One of my favorite is Gothic series, but before Forsaken Gods and Arcania so G1 and G2 with Night Of The Raven. Why?
Well this series is most interesing i have found in past around CRPG, and humor is really good. Too bad only, Piranha Bytes are not going revive Gothic.

What timeframe are we talking about for GOG? Before 2000? Titles older than 5/10 years?

There are so many games I played a lot growing up that it's very difficult to select a few. For instance, I had a blast playing titles like Goldeneye, Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, and Ocarina of Time on the N64. I didn't have one so I would often go to a friend's to play these games. Then when I got my first PC I kept on playing Star Wars titles like Rebel Assault and the entire Dark Forces and Jedi Knight series, not to mention other games like Cyberia, Lords of Magic and Age of Empires (and a ton of DOS games to boot!). More recently, I came to love titles such as Arcanum, KotOR I & II, and Jade Empire, which allowed me to immerse myself in worlds brimming with lore and interesting characters and stories. These latter ones definitely take the spot of my favourite games but it would be unjust of me not to include the Jedi Knight series as well so here are the covers:

I have a special place for Fallout 2 in my heart because it was the first RPG I've played and the game that got me forever hooked on the genre.

A discussion thread about older games that were best and good in old days. what's your favorite game?
Demon's Crest. It's definitely in the cult classic realm, and often overlooked. It's sort of like taking the Ghosts N' Goblins formula, then adding more empowerment to the character with a healthy dose of exploration/hidden secrets. It's also got the toughest super secret final boss, you're gonna need a whole lot of luck to beat him.
The game is srsly spooky. :|
On the other side of overlooked classics, Axelay is a wicked shooter that switches between classic 2D and a 3D-Esque perspective. It's challenging, but not in the same awful way R-Type did where you're guaranteed to die in one hit. Every minor hit knocks off one of your abilities(Missiles, Machine Guns, etc.) until you'll get blown up by the end. The last stage is one of the most nerve-wracking moments in my gaming history. Axelay's on Wii Console, by the way.
Naturally stuff like Super Metroid/LttP and other well-known titles were a bit part of it. Doom, Secret of Mana, Myst/Riven, Mega Man X. Every Music game you could imagine.
Classics I love off of GoG, in no particular order:
Planescape Torment, Arcanum, Thief 1 & 2, System Shock 2, Legacy of Kain.

Hah i remember as well Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy! Most my favorite classic games, still on Quake 3 engine.
I wonder how those games work on steam, because they are in offer.
AoE2 i got both classic and HD, but a shame... That HD not work well with total conversion mods. But i still love this game, and i gonna finish all campaings on HD version.
Warcraft 3 is last true warcraft game, since WoW after Cataclysm is only led to ruin... Maybe WoD will change it but i guess no... Blizz please do remake of Warcraft original games! I can even paid 100 euro for that.
By the way... Someone remember Majesty or Tropico?

In offer? I'm not seeing a sale on Star Wars games on Steam. ![]()

I recomend you catch as many older games you can, because they give more fun than new ones. Especially if they got mods etc. Like for sample Warcraft 3, AoE2 and many others.
