My current character is a S&S Warrior Reaver/Berserker. I wanted to see if I could successfully make a S&S warrior a DPS dealer instead of a tank, and I think I've actually figured out a way to make it work.
Anyway, Reaver is actually my favorite specialization for warriors. As it is basically the warrior's version of a blood mage, you want to make sure you have high strength and especially high constitution, as half of the Reaver's talents either drain health continuously or cause a penalty to health regeneration. Here is a rundown of my opinion of the Reaver's talents:
1) Devour: You can use this to regain some health from corpses, but it doesn't always work. The corpses have to die and Devour activated within a certain time frame for it to work (I think it's roughly a 10 second time frame). And certain types of enemy corpses don't seem to work. So, it's a useful talent, but unreliable.
2) Frightening Appearance: This is a nice talent. It doesn't cost any health, and it works on a lot of enemies (I think enemies with yellow names and under. Anything higher, like orange and red, will likely resist.). It basically terrifies/stuns the enemy so that they can't move for a time while you wail on them. It also makes "Threaten" and "Taunt" more effective.
3) Aura of Pain: My least favorite talent in the tree. It's a sustainable, and while you have it activated you take constant spirit damage but so do any nearby enemies. However, it doesn't really do a ton of spirit damage to enemies in my experience, and it can drain your health quickly. So, it can be useful in large crowds to soften them up, but I wouldn't leave it activated for too long.
4) Blood Frenzy: A very nice sustainable that I always have activated. Basically, the more damage you take, the more damage you do. I will often run into the middle of crowds and start wailing on some enemies while others attack me. My constitution is usually high enough that I can take a lot of damage, but the more I get hit, the faster I kill things because of the increased damage bonus. Basically, with this talent, think pain=good. However, this mode does have a penalty to health regeneration. But the Berserker specialization can provide a bonus to health regeneration, which offsets the Blood Frenzy penalty.
I am currently wearing the Blood Dragon Armor with my Reaver character, as the armor provides health bonuses, which is nice. I rarely die, so I think everything's working out. ![]()
Is Reaver better than Berserker? Um, I like them both and think they compensate each other well. Berserker gives you additional damage, and as I mentioned, provides a health regeneration bonus which can offset the health regeneration penalty from Reaver's "Blood Frenzy."

There are 2 types of Reaver builds in my opinion. Tank Reaver and DPS Reaver. Some examples for you.
Tank Reaver: Uses Frightening Appearance to enhance Taunt for higher aggro drawing.
DPS Reaver: Use Berserk and Blood Frenzy to get huge damage bonuses on enemies.
