Hey guys. I know this is the Inquisition forum, but I figured more people probably requent here than the Origins forum, so my question would get answered quicker. Feel free to close/move/delete this post if necessery.
So, in Origins, can you NOT recruit Oghren? As far as I know, he forces his way onto your team, and the only way to get rid of him is to ask him to leave at camp.

You have to recruit him, but you can get him to leave almost as soon as you do.

Far as I can tell you have no option but to recruit Oghren, if only temporarily. I don't see how that's a big deal though, since you can ask him to leave if you REALLY want to. You are forced to recruit him again during Awakening though, even if you killed him by getting his approval low.

Why would you not want Oghren? As long as you ignore ALL of Awakening he is a cool character with some good character growth.

Oh, it's not that I don't like him, is just that some of my Warden's wouldn't want/need to recruit him

Nope, you most certainly are NOT forced to recruit Oghren in Awakening, other than temporarily during the opening events. During the visit by Alistair/Anora, when Oghren says he came to Vigil's Keep to join the Grey Wardens, just choose the dialogue option, "No, I don't think that's a good idea."
If you also opt for either of the two options that hand Anders over to the templars, after Mhairi's fail!Joining this is what the throne room looks like...
