesome gameplay with great skill. Just missed a detail to this solo stay perfect. Would do it without using the cancellation of Nova.

I am proud of having achieved. I did a solo 100% Genuine Novaguard in style. without using the invincibility nova cancel.  On a map and not Giant or White with a different enemy Cerberus.

The greatest difficulties are the drones and bugs on charge of failure.

Excuse my bad english

Good job! The Novaguard is still one of the best Vanguards in ME3, imo.

Geth / Godess, hum... not an easy setup, nice job. I myself love the Novaguard for solos, I think I will redo one with him soon.

I agree that Achire's solo is great, despite a time (50 mins iirc) which could have been better and a few unnecessary Nova cancels, but hey, nothing is perfect.

PS : the fact that you end the solo with 3 ops but 0 gel illustrates well the stunning fest a solo against Geth is :lol: !

I love watching vids on the human vanguard. Very rarely see them in pugs. Unless I host I don't use it. Great job man, I learned something new.:)

Nice solo. Glad to see you're back at it. :)

One question though: why incendiary ammo over disruptor? Disruptor primes on shields and barriers too, and it is usually quicker to detonate TBs as opposed to FEs. Also, TBs on general are a bit more effective vs. geth ( from my experience). Any particular reason you chose incendiary? Did you try wi disruptor?

Will take a look later, but I will say congrats now.

There is no bug with invulnerability for Nova.  It is a variable that is set to 1.5s in coalesced.  So even when you use a Nova normally you have that time of invulnerability.

"damageimmunityduration": [
        {
          "Type": 2,
          "Value": "1.5f"
        }

Nova is listed as "discharge" in the game files.

Oh god. I'm so sorry for this. I'm ashamed on so many levels, but I couldn't help it. :pinched:

Uuhhuhuuuhuh *shudders* First meme I've ever made. I feel so dirty.

Uhh, anyway, congrats on that solo! I've never even gotten through a solo above bronze withe a Novaguard. Or any other character for that matter. Seems like a lot of :wizard:  to me.

Because of fire explosion and more damage in armor.
Found in the most efficient practice.

Is not related to the nova immunity.
It refers to the use of - nova cancel -
Nova cancel = nova + avoidance + without loss barrier + immunity

And it's still not a bug. Not by any stretch of imagination.

It's not a bug, but it is a cheap use of accidental game-mechanic consequences. They were obviously not too concerned with it, but I can't imagine it was intended for players to be able to scream their way invincibly across the map. I can pretty much guarantee it. So yeah, it cheapens Novaguard play.

Yep. If you take Half Blast you can Charge > Nova > Nova Cancel and your cooldown is ready for another charge. Your barriers never drop below half and you have pretty much constant immunity. You're basically unkillable.

I am well aware of animation canceling in ME2 and ME3, and Nova-canceling.

Nova would not be able to be canceled by roll or melee if they really didn't want people to do it.  Or they would have balance changed the immunity window.

I don't know your definition of "guaranteeing", but I can definitely guarantee that it's not the wide spread one.

They actually thought about buffing nova... A pity they never came around to do it XD

I wager they thought the Vanguard class was going to be the hardest class to play at release.

As far as buffs, I imagine that had to do with the gameplay data.  Lot less people playing Vanguards.  Most of that is really due to the fact they aren't as good off-host (and were near useless off-host at launch), and they "have to operate at sync kill range."

Whether or not Nova canceling was a good idea or not is debatable.  Calling it a bug requires insight into the developer's intent, which we only have circumstantial evidence of, and all of it points to "feature."

I tend to think of it as a 'feature' similar to using ops pack to cheat phantom sync kills, or pizza running or any other animation cancelling (particularly reload canceling with power). All of them fall under the category of 'merely using the existing game mechanics to help the player a bit'. I don't think of it as a bug tbh.
