Wouldn't you just rather have them finish the next ME game?

They have a big team, and they don't have to do this remaster themselves. Just give it to the team who made the PS3 version of Mass Effect 1, they did a decent job.

Rather than retyping what I said in another thread I will quote the post I wrote about what I would like to see in a remaster of the trilogy.

I think a reboot is too early for the franchise, as many have stated. I would however love to see a remaster for the games.

For ME1 I'd love to see not only a graphic update, with improved graphics and lighting but also a game mechanic update that brings like the combat and controls more in line with the later 2 games. As well as the costume/armour system that was introduced in ME2 and expanded upon in ME3. Replaying ME1 today after having played ME2 and ME3 feels a little out of place. It's a shame has the game has probably the best story out of the entire trilogy.

ME2 really only needs a small graphic update, maybe some minor side missions added in so it's not all about just doing loyalty missions that can get a little stale at times. Maybe missions which connection to ME1 and ME3 would be good. The only other thing I could think of is adding in some of the enhancements from ME3 like the improved armour choices.

Not a lot needs to be done with ME3, what I would like to see is multiplayer having no effect on the EMS readiness rating of the single player game and not so much automatic dialogue, with more character dialogue choices. The mass amount of auto dialogue in ME3 felt a little out place to me, like I was just watching a small video clip and not having a say in what was going on. I'd also like to see the final battles on Earth represent more of my choices, showing species I recruited. Rachni, Krogan, Gath, Aria's mercs etc. Expand on that mission adding more objectives would be great, missions where you might get reinforcements from these groups or you're helping a small group of these guys in doing a particular action like free prisoners, securing a location etc.

The endings, well I have seen a lot said about them, I am not a fan of them either as I wanted to have my happy ending, but I think they should probably stick with what they have a let that be an issue with any future Shepard ME game (I'm hoping the possibility of ME 5 might go there). In the meantime our own head cannon's do a good job, not to mention there are countless art and fan fictions out there that tell a good yarn about post-ME3.

Over all three games I would like an option to disable the helmet visuals but still keep the bonuses the helmet offers and not just disable the visuals in conversation but in the entire game. Like how we can for our companions/squad and it only appears on in environments where it is required. If it can be done for the NPC's, surely it can be done for our main character too. Finally I think all 3 games should have all the DLC's added in, I have bought nearly all of the ME2 ones, and all of the ME3 ones and I wouldn't go back and buy them all again. Nor do I think that's a good idea for consumer satisfaction. Alternative if they provided some sort of option where if you bought the DLC's for the original releases, you get them free in the remaster edition that would be okay at least for me.

I also wouldn't re-buy the games if it's only going to be a texture and lighting update like the Halo Anniversary games have done. Like someone else has said they are a generation or two out of date, Mass Effect isn't that old. If Bioware is just going to duplicate what 343 Industries have done, I will stick with the Xbox 360 versions, however if it's something more substantial like I suggested above I would be in for it, and happily pre-order it.

Plainly updating the tech of the games and releasing them would be nothing but lame cash grap.

What I would be somewhat interested is a re-imagined  mass effect trilogy by different team of writers and desingners.

A remaster would be nice. I own the trilogy for both 360 and ps3, but the ps3 version of me1 is so bugged I can't get through it. I can't even drive the mako without it falling into the ground and getting stuck. Fixing graphic glitches and load times would be nice. It would be nice if the pc cheat armors could be unlocked for console players. I have played it enough times to pick up on several small glitches, such as a squadmate always getting stuck behind while you explore the tunnels of Feros and is then unable to assist with combat. I have actually played my 360 version so much that now the music is warped. If the music doesn't cut out it will slow down and drop in pitch and sound like an old vhs tape. Kind of cool.

Hope they do a HD remastered trilogy for all platforms including PC, with all dlc in a bundle. I would totally buy that just for the updated ME1 graphics.

If they could standardise the UI and game combat mechanics with ME2/3's system, that would be awesome too! :)

Plus add in Kaiden's gay romance into ME 1 so it ties in with ME3 better. The dialogue is already there and many people are activating that romance in ME1 with a gender swap anyway.

I would totally buy this at full price then. ME is my favourite game series :)

Something else I think would be awesome is a fov change. Seriously, now that I have played the games so much that is really getting to me. Maybe a custom fov option, like in the latest Fallout games.

I don't see the problem with it, TLOU got updated for PS4 and released with all the DLC, MCC will be the same thing with X1.

I would only buy it if it included all DLC on the disk, had the MP, and allowed us to import saves from last gen consoles.

I had the trilogy on Xbox 360 but traded it in when I chose to go to PS4 rather than Xbox One I also traded in my Xbox 360 and games for PS3 and Ps3 versions of *most* of the games. I chose not to replace ME due to rumours of the PS4 version and am extremely eager for it to happen... as well as being great for other people who upgraded to X1 or PS4 and got rid of their old consoles/games. It'd also be a great lead into the upcoming ME4 so getting out with enough time for the trilogy to be played through before ME4 is released would be a great idea too.

So, has anyone seen this?
Apparently it was posted by Aaryn Flynn:

The thing I'd love to hear from people is what you'd like to have in such an experience. For me (personal opinion, and based on what people have told me many times before):
- 1080p
- 60 fps
- High res textures, especially on ME1
- Some shader improvements commensurate with newer GPUs
- All the DLC
- "Seamless experience" - the adventures flow into each other without having to go back to save import, menu screens, etc.
Agree / disagree? What else?
Bear in mind this is a "wish list" at this point...

What do you guys think?
Personally, I think on PC, it's not worth doing a remake like this today (maybe apart from the seamless thing).
ME1 already has 1080 resolution, high res textures and improved shaders thanks to MEUTIM. Most fans would already have all the DLC they are going to buy (although I do agree that ANY trilogy box, even the one already out should contain all DLC)
If anything, I'd like to see some re-design in certain areas, especially the side quests of ME1. Give less repetitive indoor environments. Also, the combat should be overhauled, not to change it to ME2/3 style combat but just to make it a bit more fluid with all the existing mechanics of ME1 (better animations, responsiveness, AI etc.). However, given the workload that would mean, I doubt they'll do that.
For ME2/3, I think it's way too early for a remake. Come back in 5+ years and I'll be thrilled.

Of course, this is my perspective on PC. Consoles may be a whole different matter.

I wouldn't expect wholesale changes. The games are what they are. What I'd like to see most is (outside of obvious graphical updates):

1) All import checks work correctly (ie, the Conrad Verner import bug)
2) ME1/2 no longer need points in skills to unlock other skills. Do it by levels a la ME3.

For a remaster on PS4 i'd like to see the following...

Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered PS4
- All DLC (Pinnacle Station included)
- 1080p/60fps (or 1080p/30fps but with much more effects, better lighting, just waaaaaaay more detail in the graphics)
- Higher Resolution textures
- More NPCs/Enemies on screen
- Female turians, drell, and vorcha NPCs added to ME1 for consistency
- More tools/options for creating characters
- ME1's combat replaced by ME2/3's

- Correct inconsistent CREATED Shepard facial features when importing from ME2 to ME3
- Model a consistent DEFAULT FemShep face to match across all three titles or use an actual model similar to how Mark Vanderloo was used for default John Shepard (may I suggest "Antje Traue")
- All major glitches fixed
- The option to switch between the original ending, and extended cut for ME3
- More armour customization options (colors/patterns/etc)
- Tweak ME1's inventory screen (not drastically, but in the right places)
- Incorporate newer powers from ME2, and ME3 back into ME1 (biotic charge/tactical cloak/etc)

I don't just want a remaster of the ME trilogy. I want the director's cut. I want ME1 to be improved. They should significantly change the inventory and loot system in ME1. I don't think it would be too hard, and it would significantly improve one of the weakest links of ME1.

I think ME2 should be changed too. Remember when ME2 was supposed to let you recruit any squadmate in any order? The reason they had to change this was because of the capacity limitations on Xbox 360 DVDs. Well i say, those days are over, change the game to what the original vision was, let us recruit any squadmate we want, in any order.

ME3, eh, I'm not going to ****** about the endings or anything like that. There isn't a lot that can be done here that won't rustle a lot of people's jimmies, so I say, this is the safest bet to do just a straight port, lest people start begging for the indoctrination theory ending again.

In general, I think rereleasing these games at 1080p and 60 FPS would be great, but there is a lot of room to improve the original 2 games in the trilogy that goes beyond just visual fidelity. The limitations of last gens hardware are finally gone, if you're going to remake ME trilogy, lets really get all the bells and whistles our new console hardware can provide.

Ok giving my two cents. I can see myself buying this remaster version BUT only IF:

  • It's a 1080p/60fps game
  • It has ALL the DLCs and when I say ALL I mean ALL of them. Story DLC should be integrated inside the story so that they feel like a natural progression of the plot.   Just make us forget they were DLCs in the first place
  • ME1 graphics full enhanced to be last-gen, ME2 & 3 requires some improvements too
  • Make the game plot more coherent by revising some quests of dismissed project (e.g. Tali recruitment mission in ME2)
  • Rebalance all the DLCs weapons pack
  • Add some unique content to spice up the deal. It shouldn't be something big...just one or two special quests to make this game truly unique

If all of the previous conditions are met I'm going to re-buy it full price for PS4

If and the likelyhood is that METDE(Mass Effect Trilogy Definitive Edition) is coming then they must make all the dialogue options open as a fan service so that if you botch up stuff you can still proceed how you prefer instead of racking up a pile of companion corpses. Also the DLC missions should be intergrated within each game's story arch so that they pop up at a certain point instead of just showing up from the start.

I've been reading these forums lately and some people have been saying that the next ME game will come out in Q1 of 2016? If true, then I would not be surprised if we get the METR (Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered) for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. As I said in my OP, it would be an excellent way to keep us busy but to also bring new fans into this amazing universe before their next game comes out. 343i and MS done it with Halo: The Master Chief Collection and I believe it's a brilliant idea.

Probably the guys who did the WiiU port of ME3, if the remaster actually happens.

They'd get another company to do it, like how 343i and MS get another company to do the remastered Halo games.

"Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster 'Confirmed' Apparently:" http://www.kdramasta...s4-xbox-one.htm

Another website link regarding the trilogy - http://thefusejoplin...ally-confirmed/

It may not be much at all, but I'd donate up to $10,000 USD to help with the funding.

I've been gaming for close to 3 decades on dozens of platforms, and I've never experienced such an amazing, immersive, engrossing sci-fi IP (which is my favorite genre).

The Mass Effect trilogy will always remain timeless for me.  And just like older and beloved films - such as the original Star Wars triloigy - have been (re)mastered for VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, and Blu-ray, so too should our cherished video game franchises such as the Mass Effect trilogy (and Star Wars: KotOR as well - among others) in my opinion.

Make no mistake, ME 1/2/3 had a huge and memorable impact on countless gamers worldwide.

It's one of those single player gaming experiences which only come around occasionally.

Therefore, like I said, Mass Effect 1/2/3 deserve to be remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.  They definitely deserve it - no question about it.  Please do this for us, the fans.

Morphone, that has to be one of the most well written subjective testimonials I've ever seen for a fan request, I second that!

Am replaying ME2 as a Vanguard. Vanguards from ME1 and 2 need to be updated to ME3: they are boring and tasteless once you have played ME3. ME 1 and 2 are very stiff once you enjoyed ME3 fluidity...

Why would I want to buy a remastered version of a trilogy that crushed my soul?  Just focus on making ME Andromeda.  Remasters are so stupidly unnecessary.  Especially with the way the corrupt gaming industry is churning them out by the bucket load.

They would not be making them if people didn't buy them. They are out to make money if remasters are a money maker we will get remasters.

I would buy a Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster without a second thought. Some people need to build a bridge and get over it regarding the ending.
