im a guy and i play male characters 90% of the time. i wish they would just make a normal girl.
leliana - the creepy religious girl with a dark past she wont reveal (i need a girl who is up front and honest. none of this "oh btw i was a secret orlesian assassin," when im already commited to the relationship)
morrigan - super ****** (ive tried multiple times to bring her into the realm empathy but it never works out)
Isabella - super ****** (even by the time you guys have a relationship, she still makes jokes about sleeping around. im looking for an exclusive relationship, honey)
Merrill - completely innocent and socially retarded (stahp)
contenders -
Cassandra - Aveline 2.0 (noty)
Vivienne - im not into chicks who support the circle
Sera - the only one appealing but shes female only romance option. (crap)
then there is the female adviser too, that we dont know much about.
Normal, what does that mean?Every person has a distinct personallity.
Just because most people are used to see women in gaming be "I'm here only a sexual object with no personallity and I'm just a girl to be saved by the main hero" doesn't mean women should be represented like that in games.
You could say the same thing about male romances:
Alistar - has commitment and self esteem issues.
Zevran - same points you raised about Isabella (no pun intended, sorry I have this problem, every time I write about Isabella I have to make a sex pun)
Fenris - has a dark past and hates all mages and his biggest wish is to kill his former master
Anders - Possesed emotionally unstable mage who makes you (without telling you anything about it) help him destroy the chantry
Dorian - A rebel that rejects every single stereotype that has been thrown at him (that's the opposite of "normal in society)
Iron Bull - Same points as Isabella and Zevran.
Still, no matter the brilliant flaws these characters have, we all love them, because they're all unique. Not some "normal" generic person that's there for the main PC to have sex with. They're real people, with interesting personallities.
But, alas, I can deeply relate to the opression of the straight male gamer in video games, who just can't find...a "normal" woman.A question: What do you mean when you say normal?
EDIT: I love your Nug avatar.
