I originally planned on an m!Qunari mage joined by Team Problems?: Iron Bull, Varric, and Cole, but I might just roll an f!Dalish mage joined by Team LOL...No: Dorian, Solas, and Cole. I'm sure the closer we get to release, I'll change my mind again. Happens all the damned time, and I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

The moment I decide "that's gonna be my crew" I see the examples of awesomeness exhibited by other characters and return to "rugh! I want them all in my party!"

 

But, since my first Inquisitor is going to be a mage focused on offensive spells I think I'll take Varric, Iron Bull and Vivienne. Or Cass instead of IB. Or Sera instead of Varric. Or Blackwall. Or maybe Solas.... Ohh... so many options, so many possibilities...

Based on what I have seen through the convention demos and QAs and other impressions; I split the companions up by tiers.  This should allow me to sort out how I want to progress the story.  However, often times, as you play you might throw your plans out the window, but just in case I created these sets.

 

Tier 1: TEAM CORE - party banter / romance / gameplay situation / plot progression / companion story progression

3. Varric

4. Sera

5. Iron Bull

Tier 2: TEAM ALMOST CORE - companion story progression / sub-plot progression (if needed)

Not decided on my Inquisitor class yet.  My Inquisitor will most likely be human though.

My first playthrough will be as an anti-chantry mage, so main group will probably be Blackwall, Sera and Bull.

Subbing in Cole, Varric and Viv where necessary.

 

Bringing Cassandra in for anti-Templar actions could be good for comic relief though.

I'm either going to be a mage or a warrior.
But, ALLZECHARACTERS. Seriously, too interesting to decide.

Main team will depend on who I like most, but I always tend to bring my love interest everywhere. (pleaseSolas)

My third companion will always depend on that character's personal involvement (quests and sub-plots) and the setting: I wouldn't keep Vivienne from the ballroom, for example.

I will almost certainly be swapping characters out for certain missions, but my planned (could change, depending on how much I like the characters) main party is as follows:

 

- Inquisitor (Female elven Rogue) (Daggers)

- Cole (Daggers)

- Vivienne (Ranged)

- Sera (Ranged) (Bow and arrow)

Me: Close ranged rogue.

Iron Bull: Warrior

Sera: Ranged Rogue

 

Will probably always have one of each class unless if a character is important to the mission.
