NG+ is the same as playing with godmode. No sense of achievements whatssoever

We are not talking about a Platinum Game here where the fun is solely focused in the gameplay -- There are plenty of reasons why one could start a New Game Plus.

I don't get why it bothers blokes that aren't gonna make use of the feature in the first place, anyway. No one is holding you at gun point telling you start the game with the same character again. If you want a sense of challenge then the game's difficulty setting should suffice.

I like to have new game plus.

I've also read that the game can be played after the main story is completed. Just like ME2

Aye, it can have both.

Yes it can. And if both options are available for DAI, I won't complain

Because:

  1. "A New Game Plus (or New Game+) is an unlockable video game mode that allows the player to start a new game after they finish the game at least once, where certain aspects of the finished game, such as experience or items, affect the newly started game."

Certain aspects, such as, examples not only things ever.  Sheesh.

Various Tales games had new game plus, in it, once you finished the game, depending on the number of things you did you got a number of points you could use to buy various perks as boosts in your next play through.

I suppose that despite being called new game plus, being unlocked when you beat the game, and the boosts coming from what you did in that game as boons in the new game plus, it was something other than new game plus.

I guess that I wouldn't mind a NG+, but I wouldn't mind if there's none either.

It was rather fun in Borderlands 2 (Normal, True Vault Hunter, and Ultimate Vault Hunter), but it was also fitting for it. I'm not sure if it would fit DA:I... but why not, no one would be obliged to play a NG+ anyway if they wouldn't want to, so either way I don't mind. One thing though... someone mentioned that we'll be able to play the game after we complete it, is that accurate? I must have missed that information if it was confirmed.

EDIT: Ah, never mind, found the info: http://www.examiner....letely-optional So that's not exactly a NG+, but it'll be possible to complete missed/avoided/ignored side quests after the main narrative arc is completed. I guess it's better than nothing.

I would like ng+ since when your late in the game and you might get some powerful weapon or armour but only get to use it for a little bit and when you beat the game theres not many other missions left.

I would like to use this equipment in new game + from the beginning and not late in the game to give me more time to use it. Like with Hawkes champion armor a great set but you can only get it in act 3 and i would of liked to have used it for more then just one act.

I would prefer it somewhere along the lines of what they did with the original Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins DLC. You do certain things and you get bonuses related to that. I'm a big fan of the Tales Of series NG+ system so I wouldn't mind something like that either.

Edit: The reason I'd like a NG+ is that I'll probably replay the game and it would make it go a bit faster due to the help provided by the NG+ bonuses or achievement bonuses.

You shouldn't need to new game + in an open-world RPG.

except if you want to play that character again, maybe better, maybe with the same level of challenge throughout (instead of a ramp). as it is you have to delete your character or abandon them if you want to do the first.

Aye, but Inquisition isn't an open world RPG.

it is, actually.

I would love a NG+ after I've beaten the game I would just love to go back through just for story sake with all my gear and skills. I really hated in previous DA games I had to create my character again and grind for XP again, just to enjoy the story a second time around.

I myself would really like a new game + option. If you can play as a necromancer I would love to be able to use those powers from the get go  :P

because it would require them to use resources (time, money) that could be allocated to things others find more important (gameplay, extra missions/story, more companion content)

Evidently that's not the issue, given the few counterpoints there have been seemingly made. And while I can't pretend I actually have an iota of understanding on game design I'd argue that a new game plus is hardly something that would take strain out of the game's resources given it is merely a 'new game' option where you import all your stuff. Tons of different games have it -- It's a neat little option that makes starting a new game more fun and engaging, especially when you're also granted the option of changing the difficulty to make sure there's still a challenge to be had.

Also, get off your high horse -- New Game Plus is "gameplay" and you're hardly the person to decide what's important content and what isn't.
