well, at least for Solas, it's heavily implied that he will be a LI. I hope Vivienne is the second one.

yeah Solas's voice actor did kind of hint at it in a tweet but who knows, after hearing her voice actress I am really pulling for Vivi lol

I would find it odd if she isn't, then wouldn't be balanced 4f/4m if she isn't that is. I wouldn't find that too appealing but, will see. ![]()

I am hoping things end up like this
For Males
Cassandra (Straight)
Dorian (Gay)
Iron Bull (Bi)
Josephine (Bi)
Vivienne (Bi)
Solas (Bi)
1 straight, 1 gay, 4 bi= 6 for males
For Females
Cullen (Straight)
Sera (Gay)
Iron Bull (Bi)
Josephine (Bi)
Vivienne (Bi)
Solas (Bi)
1 straight, 1 gay, 4 bi= 6 for females
of course not figuring in race gating but that would still give both males and females 6, though I know this is TOO perfect and probably won't happen but its nice to hope.

Other sentient living creatures are permitted to have opinions as well, I believe. Unless you're Russian. I hear that it's bad for you then.
Ahahaha ![]()
Both, eh, ethnicist, offensive and ignorant
Try to talk to a russian guy or girl and make them shut up about their opinions
It won't be pretty

I can't really understand wtf seems to be the problem with those people. I mean, come on. It is a game. If you want to have a go with a straight character, go make your hero of the opposite sex, it's not that difficult is it. It's an rpg you can roleplay whatever you want to roleplay.
Also, I think we all should be grateful for having so many LIs in the first place. It shouldn't really matter that we can't have them all with only 1 character, we still have a possibility.

Oh yeah like a reaction like that was needed, cute that you think that matters to any of us deal with it
"Bioware, why didn't you include any flying mounts in DAI?"
"Because, it's kinda like in reality, there are no flying mounts, duh. Deal with it."
Why all the hate? I haven't said anything to attack you. What I am saying is that Bioware makes natural characters, as if they were present in reality.
When I romanced Kaidan in ME, it was quite surprising for me that it occured in ME3 that he is bi. I have thought for the entire game that he is into women only (and I spent playing the rest of the game quite upset about the fact that it is not true). Since the game is for everyone, there must be some limitations. You want every character to be bi (which probably wouldn't be that bad idea), and I would like some characters to not to be bi (as it was in ME).
Don't get me wrong, I am not attacking you. I am just presenting my point of view.
Edit: And, yeah, I wanted to romance Sera as a male, but I can't ![]()

Alright, there's obviously thousands of forums/replies/hate going around Cassandra and Cullen being straight and I have to agree with them. I was really looking forward to romancing Cassandra.
I wanted to romance Miranda, couldn't.
I wanted to romance Morrigan, couldn't.
And NOW, I can't romance Cassandra.
At least you changed the beginning letter. Way to go.
Why must you tease me with powerful, independent, kick-ass, brunette women that are untouchable.

The funny thing is that the reverse also triggers outrage.
She's a lesbian? Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!
She's straight? Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!
She's bisexual? Is she hot according to my own personal standards that not everyone shares? No? Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!

I know, the men get it too.

Expressing an opinion is one thing, making thread after thread without bothering to look for previous ones to express the same opinion gets a little tiresome.
I miss the innuendos

I told myself a couple of days ago that I would never discuss this subject again but I'm going to one more time.
Cassandra is not a woman she is a character in a game that was chosen by the writers to be straight. Cassandra's orientation could have been anything they wanted it to be. I have nothing against straight woman as some of my best friends are straight women. I have the right to say that I'm disappointed that the character that is by far the most appealing to me is not available to me. Cassandra has been featured on a book cover, a magazine cover and a poster and every time I see one I get more disappointed. If people feel they need to criticize me for feeling this way go right ahead.

Yes. They may also call her Mary Sue, she can also likes everything you do or say (even if you talk sh*t about her faith, for example, or approve of something nuts much like what Anders did) and also can have absolutely no issue with you being a mage or qunari or whatever.
Doesn't work like that, amigo. It doesn't even work like that in some crazy games like Sims, why the heck should it work in something like DA?
They're not "just characters", they're supposed to be believable. You can't just write whatever you want, it won't feel right. It's like if you want to do something good, you should do it properly. And a good character should stay true to itself otherwise it will be nothing more than a poorly written fanservice.
I'm disappointed that the character that is by far the most appealing to me is not available to me.
It's available for everyone, just make a f male character. I never gave it a thought when I started DAO, for example, I just made a male character and then Morrigan came along. I didn't even plan to romance her. And I didn't care in the end, it didn't bother me and I'm not even a male in the real life.
I'll never understand you people. If you say "it's just a game" you should be able to see through it and be able to roleplay as someone who can romance a certain character, be it a male or chantry lover or pro-circle and so on. But if you want it to be about you and your headcanon you're just being a hypocrite here.

You know, if a straight person wrote sth like this about Sera/Dorian he/she would be called a homophobe...
Maybe we all should accept that characters do not belong to us and neither do they have to pander to our preferences?
Cassandra is straight, Sera is gay, Iron Bull is bi, Varric is no-LI and that's okay. Because people are diffirent. Sure, it's understandable to be sad if someone you like doesn't like you back, but being clingy or bitter is definitelly not a good way to handle it

So now that we know Varric is out as a LI, that leaves Vivienne, Solas and Blackwall and after what Solas's voice actor on Twitter said I think 1 of them is Solas

That would also disappoint me because I have absolutely zero interest in Solas as well, so this would be yet another Bioware game where the straight male romances are uninteresting to me.
Carth, Sky, Kaiden, Alistair...
Why can't Bioware write any male romances I like, and then makes the hot butch women straight? lol

When I hear 'butch', I think of Brienne of Tarth.
Cassandra doesn't give me that same vibe.

I honestly don't see what's not butch about her, other than she wears eyeliner, lol.
And just to address whats been said multiple times now about "Just play a man/woman so you can romance who you want" that's not really a valid answer to this. I understand it's a roleplaying game, but some people don't feel comfortable playing as the opposite sex, and some people like to model their characters after themselves, that's what makes it fun for them.
I don't like re-creating myself, but I certainly don't like playing as a male character if I can help it, because the vast majority of games that get released where there is no character creation options, the lead character is male. This is a personal preference of mine, and telling me or anyone else to "just male a male character" for a game that will probably last us 150 + hours is not realistic and it lacks empathy and mutual understanding.
