It's not working on me. I think this is the best bunch of companions we've seen in a BioWare game yet.
(Well, Iron Bull isn't conventionally handsome, but I still want to climb that like a tree. So I stand by my statement.)

It's still subjective whether used positively or negatively. If I am using that word correctly. But I understand your point.
I think they look fine and Cassandra really doesn't look all that different, she just has sharper features and a slightly wider jaw.
It's too bad that there's no really catchy way to combine the words orgy and inquisition, because my Inquisitor would totally give the group that name.

It seems the further you get away from the flawless, sandpapered Disney Princess the more likely people are to find something they object to. The trade off is you get more interesting designs, and some people will find something they love.
I think all the Inquisition companions are better by virtue of having greater variation between them.

Beauty != attractiveness. Personally, I tend to find men who are conventionally "beautiful" UNattractive. I like guys with personality and wits who aren't afraid to dive into a project and get messed up, filthy, bug-eaten and cut up. I like to see some wrinkles and scars on a man. Fake tanner, moisturizer, hair gel, teeth whitening and the kind of cut abs you only get from practically living at the gym? No THANK you. They might be pretty to look at but I don't want one in my house.

Hmm now that I look at that shot of Cassandra again she's kind of looks like a more battle worn version of Detective Benson from SVU. I approve of this!
couldn't find a good picture of her with her hair cut short like Casandra's though. By good I mean not having text on the screen and things like that.

She looks super cartoony and generic in the top image. In the bottom she has sharper and more detailed features and a faint scar. She looks older, more distinct, and more human.
I think what people are lamenting is the increase in realism. DA2 Cassandra has the perfectly smooth skin that is normally meticulously airbrushed into magazine photos--not because that's what she's meant to look like, but because DA2 did not give anybody wrinkles, creases, or pores. Everyone has the same even, plastic skin.
I think they all look fine, personally I think Sera is adorable that's why my first playthrough will be as a female lol
I am over the moon about everybody's looks. Everyone looks so unique - their faces have friggin' character. Makes me want to know every single one of them (except maybe Cole 
).
I think the women in particular look stunning.

Sorry, I like what you wrote. I feel that their character is more important than their looks myself. But, I do find the women attractive in Inquisition, the guys look good as well, but don't find them attractive. The one that creeps me out though is Cole.

Just wanted to reply to this so I could quote you and put this image in the thread again, cuz DAMN, Cass looks amazing. I LOVE that all the companions are super distinct this time-- they are all really strong character designs, with their own flaws, and still above-average attractiveness (facial proportions and facial symmetry, etc).
I know people are used to a certain 'perfect' standard of beauty in their video games, but I bet very few people here would call Cassandra ugly if they met someone who looked like her in real life.
On the other hand I can't imagine any of the companions being any where near looking like Quasimodo.
Does Boggy the bog unicorn count as a companion?

Wow, I swear I'm having deja vu... and of course it's exactly the same as most of its other clone-thread brethren, to a T. It's not just complaining about the looks of the characters, but specifically picking on the females. I've seen like, what... 1 or 2 people whining about Iron Bull being 'ugly', and at least like 20 complaining the the girls aren't pretty enough for them. This is a game where the characters are fighters, the women aren't going to look like they just walked off a runway. Personally I find Vivienne and Sera adorable. Sorry op, but if none of them sate your personal taste that's just unfortunate, because many of us think they look just fine. 
So... I was looking at the romances/companions for DA:I and am i the only one that thinks that these romances aren't all that attractive? Well I guess the male companions / romances are actually not that bad. But the female romances? Come on BioWare. Cassandra looked perfectly fine in DA:2 and now... Am i the only one thinking this? Like why is it that hard to give us an attractive female to romance?
Someone from Bioware admitted some while ago in a post that they tried to make their characters not to look "perfect" or "supermodel like". Well, they did a great job, that's why the female characters look very mediocre. Unfortunaly they forgot, that there are many women who are beatiful, without being a supermodel. Going on the street for 1 hour I will see plenty of women. who look better than any of the female companions.
I find the male characters more attractive, maybe I should question myself, If I'm really straight. Before someone quotes me> yes attractivness is subjective and my subjective view is that all female companions (maybe Josephine is the exception, need to have better loook at her) are average looking if anything.

Always interesting to hear someone talking about majoritys for a game that will probably sell a few million times, when this person has the opinion of maybe 20-30 people.
