Am I going crazy or am I seeing more guards, people walking around and nobles in the Diamond Quarter than I ever have playing on medium graphics. I can finally play on high textures and graphics and now I see a lot more people in the Orzammar Commons and DQ than ever before. Usually when I see Oghren for the first time, it is only him and the guard arguing, now there are 2 nobles standing near the guard. 
More ambient's in Orzammar with high graphics settings?

Hmm... I've never had this issue as I've either played on the PS3 or on the PC on the highest graphics setting, but it would make sense. Perhaps lower graphics settings are designed to have less "extra" people wandering about, so as to not overwhelm the PC?
I'm glad you are able to enjoy DAO in all of its high graphical glory now.

I don't know what kind of monitor you use, but if you have a good one, DAO looks even better. When I completely redid my computer back in May, I also upgraded my monitor, as my old one was beyond ancient. I think Indiana Jones may have tried to claim it as an archaeological find, it was that bad.
I ended up getting a small HD TV, as it was cheaper than buying an actual computer monitor. Hooked up to my new computer with an HDMI cable, DAO is positively drool-worthy. I use FRAPS constantly now.

I have a Dell 19" Digital Flat Panel, it is nice (wish it was bigger). I also have more ambient people in Denerim market
