Really, their extra 10% movement speed isn't all that great(I mean, it's great, but not gamebreakingly great). Objectively, the volus forevercloak is probably better if you can sustain it properly. Their passives are good too, i suppose...

It's not 10%. It's 20% if you spec fully into fitness, which you always should. Plus, their base speed is already much higher than any other race's, and their acceleration is just off the charts.

They're the most mobile race in this game, and that *is* gamebreakingly good. This game is all about positioning. If you can position yourself better and faster, you're going to do better than someone else, pretty much no matter what bonuses the other guy has.

kinda OP Speed Boost from Hunter mode helps counteract the speed penalty from devastator mode

 

and the optional shield bonus from DM would help counteract Hunter Mode's only actual penalty

I'd play it. Two damage boosts, stagger immunity, wall hax, two rate of fire boosts, two regen skills, two speed boosts.

This thread seems not to have been properly addressed so far. People just list powers they don't like, but it seems the worst combo would be something that doesn't do much damage and doesn't synergize well with anything. So turrets and drones are logically off the table because they can easily be set up to do loads of damage. Likewise hex shield.

 

I'd be working on something like biotic sphere with Salarian decoy and tac scan. On a Warlord. With a Shuriken.

Tac Scan and an offensive biotic sphere would be pretty beastly though.  Throw in a decent shotgun and you'd wreck most things.

Hi, my name is marksmad and I'm quite often a HME.

 

Drones and turrets do decent damage on all levels. Their issue on Gold and Plat is survivability, because they get taken out fast by Phantoms and equivalent. But they kill quite a few mooks if cast into a crowd.

 

The drone specced for rockets puts the random but not infrequent "616 kill" into the feed when it can wander around and sneak up on Cannibals and Marauders. They take out Ravagers quite handily given time, and mMine also took out a Brute and an Atlas yesterday 

 

Remember that a lot of BSN wisdom is based on hearing it from someone else, not trying it oneself.

 

For all those who are about to jump down my throat, no, I did not try to say that the drone is a better power than anything else, just that it's hardly stupidly useless.

Valiant + Cryo. Decoy keeps Geth/Cerberus/Captains/Marauders off your back, incinerate is 'OP', ED is awesome. Cryo allows easy headshots + armour weakening, you can tech burst, fire explosion, cryo explosion, at will, Salarian shields are surprisingly epic, they have great dodge.

 

Salarian Engineer is ridiculously underrated.

When I first started playing Silver and found it hard, it was the SE that helped me crack it, and the first kit that made me understand how to mix powers and weapons and how to use ED for survivability. I didn't have a Valiant (uncommons only) but he worked well even with a Locust.

 

I think people may underrate him because the Paladin has all the best stuff of the SE's, plus snap freeze and the fire shield. And the decoy clearly was nerfed to hell at some stage, which doesn't help.

Please, I'm a scientific speciest. Racism totally isn't cool. It's not like ME3 multiplayer where you can choose your race via skin tone/ helmet visor colour. A quarian with a purple visor and one with a blue visor are equal in my book, but both are superior to a salarian or drell of any colour due to science. Hope this clears things up.

You've lost me. Turrets actually do something other than making a silly noise with blinding visual flame effects and (in the case of geth) recharging my shields when I spam them at my feet?

Despite their lack of Biotic godliness, I have recently come to accept the fact that Quarians are vastly superior to other organics. And they can easily take credit for Geth. While I may disagree with some of their actions, I have come to realise they are pretty epic....
