- No equipment decay

This always pleases me, i always find having repair equipment plain annoying anyway.  Although i don't remember Origins or 2 having  equipment decay either.

This so much. I despise equipment degradation, weapons/armor breaking, repairs, etc. The only game I've been able to stomach it in was Diablo 3: UEE.

Glad it's not in the DA series.

I think that by severely limiting the healing factor, Bioware shot themselves in the foot. So not only can we not regenerate health, now we can't even count on health regeneration by mages. In their attempt to make combat a little more difficult, it seems like they may have made it more tedious. This is the first time my anticipation for this game has been dampened, and I hope the actual experience isn't as bad and limited as the devs are making it out to be.

How is this gameplay segregation ?
There are plently of abilities that break lore. The Champion's war Cry/Fus-Ro-Dah, the ranger's magical summoning of animals, the bard's magical abilities, as well as rogues' abilities (stealth, dirty trick or whatever it was, the archer's abilities the stun and Paralyze), shield and sword warriors being able to know down golems, the assassin's mark ability (and I'm not considering elemental spells). Plus, there were animations like the ogre's smashing and dragon's munching you that you can survive, which would mean that mortals have a in Thedas a body far more resistent then our own, which is howewer proven wrong in cutscenes.

If you play in hard or nightmare Ogre's grab, overwhelm and such were a one hit KO unless you had a rogue or a mage that incapacitated the target, same from Dragon's munch. But if you ask me Dragons in Skyrim were just punny to the bone... so punny that Vampires could beat them one on one if you ask me

I think they did with stupid weapon restrictions... dual daggers? sorry no rogues this time.

No armor decay actually makes more sense than the other way around, we have a partially military organzation, how good would it be without weaponsmiths to maintain all the weapons, the alone the leader's gear ?

Not as good as they might look. Inquisitor still has to collect all the crafting materials by hand.

I complained so much when they brought in regenerating health.

Most of their games don't have it. And I think it's a bad idea overall, because it largely eliminates the need for strategic thinking in combat, instead emphasising tactical thinking.

I'd rather do both.

Hah! Batman has no super powers, I doubt you could even lift him!

I usually let Avernus live, but that's a big no to the Architect. The only good Darkspawn is a dead one.

Leave Batman alone.

As for me, I'm usually the same. I let Avernus live (provided he does "good" experiments) but kill the Architect. Not every playthrough, of course, but my "canon" playthrough (and the first I import into DAI) will follow that.

If they take away Health Regen, and leave Magical healing, you still get your wish, as the latter has always been optional. As long as I am not forced into performing alchemy, I shall be relatively fine.

Not if they balance it for healing.

I what you describe would only work if magical healing was also somehow limited (which appears to be the case in Inquisition).

I like the way it is now. Health doesn't fully regen, healing is limited (just like DnD of any version before 4), and you have a combination of strategic (long-term) and tactical (short-term) thinking going on.

Perhaps, but the various options in DA2 seemed to work for me, once I figured out ways to eliminate the need for Anders. One could use another with healing Spells, or take more potions than usual; maybe others. Personally, I tend to reject the MMO typing applications as a rule, and return to older PnP methods.

It is only that I dislike Alchemy as a rule, and prefer to leave this for the NPC's, if possible. Am hoping that that they can be tasked with this separately, as in SWTOR; not just directly.

No equipment decay!

Why this was even asked about? Did we ever had armor-weapon decay in Dragon Age games?

And why question "Is it possible for mages to heal between the fights" was never answered anywhere?

Given that DA2 would drop potions as loot based on how many you had with you (if you had lots, there wouldn't be any in the loot - if you didn't have enough they'd appear as loot often), that further simplified healing in the game.

I like resource management. I want the game to require it, not reward its lack.

How will cooldown work with abilities? —@FreshRevenge, Twitter, United States

[MARK DARRAH]: Cooldowns are still there. You can have eight abilities mapped on the console, which gives you opportunities.

[DK]: Different abilities have different cooldowns, which can sometimes be reduced with upgrades or passives. Particularly powerful abilities may have relatively long cooldowns, making you carefully choose when to use them—or perhaps to combo them with abilities that reset your cooldowns.

Only 8 abilities mapped on the interface? Even on PC version? Does this mean we are stuck with the circle of abilities shown in the demos for pc?

Or by mapped on the "console", it means console version only, and not the interface.

I want so much to see the PC interface...

If you play on PC try playing On Legendary Difficulty with the mods Deadly Dragons on Insane Setting and Dragon Combat Overhaul, Dragon Become Epic again with a little patience ;)

This seems to be the best place to post my reservations about the gameplay I've learned about so far, from watching gameplay videos and reading the Q&A...

On the one hand, I'm excited about the chance for tactical and intelligent gameplay... however, so far it seems quite complicated and with so many things to keep track of (limited potions, tactical positioning, lack of healing, etc). I'm wondering how well it will be implemented and if it will alienate many gamers by its difficulty.

I'm mostly excited about what I've seen, but I just hope it doesn't become a convoluted mess.
