This is one of the things I really like about RPG's. I get to start the story over, but maintain all the perks I built into my character from a previous playthrough. Adjusting the level cap goes without saying if this is ever put into the game. What does everyone else think?
Is a new game + out of the question?

There is no new game plus, but you'll be able to continue playing after the ending.

Game Plus seems to be a out of favour these days, maybe it's just the games I'm buying but I haven't seen it for a while.

You shouldn't need to new game + in an open-world RPG.

Aye, but Inquisition isn't an open world RPG.

I'm a fan of NG+. It makes me want to play games more often, keeping some of the end-game gear I only got to spend a little time with.

It isn't. It has expanded and larger levels compared to its predecessors, but it is not an open world RPG in the vein of an Elder Scrolls title.
That's too bad then. I still wouldn't want new game plus.

I want it. It would allow players who would like to restart at level one to do so and make their new characters while players like myself who dedicate themselves to one character can continue playing as the same character with their gear and levels.

Why can't people who want to restart just start a new character?

You know... I had written something but realized it was already brought up in the OP so I'll just say that I don't enjoy New Game + because it's unrealistic to start off so powerful. A game like this is better when you begin with very few skills and have to earn more power over the course of the adventure. Just my opinion, of course...

People like to play games differently. Some would start completely anew, while others would prefer to carry the same character over and re-experience at the game with their end-game status. Its how gaming works.

Mass Effect had a good New Game + system, but the level cap is so low in DAI that I don't see the point. I have no desire to play the game from start to finish on a max level character.
Funny enough if it was possible in both DAO and DA2 through game exploits;patched in DA2 but not so in DAO, I believe.
You can hit max level before you talk to Morrigan in the Korcari Wilds.

I wouldn't have enjoyed that at all, so I never used the exploit. But that's just me...

Ahh, but there are people that would, and have. Hence the requests over the years for its integration.

I'm not denying that, I'm only giving my own opinion. If the leveling system was balanced around this, and perhaps if the enemies were stronger by default the second time around, then I might be interested. It worked somewhat well in Dark Souls, although they seem to have forgotten to re-balance the bosses, so only the normal enemies were stronger... In Dragon's Dogma, however, I found it to be a complete waste of time because nothing changed and I was so powerful that I could kill a goblin by breathing in its general direction. On the other hand, there are people who have gone through the Dragon's Dogma "cycle" 2-3 times without getting bored... some people also play games on the lowest difficulty setting. It's just not for me.
Even with automatic rebalancing, I still wouldn't like the idea of having that much power to start off, but I would be willing to try it I guess... it was fine in Mass Effect 1, after all. On the other hand, Shepard was supposed to have started the game as a veteran spec ops soldier, yet by default he was a level 1 grunt... ![]()

There doesn't need to be a difficulty increase in a NG+ playthrough, though developers will add one or leave as is depending. I've played both, had no problems with either.

Sorry, but now you've lost me.
That sounds pretty boring...
Can we at least have the option to play on an unlockable "Harder than Nightmare" difficulty level in NG+?

While I really enjoyed Dragon's Dogma, I wish the enemies would either A. Get a huge health/damage boost in NG+, or B. Scale with the player. Even the Bitterblack Isle enemies became little more than speed bumps after I hit level 200 and found some good gear.

Like how NWN let you start the game with a high-level character, even though it was low-level content.

NG+ content should be available the first time you play the game. The player shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get it.

Where's the fun in that? Starting off as a high level character most of the fights will be boring.
