That's my concern, and I think ultimately that's more likely to occur. Still, it's a really nice attempt at dispelling an issue and I can't begin to count the number of times I've really wanted to say something in that thread and then remembered how many times in the past 48 hours I'd said something that further deviated the thread from its purpose and opted to keep my "mouth" shut. If there's an inkling of a glimmer of a hope this'll work as intended, and the mods don't decide to shut it down once they catch wind of it, well, I'll do my best to support it.

Yeah, this.

I realize it might not work, but the Twitter thread has problems as is. It's amazing for tweets and news, but discussing stuff there quickly devolves. I view this as an...add-on and extension to the twitter thread.

I'm a bit baffled and disappointed that people are being rude to David Gaider. It's funny that these kinds of people imagine that their actions say anything about the person they're targeting. I wouldn't say that people who disrespect the devs are really fans.

If you expect the inevitability of running into rude/imbalanced people on the 'net, I guess it can take some of the angst out of it. Especially when you have respectful, supportive fans.

Why are they being rude to him anyhow, the varric thing was to be expected based off some things from DA 2 and books from my understanding?

The most important lession I learnt on the internet is "Do not care about the unconstructive, hateful comments people make about you or your race/religion/sexuallity/etc.  with no valid reason for it"

I think they coined it themselves! It seems like a pretty popular schtick. Talimancers, Mirimancers. Myself, I'm partial to the phrase "Thanemites," but they never really appreciated my suggestion.

Now I want to build on this.

Alistairians.

Morrigamists.

Lelianolics.

Merrillians.

Isabellians.

Fenrists.

Andersi.

Sebastianauts.

Cullenites. Oh, this is already taken. Good show, Cullenites, good show.

Alright, it's out of my system for now.

I think my favorite might be Sebastianauts.

This is what I was saying before~! But then I realized I wasn't even being spoken to, so I rescinded the whole thing. But I was very much convinced you were a pinecone, so.

Concerning the mindless haters on DG;

I'm happy such things aren't happening on BSN, I think the community has matured alot over the years.

Going to edit previous post! :pinched:

I certainly think it's a pretty good community.

It devolved a lot before DA2 came out because of a lot of sturm and drang about changing styles and fears of arpg-ness and so on, and the environment was more toxic around here. But it's healing.

It's way above a lot of other internet communities. I suspect it's because it's well moderated and maybe - MAYBE - we're older than some people? Seems like a lot of fans on here go way back with Bioware. I'm 23 (soon 24) myself.

Actually, you know what would be good for this thread... to advertise it in the twitter thread. I think I'm gonna go over there and do just that.

20s is almost young in this fandom, it seems. It's certainly one of the most, if not the most, ageless video game community I've encountered and actively been party to. I turned 27 last week, personally. I've spoken with heaps of amazing BioWare fans in their 30s, 40s, 50s.

It feels good that I somehow knew if I left off with just "50s" someone would step in and prove it doesn't end there. I stand happily corrected. :P

It's neat that the fandom spans generational gaps; hopefully it will continue to do so!

I updated the OP with several videos recently posted from Gamescom and will continue to try and make this thread a handy resource for information.

Edit: OP now contains links to E3 videos from Bioware and all trailers thus far.

EP, it seems you must put manly muscles on your icon to stop the confusion. //teasing

But yes, so disappointed in anyone sending Gaider hate, like do they seriously think it makes anything better? The devs are working their tushes off to give us a great game and all some fans can do is ****** about it. They really need to just announce the final two so things like this can be avoided and people can either be happy, or crap about it and move on. //long siiiiiiigh

Is way too many A-holes on the internet who just enjoy being hateful, i generally avoid most forums when issues talking about women/LGBT come up since they always attract the worst people, simpler to just ignore.

Hey there, I am 22 myself. This forum does look like it is populated with older folks though, from the tone of discussions.

As for David Gaider, I do not see why he has to get the flak on this. The decision to make Varric attached to Bianca and no one else was, in all likelihood, a team decision, not the decision of one man.

However, I think David should be used to getting unnecessary flak for things he did not do. It is the internet and he is a Bioware writer.

Btw, Josephine sounds really good. Most likely my first choice for LI.

It would be nice to see Bioware devs to the ice bucket challenge.

I approve this thread. I've been lurking quite some time in the twitter thread and usually avoided posting there. Maybe I'll start posting more often now, if this thread won't get deleted.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT: An Ice Bucket Challenge video from Allegra Clark, whereupon she demonstrates her Josephine voice as she nominates Cullen...I mean Greg Ellis...for the challenge.
