I guess Bioware thought Sera would be good enough to get them over Cass being straight?

I think Bioware's thinking was "At least two for everybody."

I wanted to romance Miranda, couldn't.
I wanted to romance Morrigan, couldn't.
And NOW, I can't romance Cassandra.
Why must you tease me with powerful, independent, kick-ass, brunette women that are untouchable.
WHY
Don't forget Jack from Mass Effect. ![]()

it would be nice if Vivienne is a bi romance giving female player characters 3 f/f romances but I don't want to get my hopes up

Thing is I really had no interest in sera and Josephine feels like (hope she isn't) she just gonna be another traynor. Plus I have a thing for the serious type that falls for you kinda thing Like naoto and mitsuru from persona so hearing that sera was the "wild card" didn't help. Oh wellI guess Bioware thought Sera would be good enough to get them over Cass being straight?

Extra points to you for being a Persona fan and a fan of the lovely Naoto Shirogane! I love that girl, actually I think Josephine will be better than Traynor since Bioware did say the Adviser romances have just as much content as the companions they just don't join your party and I wouldn't judge Sera until you've tried her.

Also I wonder if we're gonna have another mass effect moment where we find evidence that Cassandra was originally gonna be biExtra points to you for being a Persona fan and a fan of the lovely Naoto Shirogane! If I remember right, one of the devs clarified that may have simply been a case where they had both Meer and Hale record each line even if it wasn't for their gender. Apparently, there's even a line of Meer saying "But I'm a woman" or so in the dialogue with Liara.

@KC_Prototype, OP is going to, but she also went into a daze/faint with Josie as an option.....well....starry eyed, drooled....something like that. ![]()

I'm still holding on to the hope that the last two LI's are bi (i'm thinking Vivi and Solas) and both genders having 6 options, 6 for males (1 straight, 1 gay and 4 bi) and 6 for females (1 straight, 1 gay and 4 bi) but thats probably to good to be true.

It is like in reality, you know. Not every person is bi. Deal with it.

Oh yeah like a reaction like that was needed, cute that you think that matters to any of us deal with it

Also, Josphinve's bi, totally hot, and a darling of the developers. So those who want the Girl/Gilrl are not going to miss out, I think.
I've wanted to romance Cassandra since DA2 and was hoping Bioware would make the actually butch woman gay or at least bi for once. I am extremely dissapointed they decided not to.
I have already talked about this at length with Allan in another short lived feedback thread about romance troupes, so at least the developers are (hopefully, please God) somewhat aware that this troupe of making the tough, tomboyish, butch women straight to seemingly avoid "stereotyping" is actually really obnoxious and is becoming a stereotype in and of itself in Bioware games. "Women with masculine traits can't possibly be gay, that's absurd." lol.

"Because, it's kinda like in reality, there are no flying mounts, duh. Deal with it."

I have to say it was a bit of a shock the very moment they named her a companion I figured she would swing both ways

Yeah, I know Cassandra fits an archetype that you and a lot of women like. There's nothing that I can say other than I hope when the game comes out you'll be pleasantly surprised by Sera and Josephine.

That was my hope. And the only consolation we got was from Gaider saying "Well I hope you will enjoy her friendship storyline at least" and I'm sitting here thinking...Nah man, nah, lol.
And as for Sera and Josephine, I hope I am pleasantly surprised too, because I don't really care much for either of them based on what we know atm.

well you know I am pro Sera I love everything I have learned about her so far, I am also happy about Josephine, and now after hearing her voice actress I so hope Vivi is also a bi love interest so female player characters can have 3 F/F romances, its a stretch but it could happen

Sera looks like a lot of fun, and I think will be worth me rolling a femquisitor to explore. As for Josi? She's hot, and fits an archtype of a woman whose competent, but not in a martial way. So yeah. DAI's going to consume my life.

It's weird that the same type of women always turns out to be straight in Bioware games. Both Miranda and Morrigan are powerful, cold blooded, serious, very intelligent and with more knowledge about the world than any other companion. Jack, Ashley and Cassandra are powerful, strong, straightforward, rough and tough. The bisexual or lesbian women however are always described as funny, shy, clumsy or flirty. Why not do it vice versa? And why not create a male character who's like Miranda? It gets really boring and predictable. I hope, Vivienne will be bisexual, just because it would be our first cold blooded character who's available to females as well. And I hope there's a male character who's as intelligent as Miranda and Morrigan this time.

Can I just say how awesome I think this thread is? I was literally laughing like crazy while reading through the first 3 pages! ![]()
As for the current convo, I'm probably going to do all the romances except the m/m ones, tbh. m/m romances aren't really to my taste. I will romance either Sera or Solas on my first playthrough, though.
It depends on whether or not Solas is confirmed, but my gut is telling me that he and Vivienne are going to be confirmed next. For which gender? idk.
I usually roll male for my first playthrough, but I thought that I should switch it up this time, so I'm going female first. ![]()
As for the archetypes, I wouldn't mind a rough and tumble bi female LI, tbh. A character like Misty from Black Ops 2 Zombies (yes, I am talking about COD) that's always up for a fight and stands up for what she thinks is right while also being bi. Would make for an interesting experience. ![]()
Or maybe a female character that wants to do good, but only knows anger and pain due to her past. She could know that the ends don't always justify the means, but she might not care because either 1) she's trying to separate her feelings from her judgement, or 2) she feels like she's so alone that she doesn't give a damn what other people think about her actions. Would be an interesting character to romance, imo. ![]()
