okay, thank you. I can't imagine him as a romance option either He seems like the kind of guy who's only interested in being a grey warden, altough it'd be rather interesting to confuse him with love matters. But I still hope for Vivienne and (inoffically confirmed) Solas. ^^ Blackwall is more like the daddy type who was married, then lost his wife and children to the dark spawn and breathed vengeance before he became a grey warden...well, just a feeling. 

 

I don't know about that, but it seems to me that Blackwall would be someone close to undergoing his Calling - he's supposed to have already been an experienced Warden by the time of DAO, so that perpetual ticking clock would seem to be close to running out. Not that BioWare is adverse to the 'dying man in need of love' trope (see: Thane Krios), but it just seemed to make him an unlikely LI from where I'm sitting.

Think I'm going to stay out of the race gating talk until they announce the last 2 romance options or announce who the race gates are cause I'm all for a good debate and theory but these theories are just getting to repetitive for my patience lol its the same theory over and over lol

A few pages back people were going on about how terrible it is the characters are race-gated. Personally I really don't care. And since it sounds like a large reason for the race gates was budget concerns, and the alternative was to have less options period I'm all for it. Better to have three race gated options than two ungated ones. It would be nice, however, if we knew what those gates were (hopefully it'll be in the official game guide at least?) since I do go into a playthrough with a specific character type in mind I want to play, and who I think will be interesting as a romance for them (as many other players seem to do as well).

Edit: Also it's interesting to me that so many (or maybe it's a few but it's standing out to me) people seem to think Solas/Sera might be gated against humans. Not to say it's impossible, but it seems really unlikely. I'm not going to pretend to know what the development timeline looks like, but originally humans were going to be the only playable race in Inquisition. So, presumably most, if not all, the romances were written or at least conceptualized to be with humans. Seems odd that they'd then go through the trouble of finding 'story reasons' or even re-writing a bunch of dialogue just to gate a romance against humans.

Honestly, my Dwarven Inquisitor will probably be the only one who won't care that Bull is a spy for the Qun, so I'll definitely be doing a male dwarf / Iron Bull romance at some point.

I'd place bets on Cullen, Vivienne, and Solas. Those three have reasons for beig race gated while all other possible paramours don't have any obvious reason.
Cullen has displayed a dislike for Dwarves and Qunari; given Vivienne's character it seems possible she perfers Humans only (maybe Elves), and Solas might not be into Dwarves since they can't dream/magic.

A lot of people think maybe Cassandra and Dorian but I think Cass is more of the "strength of character is all that matters", and Dorian is a rebel towards Tevinters scoring so he would romance anyone really including Qunari

Lol, I don't even remember what exactly they said.  I'm terrible, I know. And I can't find it... oh well. I believe it was something like "He's about *this* and *this* and not about sex." Or something close enough.

And yes, somewhere they also said something like "we’ve discussed the possibility and we really want to do it but we want to make sure we get it right, so we didn’t try to attempt it with inquisition” in response to someone asking if there would be asexual characters. 

I take that he's not an asexual and not a LI. 

 

Seriously though, this means nothing. They're quoting from a MOVIE ("Kinky Boots"). David even says that in the tweet above. The whole "Burgundy is the color of hot water bottles" thing is straight from the dialogue of that movie. They weren't making any serious comment about Blackwall or his preferences. They were quoting a movie and laughing about it with eachother.

To clarify. I don't think Allan knows all the race gating restrictions. So his tweet might not of had the high amount of intent I thought it did.

Not necessarily. I know I've gone into a few games planning on romancing a character but didn't know they were unavailable. Wrex and Joker in the first Mass Effect, for me.

So? They each do different things. Allan does QA testing--he's not involved in the writing or story design. If he's not specifically told about something, Allan doesn't know about it. (I think it's part of his job to discover some things organically within the game.) He's said before that he doesn't know all the details about the romances. He's a cool dude, and I believe him.

Man B-Ware really enjoys dangling the final LIs and Race Gated Options in front of us seriously B-Ware give us the Info that way we can get any anger/dissapointment worked out of our systems before DAIs release date.

Man, what is it with you and PR talk?   Maybe it is, maybe it isn't--I'm just saying, don't assume that because someone works in some capacity for Bioware, they know everything about every part of every game. Sometimes they can be surprised, too.

Cause I've been in the gaming world since I was....younger than 6 and I've seen enough PR talk and actions to know it when I see it lol
