If in some magical way I could have what I expect of a Bioware RPG game each and every year then the answer is emphatically yes. Unfortunately that is a none to none possiblity.

It's definitely possible. As has been pointed out, we already do get close to one every year anyway. It's just a matter of how many teams you have.

Good lord, no! I usually work on the end of our game's development and then on to post-ship support. I would never get any sleep or time off!

I would have accepted this as a response.  :P

But if said situation did arise I'm sure they would get more people to help or have your role assigned to someone for each separate team as I mentioned in the OP, but that's me speculating.

Too quick a development time for a AAA title (assuming that's what BW would go for whenever they develop a game). That's why you get things like recycled maps.

As the OP said, with 3 teams working in parallel, each team would have had a 3 year development time for their respective title, which is enough for most games.

Bioware pretty much already has 3 teams working on 3 games (i'm excluding Bioware Austin).

Just throw enough people at a thing and you can do pretty much anything.  ;)

I'd say no. That would need to have a year break otherwise the Dev's would go berserk. See problems if they came out exactly every 4 years.

Devs don't need a (one year) break. I don't get a one year break either at my job.

I would really love a cycle. Let's say this year we have Dragon Age, next Mass Effect, then next who knows? So then i wont have shortage of games each year from Bioware :)

Blizzard with it's "When it's done" approach seems to prosper with bestselling games. I would be happy if Bioware had the same approach with the same quality.

Thankfully, Bioware is not like Blizzard or else we would be getting like 2 games per decade, they are almost as bad as Valve. It's as if they're like "screw making games, we have our cash cows" (WoW, STEAM). And personally, i would take a Bioware games over anything Blizzard has done, wards and all.

Thank god EA & Bioware have their "cash cow" in Tortanic. Oh wait, they failed with it and it's not a cash cow.

Nobody asked you, slave! Or atleast thats what my boss would say. *sigh*

I have been brought up on Bioware games and most other games lack the right "materials" to excite me. Its not like Bioware is the most amazing developer, or has the most amazing games ever (probably mass effect and maybe they are).

Its like what Aveline says to Hawke, that Donnic is not the most handsome or attractive or capable person there is. But she loves him / likes him because it is what it is.

I think I have the same relationship with Bioware games. Their games aren't flawless nor they are innovative nor the most good looking, but I love them still. Its a very unhealthy relationship. You should see how my work suffers when new Bioware comes out. Its disturbing.

If I'm honest I don't really game much anymore.  I just don't like what they are putting out.  Believe it or not DA:I will be the only game I have bought this year.  I'm not closed to buying other new games....I just don't like any of them.

The last game I bought new was GTAV and the game I bought before that was Last Of Us and before that Mass Effect 3.  As I said I refuse to buy Ubisoft games anymore, but I did play AC IV because a friend of mine that I gameshare with had it and wanted me to play...neither one of use lasted very long with the constant disconnects and being split up on different teams and such.

There is a flash sale on PSN this weekend and you can get Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires for 9.99.  I will be picking that one up. (probably)

Edit I was always a fan of the Dead Space series.  Dead Space 3 war free for PS+ users recently.  I did really like that game.

Well I just loaded my playstation up and was checking out the flash sale.  I had Empires in my cart, but decided to check the DLC for the game  52 yes..FIFTY TWO add on of nickle and diming content for selling a sword and a spear here and a power up here and a quest here.  These types of games aren't for me either.

I was 100% honest when I said DA: I will be the only game I bought this year now.  Unless something crazy comes out of the woodwork I haven't heard about yet

No, probably because it will

Nope even considering your best intention good games have a long development cycle. I prefer fewer but memorable games from BW. They should take all the time they need. I can wait for a good game.

This.

No rush and wait or impatiently play an instant unsatisfying game like DA2.

I've avoided this thread because the title made me think you were talking to something similar to CoD or something.

But multiple studios? I could get behind that. These days there aren't many other studios I can get addicted to like I do with Biowar and there games, so it would keep me happy :) As long as quality came before quantity

No because then delaying the games by a year will be out of the question and they'll have a set time limit every time. Developers should be able to take as much time to make a good game.

Iterative releases do not work well for bioware's scope

If the quality and content didn't suffer from the insane each-year-cycle? Hell yes!

But since that wouldn't be possible for any game that isn't a sports game or a FPS clone - hell no.

Hehe I was kidding.

Frankly I'm pre-occupied with other games. Between Civilization 5, Rome Total War:2, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends (just hit Diamond yay)  I have plenty on my plate til DA:I.

I'm very distraught that WoW:WoD and DAI releases are scant days apart. I'm going to have to put WoD on hold til I finish DA:I at least twice :(
