Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but taking a wild guess because I've gotten nowhere in Technical Help.

 

So, I have Mass Effect 2 on Origin. Problem is, when I try to complete and auto-leave several assignments (that is, by holding the F button), nothing happens. No error message, no freezing, it just acts as though I didn't do anything. I've had this problem on at least 4 different assignments. On 2 of them, I was able to backtrack to the shuttle and get out that way, but on the other 2, that option isn't available. I've simply had to reload before landing/docking and skip the quest altogether.

 

The F key does still work as the interact/activate button. When I chatted with a specialist in the Technical Help forum a week ago, he suggested it sounded like an in-game bug, and that I should report it on the Bioware forums. Unfortunately I lost the link he sent me, so I'm guessing as to which exact forum, but that's what mods are for.

 

I've also written a forum in the Technical Help forum and send EA 2 emails regarding this, but been ignored. I haven't been able to find any information on a known bug like this anywhere, either.

 

Can anyone help?

The "leave mission" button is actually whatever you assigned to melee/close combat function (aside from Firewalker missions).

So for me it is always "X", but the prompt still says it would be the "F" -key.

I tried remapping the keys. It still didn't respond.
