I'd play it. Two damage boosts, stagger immunity, wall hax, two rate of fire boosts, two regen skills, two speed boosts.

That's also the definition of monstrously over-powered.

One can always hope that the accuracy and RoF bonuses exceed 100% and contribute negatively causing every gun to have the accuracy of a non-SC raider. :P

Yeah I was going to go with

Sentry Turret

Sabotage

Homing Grenades.

:wizard:

Give saboturian some credit. For some reason, AFAIK the homing grenades are considered a tech power so sabotage does buff them, giving him a little synergy. Sure the turret is useless as always, and the grenades are still worse than stickies even with the tech vulnerability damage, rendering him functionally a variation on the QFI with a bit more shields, easier to use but worse grenades, better passives and no cloak.

He isn't completely hopeless like the Volus merc....

QFT. That would surely put the GI to shame XD

And no, Slasher, that would only mean that you need not to put a SC on any shotgun. Don't do that, spec MM the right way, and you have the same accuracy bonuses you have with a MMed shotgun with a Tsol. Which means you'd also have one more mod slot for your Raider...

Incorrect. With the Biotic Orbs debuff you could fairly significantly boost the DPS of your phase disruptor shots. And Phase Disruptor is powerful no matter what class it's on.

How about this?

Submission Net

Poison Strike

Decoy

no, because having submission net to keep a target in place would actually make poison strike viable off host, if in a ridiculously inefficient manner. There is a little bit of synergy there.

I'm legitimately struggling to come up with something worse than what the Volus merc already has. I thought about switching shield boost for sentry turret, but even that would at least be good for trolling purposes as you could theoretically lock up nearly half the enemy units on the field at once.

The Tech Vulnerability evo in Sabotage doesn't buff Homing Grenades damage. The Turret (shock evo only), heavy melee and any Tech Bursts primed by Sabotage do benefit from it though.

The Volus Sentinel isn't hopeless either. He can completely trivialize some of the most annoying enemies in the game, can be invisible for almost the whole match and has Shield Boost.

derp....glad I have never gotten down experimenting with him like I intended to.

All that is nice if you have teammates to actually kill the things for you. Personally, I don't find invisibly running in circles trying to avoid rape by spamming my stupid pets and regenning my shields to be a very fun way to play. Sure, you could put Reegar or Carrier on him so he can actually kill things, but you can do that with any kit and that's boring as hell anyway.

I'm not claiming it's the best kit but no characters in this game are hopeless. The Volus Merc against Geth or Cerberus in particular is very far from hopeless.

You don't need teammates to actually kill things for you, one of the easier platinum solos I completed was using the Volus Merc with the Venom against Geth. And you missed the point of the kit, I think. You don't have to run around in circles trying not to die, the two pets plus the aggro drop from cloak mean you dictate where and when to fight - you shouldn't even need Shield Boost a great deal.

And if you don't want to use the Harrier or Reegar, the following all work well too - Arc Pistol, GPS, Graal, Claymore, CSR, PPR, Lancer, Typhoon, Talon, Wraith, Venom, Javelin, CSMG.

How about a Drell with Barrier, Carnage, and Hawk Missiles?

(on an unrelated note, I really want a Volus that just has Hawk Missile Launcher three times. He would have zero shields, awful health, but would launch a turret-rate stream of rockets towards every enemy on the map whilst invisible :P)

A drell without any powers is still better than every other character......because it's a drell

Don't deny it, they are objectively terrible. I can't even facetank an atlas rocket with them or sprint through ravager poop so they must be awful.

You're right. They can sprint over ravager goo like they have wings instead of feet :P

Go have your daily dose of dextro soup, you filthy nomad! :P

The point is that they have low shields :P

Really, their extra 10% movement speed isn't all that great(I mean, it's great, but not gamebreakingly great). Objectively, the volus forevercloak is probably better if you can sustain it properly. Their passives are good too, i suppose...

Fine, make it a Volus.

Same skills. Barrier, Carnage, Hawks.

Alternatively,

Electrical Hammer

Biotic Hammer

AP arrows

Normal human with no hammer or omnibow.

Or, they just die hilariously and ragdoll 10m forward because of their red-sand trip induced speed.

I will, and fortunately it isn't ruined because my superior quarian shields can tank ravagers with my soup intact.
