Did anyone else got the feeling that there might be missions which you can complete (I mean the initial objective or achieve even more), by sacrificing specific companion (if s/he is present in the party) or there might be situation where s/he will decide to stay and kill/protect/revenge/hold back someone?

The music, possible "end of the world" as we know it and whole Sera flying against the wall, gives me such impression.

I would hope not? I'd rather not be forced to sacrifice my companions for the rest of the game and be forced to deal without certain aspects of the game because I had to have them killed off.

I don't think so.

I hope not, but I would be inclined towards a ME2 style suicide mission, where you have to choose between saving one of the squadmates you brought with you.
Rather like Virmire, but without them assuming I'd grown attached to people just because we're the same race.

Knowing me, I don't expect all my companions will make it out alive by the end of the game if this is the case. I can see Vivenne dying in my first play through.

That would be kind of sad. I hope not. I may play as an Elf possessed but I sure don't want any of my friends to die.

I'm pretty sure companion(s) will die, but I don't think there will be a companion will die no matter what you do, but who knows? That could happen and I'd be okay with it as long as it made sense.

What do we know about Bioware games? That if certain choices are made or if certain missions are not completed companions can die

I think its because the trailer was about the bad guys in other words its a darker trailer, I didn't get the impression that all hope was lost or anything like that just made me want to look at the elder one and say "bring it on!!!!"

Inquisitor: This man said a demon-bear took his prize sheep.
Inquisitor: In order to enter the Fade and get it back, we'll need a blood sacrifice.
Inquisitor: ... I'm sorry Solas. *pulls out murder knife*
Solas: Wait! I think there might be a better waaaaaaa-- *dead*
Sera: Did you just kill Solas so we could save a sheep?
Inquisitor: There's an open quest in my journal. I'm a completionist, okay?!

I just hope that our Inquisitor, to finish the main quest, won't have to:

1) die

2) choose from 3 different colours and die

Or I hope our companions will not be stuck in a completely different place....

Bloody ancestors! I can not bare the tought that I have to make a decision to sacrifice someone for the 'greater good'!

But I get the feeling that Blackwall is close to his 'Calling' and that he wil die in the deeproads.

If you select the wrong advisor for the job multiple times and have low friendship/loyalty/standing with them - then yes they should be able to die due to you making irrational and bad choices as the leader of the inquisition.

super-happy-unicorns-and-rainbow-hollywood-ending, no thanks.

You shouldnt be able to easily wage war against a demon invasion of Thedas with no losses.
That doesent mean you shouldnt be able to complete the game with everyone alive, but it should be hard to make it.

If you want a fairytale ending go read a childrens book imo. The DA universe is dark and the feeling of loss enhances the story at an emotional level. This is a dark fantasy setting for a mature audience depicting realism in its characters and events (within the fictional laws of this universe), something people like to forget.

ME:2 suicide mission is a good example of how it can be done well.

The sheep and Solas is a good example, but I was thinking about something like this:

You were able to locate the hideout of the some infamous sect/organization.
While going there you discover that nearby village is attacked by monsters/bandits/demons.
Sera wants to help villagers first and considering her personality you won't be able to change her mind (and even if you do somehow, she won't forgive herself/you for that and leave your party afterwards).
By helping villagers you'll loose the element of surprise and that might mean that the sect will notice your presence in the area and most likely flee.
By letting them escape, they will be more careful with their future operations and thus it will be harder to find their hideout again. But in the long run the damage that they will cause (land/people/Inquisition's operations) will be great.

"The" choices:
Take Sera, help the villagers, sect flees, Sera is grateful but understands consequences.
Take Sera, convince to go after sect, loose A LOT of approval.
Take Sera, go after sect, Sera defends the village but dies in the process.
Don't take Sera, go after sect, upon return to the Skyhold Sera leaves Inquisition.
Don't take Sera, help the villagers, sect flees, Sera is grateful.

I have no doubt that death will be possible.

Whether it is necessary, in certain circumstances remains to be seen.

In neither DAO, nor DA2 was death necessary (excluding DA2 prologue for party balance), though it was certainly possible.

(Anders paid the price in my DA2 play through...)

It should depend on the choices you make during the game. Make poor choices and people die.

I hated the fact that if you had to have a certain companion with you it would stop Bethany from dying. But why oh why did she have to die so early in the DA2 game.

W H Y????

So I hope nothing like that is going to happen in DAI.
