I find Warp Ammo nearly useless when I have other ammos

AP ammo gives full damage cover penetration, but that doesn't matter on any of the guns with innate penetration where Warp is always better against armor and also has a bonus to barriers.

Even on the typhoon?

 

I'm looking at my Destroyer, and I think it'll perform slightly better with the Piranha using warp ammo, but at the expense of a small drop in armour damage from the typhoon, if I'm reading kalence right.

Looks like I'll be using warp ammo on him from now on, since I tend to use the Typhoon on shields and barriers, and the Piranha against armour.

Armor weakening, double base damage on primed targets means you can dark channel and one clip an entire spawn with the PPR. It's insane the buff it gets from primed targets. Personally I still use incendiary and ap ammo more, but mainly because they gel with more kits. But saying it's useless is silly.

I find Warp Rounds to be rather good on biotic kits that aren't too amazing at self detonating.

 

Although due to bugs, Incendiary, AP, and Drill Rounds are still the best in the game.

 

This. If all ammo applications worked as intended, Warp would be right at the top.

Erm... So, what ammo do you use on your Drelldept, Me? I love me some warp ammo on pretty much all the biotic intensive kits I play - Drelldept, Fury, Slasher...

Warp ammo IV allows me to kill a brute in less than a second with the Slasher. Warp -> claymore shot with warp IV -> cluster grenade kills it outright. Even if it was just for that, they'd be pretty awesome...

I used to think warp ammo wasn't that good in comparison to the other ammo's, but it causes more damage and the armor/biotic effects help not just you but your teammates too. My default setup for platinum is the jugg with warp 4 ammo plus particle rifle and extended ammo clip. You are literally a killing machine.

The one possible exception, but It depends on the target really.  :)

 

The EB+EM AP ammo setup is better against armor only and even health / shield targets than the EM HVB Warp Ammo setup.  Against targets with barriers, or barriers and armor, the HVB setup is a bit better.

 

I tend to run AP ammo on it most of the time, but since Warp Ammo is better against banshees, then I might run that setup if I expect them, especially in a solo.

 

For most of the other innate penetrating weapons, the difference between armor piercing rating of high level AP vs armor weakening from Warp doesn't matter and the better damage of WA makes more sense than extra penetration distance (which you can also get from barrel mods that incidentally also give you some armor piercing).

U/U without a projectile weapon I use Disruptor. The only thing he is weak against is shields (and Geth stunlock in particular). Reave and Clusters take care of everything else.

Warp ammo is the most useful all around ammo for most weapons and classes when glitches are not factored in, but because they are it is behind incendiary, AP and Drill for most purposes. It still fills a niche role on classes with a biotic primer, though is reasonably effective against armor, health and barriers by itself.

The really useless ammo is Explosive, followed by Cryo. The former has no use and the latter only on certain ridiculous builds

Is that about right?

Only use it on biotics and biotics are what I play the least, so yeah, I also find Warp Ammo undesirable most of the time.

 

Actually even on some biotics (depending on what weapon I'm using) I'd rather take other stuff.

 

At any rate, AP ammo > everything.

 

Also, pandas should rule the world.

I agree with that.

 

AP, drill and incendiary rely on bugs to be more effective than warp ammo in some cases. Warp ammo reigns supreme without any bugs.

That's inaccurate. It's useless even when you *dont* have any other ammo.

Polonium III is not as good as Incendiary IV
