So... I was looking at the romances/companions for DA:I and am i the only one that thinks that these romances aren't all that attractive? Well I guess the male companions / romances are actually not that bad. But the female romances? Come on BioWare. Cassandra looked perfectly fine in DA:2 and now... Am i the only one thinking this? Like why is it that hard to give us an attractive female to romance?
Companions... not all that attractive?

I'm honestly wondering lol. And sure attitude plays a part but I'm pretty sure no one wants to romance someone who isn't attractive in the least.

Let's see a picture of YOU op, I'm sure you're a huge catch and put all those hideous female characters to shame
How did this come to be about me? And I never called them hideous. Can you try harder to be a jerk?

I know this wasn't directed at me but if our appearance serves for what is attractive and what is not, then everyone is attractive.

They look normal. After hollywood homely, and space babes, and Morrigan there is somewhat an expectation for them to be very hot. They are more attractive than average, but mostly they look normal, flaws and all. Just like the guys. They have flaws and are fairly normal.

I agree with TC. I want all of my companions to look like Kate Beckinsale and Chris Evans for their respective sexes. No exceptions. You know how much it sucks being a 4/10 in real life? I want to be a handsome mother****** in my video games and be surrounded by beautiful and exquisite characters too. Why would I want to play as someone I can be in every day life?
But anyway...

I can, would you like me to?
Seriously though, why do the female characters always have to be supermodels? Why can't they just be well rounded, legitimate characters? Why do they have to be eye candy? All the female characters are at least on the pretty side of normal if not prettier, none of them are frumpy or overweight or covered in acne, missing teeth, ratty hair, etc...most people would kill to look like them and yet if they're ALL "unattractive" how does that make real, normal people who don't look like a super model feel? Unless you look like Chris Evans buddy, you have no right to complain. Those supposedly "unattractive" companions could all be actors or models. Could you?

There's a shockingly large percentage of the (as far as I can tell, exclusively) male population that GENUINELY cannot tell the difference between "doesn't hit my spectacularly narrow and unarticulated personal interests" and "fugly". It's roughly identical to declaring "I'm the pickiest eater in the universe and all food that isn't precisely to my personal tastes is HORRIBLE FOOD."
To be fair, I can't really tell the difference between good coffee and awful coffee because I can't tolerate the taste of ANY coffee. Same goes for anything that tastes of licorice. Some of the companions (like the Iron Bull) might be considered a strong enough flavor as to only appeal to some. But there's still a difference between "doesn't appeal to me" and "couldn't possibly EVER appeal to ANYONE". Implying that latter of something that is purely a matter of taste is, frankly, rude.

I only find Cass and Sera -- the latter of whom I cannot even romance as a male -- attractive, but I don't make entire threads about it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me, they all look good. I don't see a problem.

Hi! You must be new here. Perhaps If you had looked beyond the first page of the forum section, you'll find that no you aren't the only one who thinks this.
Having said that I do not think the same as you, although I would not oppose a Chris Evans lookalike in a new installment of Dragon Age. ![]()

The old chestnut, beauty is subjective.
I personally love the changes to Cassandra, she fits her personality more as a toughened bad ass women.
I will romance her at one point. Just because of her personality.

beauty is subjective can only be taken so far though.
Put Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame in a room and have 20 people judge his appearance and then come back to me and talk about subjectivity. But yeah, I see where you're coming from.

I think Cassandra looks better in DAI as well. Everyone has so much more detail but other than that they look pretty much the same. I couldn't ask for them to adapt the characters better than that.

Also...I don't see how someone says the females look terrible but the males aren't that bad.
Uh...am I blind or something?

That's still subjective, it's just a specific subset of subjectivity called intersubjectivity.

On the other hand I can't imagine any of the companions being any where near looking like Quasimodo.
