but I'll switch them out for personal missions and where it makes sense (take Blackwall in the deeproads for example)
Iron Bull, Vivienne, and Sera.
I haven't decided between my Necro and my Dwarf for who will be first.
My Necro is pretty much locked in with Cole, and possibly Vivienne(as LI), leaving only one spot in his party. Likely will switch it up between the three warriors and see who fits in more with the character I'm building.
My Dwarf Warrior is a lot more open, because there is no Dwarf female romance companion(I'm hoping the head scout Dwarven female is an option lol) his party is a lot more open because I don't feel the need to take the LI everywhere. But with Cole being used primarily by my Necro, and me having no interest in Sera, Varric will probably find his way in to the party more than not as the rogue option. The other two spots, wide open though. Same with my Necro, I'll likely fill with those that fit the personality of the character I'm building.
Difficult to be sure, but I think I'll have Varric and Cassandra around a lot. I find them all interesting so I expect to have a varied party like I did in DA2.
I'm trying to stay away from pre-planning, want to like the characters for how they are in game not how I think they are due to some marketing fluff, but it's being really hard not to like Sera. So she will probably get a lot of time in my party.
After some recent things thinking this, Cole, Iron Bull and Solas.
I think my more usual party will be:
Inquisitor (Qunari 2H Warrior)
Blackwall
Varric
Dorian
Dorian (He'll stay in my crew forever. First playthrough, second, and so on) Sera or Varric (I'll pick funnier and more friendly character). Last one... character that is needed for certain mission. If not- Iron Bull.
Hmm tough question since I actually find all the characters interesting, but my main team for my initial play-through will mostly likely be
Myself (Human/Sword 'n shield/ tank)
Sera (ranged dps)
Iron bull (2H DPS)
Vivienne (mostly for healing)
Hard to say until I actually get to know them in the game, but my initial idea is:
Inquisitor (human warrior; sword and shield)
Cassandra (here's hoping she can do fine with a greatsword)
Varric
Vivienne
dwarf warrior
she-hulk
varric
vivienne
In any Bioware game I always like to rotate companions in & out and use them all more or less equally.
Inquisitor (male Dalish elf)
Dorian
Varric
Iron Bull
OR
Inquisitor
Solas
Blackwall
Cole
My female Human Inquisitor
Solas
Varric
Cassandra (or) Cole
EDIT: I will take these companions with me a lot but I will swap em out every now and then with someone else. ![]()

Not always but the first companion is going to be my main in that playthrough + my LI.
Human warrior = Cassandra/Blackwall - Varric - Vivienne
Elven Mage = Ironbull - Cole - Vivienne/Solas
Dwarf Warrior = Cole - Sera/Vivienne - Dorian.
Elf Rogue = Blackwall - Cassandra - Vivienne.
Everyone. I've never played a game with companions in which I haven't swapped 'em out as per growing suspicions that someone will suddenly get extra content on an upcoming mission.
This.
In any Bioware game I always like to rotate companions in & out and use them all more or less equally.
And this.
Given that many quests seem tailored to give certain companions exclusive content, I'll be switching a lot.
Though, I think my standard team will be Cassandra, Vivienne and Cole, with my Inquisitor as a male human rogue.
