I will be swapping characters regularly and will try to give everyone a chance to help out. Sometimes I may choose teams at random just to see what happens, and I may actively avoid selecting specific members in situations where they seem "right" for the mission.
I'm curious, who are IB and Blackwall? Hulk and The Thingdwarf warrior
she-hulk
varric
vivienne
Based on what I've heard so far:
Dual daggers Inquisitor
Iron Bull
Solas
Sera/Varric
And if the game really takes as long as 150 hours to complete, I'll certainly try other combinations as well.
I`ll probably going to switch the companions alot cause they all seem very interesting (and that`s what i usually do in the BW games). Also i don`t want to miss the different party banters
.
After some recent things thinking this, Cole, Iron Bull and Solas.
I'll be using this for my main party second time through, playing as a Female Qunari Knight Enchanter with Iron Bull as LI.
First playthrough will be a Human Male Noble Archer, who is loyal to the Chantry and hates magic and elves. He admires the Qun, but thinks Qunari should stay out of 'human' lands.
Party makeup will be Blackwall, Cassandra (LI) and Vivienne (he tolerates the Circle. And needs a mage).
He'll recruit and occasionally use Varric, but I plan to make him kill/not recruit the other companions, since that's what he'd do. Aiming for worst possible ending.
...Although I'm now thinking this does seem a bit extreme for a first playthrough. Might be a better idea to play Female Qunari first.
My Elf rogue, Varric, Cole, and Dorian.
Meh, who needs warriors anyway?
I'm gonna figure that out organically without pre-planning.
For me it's going to change each mission, depending on who I think I'll need and how much I like travelling with them, haha.
I'm fussy about companions; there are some I'll never take along with me and won't talk to unless I have to, such as Aveline. Zev I only talked to in camp because I was already a rogue and his skills were nowhere at the level I needed them to be. Leli I left in camp unless I could ****** her off somehow.
Everybody.. because why not. I will however always have a rogue in the party due to needing somebody to unlock those doors and chests that one finds in dungeons etc.
EVERYONE.
Inquisitor: Human Female Mage
Party: Cole, Iron Bull, Varric
I'll switch out Varric for whomever seems quest-relevant when necessary.
I will change them up accordingly, but barring any specific quests, my main party would be something along the lines of:
Human Mage Inquisitor
Cassandra
One of Sera/Varric (don't see myself using Cole. Ever.) as designated party lockpicker.
IB, or one of the mages (I like all 3)
Varric, Blackwall, Cassandra, and the Iron Oxman.
Such a hard choice.I'll prolly switch between them, this should be my pick priority (I love all of them) :
1.Dorian
2.Iron Bull
3.Varric.
4.Vivienne.
5.Cassandra.
6.Sera
7.Solas
8.I forgot who the 3rd rouge was but I remember he sounded really cool
9.Blackwall (you're awesome too
)
I believe my picks will change once I meet them in-game.
Everyone. I've never played a game with companions in which I haven't swapped 'em out as per growing suspicions that someone will suddenly get extra content on an upcoming mission.
If the same are always in the starting lineup their performance will drop ![]()
Show them they have to fight for it!!!
I'm going to end up switching them out for certain quests but my main party will probably be:
Female human mage Inquisitor
Iron Bull
Cole
Solas
Although, considering how awesome most of the companions seem to be, I can see myself switching out my party more often than I originally thought.
I use all of them. I seriously can't imagine playing any Bioware with the same characters for the whole game. I like to explore every character's story and viewpoint and being stuck with just 3 sounds very boring to me.
It's actually really hard for me to pick at this point. I think for the first time, it might be too hard to pick a standard party for the whole game.
Whoever ends up being my LI will probably get a spot in my party at least 80% of the time. I'm thinking that will be Solas, which is kinda lame cos Dorian and Viv both seem to awesome.
I'm not a fan of Cassandra, so once I get Blackwall or Iron Bull, she'll probably stay at the keep the rest of the game, except maybe on quests that seem like she'd have extra insight for.
Everyone else I'll probably just rotate in and out.

Male Inquisitor, Mage (still not sure on the race)
Cassandra
Sera
Vivienne
i always go with an all female party (with the protagonist as the exception) on my first and/or main playthroughs.
Difficult to say. As a mage I might go with
Sera
Cassandra
Solas
Although basically everyone will be new aside from varric. It might be interesting seeing what banter he has with Cass.
Euhm for me probs
myself Elf Mage
Blackwall
Varric
Cole
=)
