Not if it's the same series each year. It just leaves me thinking "Another one? Already?" instead of looking forward to it. A different series each year is something else but I prefer the current approach where each game is spaced out a bit more.

I like how many times DA2 was mentioned in this thread.

Art shouldn't be rushed every couple to a few years is best for bioware games that aren't fully online I think.
UbiI does the every year thing with some titles and they have made a few mess ups.
Just my two bits.

So this thread leads me to believe that a fair amount of people respond to threads on this forum just on titles alone without actually reading the OP in most cases.
I dunno why this is the case but it's amusing to read lol. ![]()

Aye. I actually read the OP because I knew there would be a hypothetical scenario involved.
Personally, I wouldn't mind one way or another. In fact it's ideal right? Three different Bioware studios "that worked on a 3 year development cycle and released a new game each year" for different series means more RPG goodness. It's only when Bioware rush that we get the problem.

Yeah, my only concern is that I have experienced developer fatigue in the past, even with BW who I suppose is my "favorite" developer. I played ME2 in January 2011, and then DA2 in March, and I honestly felt a little tired of the whole "talking to characters" thing. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but it happened.

Yeah that old saying of too much of a good thing comes to mind.
Though I will admit the idea of getting Bioware type game each is year is temping but that may because the current wait for DA:i feels like forever lol.

Just wanted to add to this hypothetical discussion about annual Bioware games that I would love to see a Jade Empire sequel developed
I guess that part of what makes Bioware games special is the fact that we do have to wait for each game. Its the same for Bethesda games for me, I am eagerly waiting for a (hopefully) soon Fallout 4 announcement and when the game comes out it is usually well worth the wait.

From KotOR1 (skipping over JE) to ME2, BioWare designed their games to have a middle, then open up to explore 3-4 locations, then settle in for the end game. It was all somewhat predictable.
Now they're doing the whole on rails thing with optional sidequests throughout, which started with DA2 and appeared in ME3. Wouldn't be surprised if DAI followed the same formula, with the only changes being that the sidequests simply appear in the previous areas of the game instead of creating 'new' areas (that look exactly the same) to do it in.
But it's a moot point. EA owns BioWare now, so the only way we wouldn't see a 'BioWare' game every year is if they, for some reason, stopped naming their new acquisitions 'BioWare'.
And don't forget, one of the studios is working on C&C, too.

I am pretty sure EA wants Bioware to dish out a game each year, and I am fairly sure it will happen.

I guess a yearly release is their goal anyway; three teams working on DA, ME, and the new IP, each team has 3 years... A new DA or ME every year would get boring really fast, but as long as they are alternating between different IPs... well, honestly I'd like that a lot.

I don't care.

Yes I would love a new BioWare game every year. They need more IP's and more of the same formula they are famous for. I was excited to see the Shadow Realms teasers and then disappointed to see it was a multiplayer game. If they had two more big single-player, party-based RPG IP's like Dragon Age and Mass Effect, they could release a game every year, and still give each franchise four years of development between instalments.
That is my ideal world. ![]()

So multiple studios working on multiple products, timmed out so that they came out every year, but still getting the good development cycle time needed?
Nah. A new bioware game every 2 years though sounds ideal, that way there's just a bit more of a buffer to go about things. Though honestly I'd want to see them make 3 new IP's with that system, or possibly dragon age along with 2 other IP's.
I don't want the creative department to strain themselves for game ideas like what they did with ME3. That would be just horrid.
EDIT: I feel so bad for OP. Nobody's reading their post and just going off the title.

No , I rather they take as long as needed to make there game as good as they can , this isn't Call of Duty.

Hell no, constant annual releases will cause more abominations like DA2.
So I was wondering would people like the idea if Bioware had three studio's that worked on a 3 year development cycle and released a new game each year?
This will put significant stress on the development team and could lead to burnout. At the very least, we'll get buggy games that will rival the Assassin Creed games and anything Bethesda puts out plus reused environments.

There are what, 5 Bioware development teams?
Dragon Age team, Mass Effect team, new IP team, Shadowrealms team, and the SWTOR team.
ShadowRealms may end up being like TOR in that its a continuous development game rather than sold in a serialized fashion.
We're probably already going to be looking at approximately 1 game per year, if not more depending on what goes on with Shadowrealms.

No. I'd rather they make games that they make with time and effort.
