Why? Why must we drag "political correctness" into our private gaming!? A game like DA:I is a fantasy world where our laws and political and sexual views don't apply. You can be any gender you want, be good or evil, yes, you can do stuff in DA:I's world that would send you to prison for life in most countries, and now all hell is breaking loose when people make drafts for mods that change the "skin color" of a DA:I partymember... so what! Just don't download it then...

 

If you can't see what is troubling about someone wanting to remove black people from their ideal world, then we can't help you.

Well, is this not great, we have some places in the world where the politically correct, bisexual and gay haters can do NOTHING but "rant"... oh my, it's a sure joy to experience this. Games like Skyrim, Dragon Age and Mass Effect are a safe haven (with and without mods) where we can live out our dreams or most dark temptations, oh.... I could ask how it feels to be so powerless, but I wont as far to many "haters" sadly have REAL power out in the "living world", but again; its a small joy that you are totally powerless here... well, you might feel better by click on the "report" button (it's a freebie advice from me) in any post I make.... haha... lol

People can mod their game however they want, and I can be as disgusted by their modding choices as I want. Isn't freedom great? Other players are free to enjoy their Skyrim rape mods or their mods that turn the only ethnic characters into white because white is beautiful and everything else is ugly gaiz. Meanwhile I am free to make as many barfing emoticon posts in response as I want.

To be fair, I don't think they mean to remove all blacks from the game hitler style. They probably want to romance isabella or vivienne and find them more attractive "that way". Also to be fair, although it weirded me out for a while, swtor actually lets you do this, not just race change, but completely turn your companions into someone else with no resemblance.

Yes... it's more the framing it as I can do whatever I want in my pretend world I object to.

 

That said, Dragon Age isn't Fantasy Fulfillment Dating Simulator 2014, and I think mods that screw around with companions to bend them to someone's romance desires are at best in poor taste. But then you get into rights of the author over the audience and things get messy.

Sera's pretty hot, honestly. Overall I guess they seem somewhat average, neither here nor there. Cassandra and Solas embody that most I think both are kind of attractive but they also have the short hair/baldness/kind of.. different thing going on at the same time.

 

I still think it doesn't really matter though, you can have a flaming hot character but if it doesn't also have the essence of a flaming hot person what's the point? It's just a meaningless shell. If someone had said, there aren't enough characters who care about their appearance in a completely neutral and positive way, want to make someone else happy with their appearance, are really attractive and calm and nice but not necessarily super warriors, or maybe are fierce and impulsive (not submissive) etc,  then I could get behind that as I already was trying to suggest something like that before.

 

It's also why characters like Tyrion are appealing, he has the essence of a genius type character, and so it doesn't matter what he looks like, he's interesting to a large amount of people because of what's underneath. It's just that what's underneath here can also be a kind of superficial characteristic, if that makes sense.

I sincerely hope you're trolling, because... Seriously?
I was previously ambivalent to the idea of modding games, but I now find myself incredibly glad that Frostbite is supposed to be incredibly difficult to modify.
Video games are indeed a form of escapism, but if you feel the need to escape from racial diversity, individuality, and differing sexualities then your life must be very sad indeed.
I certainly don't feel powerless, here or in my day to day life. I don't need to control my whole world in order to experience it with joy, and I'm actually quite sorry for you that you seem to need somewhere to be a dictator so badly.
