If this assassin is going after Celene I will happily stand aside and let them do their thing.

I might actually consider intervening if they go after anyone else though.

SHE'S HIDING BEHIND THAT CURTAIN. GET HER.

@azarhal:  I believe the idea is that they are at the winter palace for peace talks - so that doesn't profit the enemy.

Hm, did the developers say anything about a bard performing at this party? The bard specialization would have had a chance to help with the dialogue instead of a crappy +5 attack buff.

Doesn't change that killing either Celene or Gaspar at a peace talk is only going to result in a winner to the civil war. What you want is kill someone of secondary important and blame it on the other group.

Does the target have to be Celene or Gaspard? This will be an important event, no doubt with the Inquisition acting as mediators. Perhaps a high ranking noble who knows too much about the Elder One, a diplomat with a compromise for peace? What about a certain witch who knows a great deal about the Eluvians? Killing either Gaspard or Celene would end the chaos not prolong it. The Venatori seem a very likely suspect due to their affiliation with the Elder One.

@Azarhal:  Not disagreeing with you.

Think about it this way.  Stopping the assassin is exactly what the enemy would want right?  Meaning the Inquisitor might be playing right into the enemies hands with this one.  If the assassin is stopped - then accusations can fly and the peace talks will be cancelled.

But - letting someone die on the hunch that the bad guy wants you to stop the assassin is a totally cruel thing to do.
