drama only happens when a female gamer gets dissed by a male gamer, it's like opening a can of tensions between both genders. if they can overcome this, then here will be very strong presence of community that's united between female gamers and male gamers to work together to weed out the bad apples so to say.
Drama (in my experience) happens when #1: men react to the female gamer in an unappreciated manner (usually insults),
#2" Because there is drama in the community regardless of the presence of a female gamer,
#3: when a male/female gamer (thanks to society it is noticed more - not statistically seen - just noticed more when it is female) starts randomly hitting on people in the community which causes the virgins (noticed more when male - also not meant in a derogatory fashion) to get super excited into fighting for the attention of the instigator.
It's not an exact list, and I may have rambled on there, but it is generally the cause of drama. In my experience the root cause is usually #2, which is then followed by #2. I have only noticed #3 on about 3 occasions (one when it was a guy - that got awkward fast), but it also was usually preceded by #1.
if they can overcome this, then here will be very strong presence of community that's united between female gamers and male gamers to work together to weed out the bad apples so to say.

drama only happens when a female gamer gets dissed by a male gamer.
That's complete nonsense. Drama more often happens because female gamers often can't separate their real-life drama from the game or they start to have romantic affairs with the guild leader or someone else in the guild, or they get mixed up in a love triangle where two or more guys start fighting for her with each other. Female gamers also often use their female manipulation skills to get things her way and set people up against each other. If necessary, the female gamer won't shy away from using strong emotionally loaded terms and play the victim in order to manipulate the male guild members into doing her bidding. Before you know it, you'll get falsely accused of being a sexist pig who supposedly harassed her. It is then your word versus hers, and because she is a special snowflake (because gurllllll gamerrrrrrr) and you're just an average dude, she will obviously get the benefit of the doubt, while in reality she's just a manipulative c*nt.
When the drama finally becomes too much for the guild leader and he decided to step down from his leadership position because he just can't take it anymore, the girl gamer will make sure he appoint her as the new leader. And because she is a special snowflake (because gurlllll gamerrrrr) she most likely will get that leadership position.
Congratulations, you are now in a small little dictatorship ran by a female gamer. Enjoy your new gaming experience where you will basically be her worker and just a pawn to help her getting her legendary gear. She will let you know when she needs you, and at the same time she will let you know when you are no longer wanted. You're basically now her male harem together with all your other male buddies. But don't worry, she will eventually grow bored of the game and the lack of drama. She will then hop to another guild or another game entirely. By that time your guild most likely already has fallen apart. If not, then your guild might have a chance to recover and become the good old fun guild it used to be before you let gurlllll gamerrrrrsssss screw up your guild.
And you know, I'm not even mad at the girl gamers abusing the fact that they're (one of) the only female(s) in the guild to get what they want. I'm mad at my fellow male gamers who just let this crap happen. I'm mad at the men who actually defend bullcrap behavior from girl gamers like this. Men, wake the f*** up and stay vigilant. When a girl gamer enters your guild, if there is even a slightest hint she's gonna cause trouble, don't hesitate to kick her from the guild. She's not a special snowflake, she's just another nerd gamer who sh!ts and pisses just like the rest of us.

Yes, I would mind. I'm here to play a game, not to be harassed.
but but
its so nice when u know ur so good looking people would commit murder to be with you :<
and i don't feel harassed at all : /
why is it so different, I'm a guy and i get hit on a lot but I don't mind... why do women call it harassment and I call it ego boost !!?

Posté 24 août 2014 - 01:35
I'm not a woman but I think it depends on what kind of people are hitting on you. It's a bit of a duality here.
Lets be honest, when someone is hitting on you, it's a compliment. We know this, women know this too. So of course we feel flattered when someone is hitting on us, women feel that way too. But if the guy/girl hitting on you is a loser or just a f*cking weirdo of course you're gonna be turned off by it as well.
We all want to get hit on, we just don't want to get hit on by losers. I think that goes double for women. I'm pretty sure most women love the attention they get from men, it's just too bad that most online gaming men who hit on them are overweight and/or socially-awkward losers. Maybe it's different in the LGBT community, I wouldn't know (however I do notice that homosexual men in general tend to take a lot better care of themselves and their looks, and often are better-looking than the average heterosexual men).
ahhh u might be on to something
and yes gay men (even the average looking ones) are still wayyyyyy better options than some hetro men and women, better hygiene and they smell nice too mmmm...OK off topic now XD
and yes I do see the problem if that attention just turns to constant trolling or worst insults because they are "girls" and they are auto branded noobs from the start

Because there's a difference in harassment and hitting on someone.
And many dudes have no idea how to talk to women/flirt with them.

Exactly.
I sometimes invite a female friend from outside of my guild to my guild's Teamspeak so I can play and talk with her. The reactions from some of my guildies after hearing her voice just makes me wanna facepalm. It's a good reminder why I have the no-women-allowed policy in my guild and why that was such a good choice. I have that policy to protect the women just as much as I have it to protect my guild.

Haha, really?
-Only- then? It has nothing to do with it.
I've seen it happen many times, gal trying to use her femininity to get things or to advance her own agenda inside the community. Or getting into fight with another gal over one guy. Male only communities tend to have less drama, if the community's average age is above 20.
Guys don't have to be mean towards gals or anything like that for things to go wrong. Some girls do like to be just one of the guys and that usually works fine, but as soon as one wants to get treated differently than the rest simply because of their gender, you'll start having problems. Demanding more sensitivity when it comes to feedback or such.
The tensions only arise, when a minority wants to change how the majority prefers things to be run. I by no means want to exclude women from any groups that I am part of, I know a few girls who I really enjoy gaming with. They happen to have the right kind of mentality.
The same kind problems have risen even in workplaces when a company/field, with mainly male workers, gets some ladies in there, that come there and don't wish to adjust their way of doing into that of the majority's. They want to make changes that mostly, benefit only them. This is same that has happened in number of groups I've been part of over the years. Group is forced to make changes, that ends up requiring more work and effort from most of the other members, just to cater to this new princess. It isn't right and if I have any power in a group and something like that is about to go down, I will put an end to it.

I see all these comments about how women creates drama and it ****** pisses me off! It's sexist and it comes from guys who have their pride wounded because they have lost to female players online and somehow it has hurt their manlyhood so lets all blame it on the women to make up for it shall we! And that way you pathetic guys can give the rest of the good guys out there a bad reputation!
It's funny... because the only times I have experienced drama while playing online have somehow been caused by men, coincidence? I think not! If I use a male or neutral username, it's either these scenarios:
A: I end up winning over some guys and they say "well done dude, lets be friends!", then when I reveal I'm a girl... they suddenly say "biiiiitch, you are going down in next round, you are a ****** wh0re", drama caused by guys.....
B: I don't win and I reveal I'm a girl and they say "hey, what's your name? Do you have a boyfriend? Are you naughty?" One even sent me a pic of his dick once, no joking! and when I say no and tell them to **** off, I again get the whole wh0re and b!thc thing, so once again... drama caused by guys...
POINT MADE!

Most of my PSN buddies are female, and I've had to delete certain male ones from my list because of their abuse towards them. Then you get labeled " The White Knight " which I find hilarious I would have done the same thing for them if the roles had been reversed.
I do the right thing because it's the right thing, not for reward or gratification. If you ever stand up for a girl prepare for the fallout from certain male friends. World sure is f*cked up sometimes, glad I'm just passing through. We are all just people getting by, let's try to look out for each other a bit more couldn't hurt you know.

I've recently become obsessed with Bungie's Destiny and I plan on picking a female Guardian as my main character when the game finally becomes available but recent trips to the Bungie forums have suggested that men should not choose to play as a female character because it ruins their desperate attempts to find a female gamer online and seduce them.

Seems like one more reason I avoid MMOs. Sounds like there's plenty of drama going on. Got my ass handed to me on a regular basis by female gamers in Street Fighter. Never bothered me a bit. In fact the women usually talked less smack.

I'm very sympathetic to the plight of female gamers, I have been ever since I first played 'Phantasy Star Online' online for the first time using my female Hunter. I had been logged on for less than 30 minutes and I had already been propositioned by multiple guys not to mention some of the things that were said towards me, one guy even went through all the trouble of building various pornographic images using comas, question marks and various other punctuation marks and then repeatedly spamming them at me using his chat short cuts. The only way to stop the harassment was to tell these people that I was really a man, most got the picture and then left me alone, others refused to believe me and instead intensified their harassment because PSO did not support 'chatting' back in those days so the only way to communicate was via text. Needless to say the experience made me very uncomfortable and very wearing of interacting with the online community.

I remember Phantasy Star online, I used to play that all the time and boy it was bad with guys there, there were some really desperate ones hitting on me but it wasn't just hitting on me on a normal way, it was in a vulgar disgusting way, they were terrible and it's really sad cause such types give the rest of you good guys a bad reputation. Not all guys are like those idiots, I have a lot of good guys friends on both my bsn and xbox live account.

i noticed
many of my straight friends envy my "chick" attraction powers, I can have 3-5 women around me at work in under 2 minutes and they don't know im gay XD which kinda kills them even more LOL

Drama is caused by people of both genders.
So yes, Women often create drama. So do men. Just on WoW I've seen plenty of examples of both.

I never said it was only the mens fault, I said I was pissed with the ones saying that it was all womens fault, cause there are some guys here who has been saying that and also says that they rarely play with women because of that and blaaaaaa, THAT'S what I was pissed about. Of course both genders create drama but certainly not JUST women, that was my point.

who's to say who was to blame for this? nobody. it's their choices that defines them in a way from the view of other gamers.
you have to understand that here are so many female working in a fields/jobs that was once occupied by males. the world is changing for better for both genders to work together. if you look back to Sarah Palin (that lady who run for president back then) granted that she would have been first Female President. but we have reasons to not like Sarah Palin. (it's those VERY same kinds of reasons that creates our thoughts which defined our choices to act out on them)
and I can say, as female gamer I am disgusted with male gamers who keep sterotyping female gamers as bad. we are very good at gaming if you let us have chance to prove it.
that happened to me like five times for no good reasonB: *snip*
