Am wondering if wearing the armor or clothing of an opponent will aid deception, subterfuge, and exploration for possible spies. This could be useful for the Inquisition and opponents trying to infiltrate the ranks of allies.

Constructive comments are welcome. :)

Do we even know that we can wear our enemy's armor?

If it is contextual it would be awesome. Rather than stat based(with the option to have both)

Uncertain, but it should follow the base restrictions if allowed; thus cloth disguises should be viable for everyone. Then if needed, a change to armor in a safe location perhaps could be done after getting past outer defenses.

Have the Inquisitor on a mission by him/herself that requires obtaining the enemies armor/clothing, using stealth and then finally reaching your objective. I wouldn't mind that.

Also, it could be beneficial to Leliana, Josephine, or other followers for advanced scouting to areas of questionable alliance.

That reminds me of the disguises used in the quest to save Anora in Denerim. I thought that was a fun change of pace and I think even just one little mission with some simple disguises would be awesome.

I enjoyed this, too; am hoping for something akin to this, but with more groups of enemies included. So rather than see a cutscene of Leliana being tortured, perhaps having one of the hooded cultists start aiding the Inquisition; revealed to be her.

I think that'd actually be a really cool way to introduce her, I'm kinda hoping they don't all just magically show up and be all, "Hey, we're your advisors, let's go kick some bad guy butt." Well, unless the circumstances actually make that believable, but I digress.

Edit: Also, that quest where your companions get disguises to try to bust you out of the prison is pretty awesome too, I don't know how I forgot about that.

I just watched both Sherlock Holmes movies and really want to wear bad facial hair and noses to be a tricky person.

I saw disguise and I though you guys will ask for something like the chameleon spell in the Elder scroll . Or something like Kasumi from Mass effect abilitie .

If they add a spell or an item that turn you invisible....wouldn't that be cool ?

Believe that for combat, this is already covered by Talents. However, I would like long term Stealth to be a part of advance scouting, as well as the use of disguises.

That would be a really neat quest, Elhanan.  Lots of really intriguing possibilities....

I'd like that as well!

Perhaps it could even be an option to avoid a whole set of battles if you make it through undiscovered, allowing you to save hostages. If you are uncovered - hostages dead. >:3

Oh well, we'll see.

This could prove to be really fun. Not sure how well it would be implemented for a DA game, but I'd be willing to give it a try.

Off the cuff, I would say for non-party members of the Inquisition and other non-prominent NPC's could gain a bonus to stealth and other scores involving investigations and subterfuge of the concerned territory. The party itself, and possibly Advisors would gain more dialogue related tests to see if the disguise would hold against scrutiny.

Probably not outside of specific missions, it's been mentioned that people won't notice your clothes, so you can't just put on Templar armor and slip into their camp, or steal some Orlesian mask and slip into the ball, but hopefully we have several infiltration missions.

What I am hoping is that while opponents armor and clothing will not allow the Inquisition to gain free passage, it would greatly increase the chances to slip by unchallenged, unnoticed, etc (eg; +25% Stealth, Infiltration, etc).

Seems unlikely, but I too would really love something like this. Basically, any non-combat way of resolving or avoiding problems would be great, but disguise (or at least attempts to conceal my identity) would be especially welcome.

In DAO, I really wanted to role-play a warden who was genuinely afraid of being found by Loghain, and I would have eaten up any option to take steps to conceal my identity (which, I agree, should have a chance of failure). Same in DA2 vis-à-vis the Hawke family apostate (whether the PC or Bethany). If Inquisition (or a future DA game) could deliver that, I'd be over the moon.

I liked if you were an elf in DAO that you could get the tevinter slavers to take you in as a sick elf.

Would also enjoy seeing more options such as this. Same goes for the Dwarf Commoner to get into the Provings disguised as a Noble.

I can certainly see a few "qunari inquisitor pretends to be someones bodyguard, elf pretends to be a servant" scenarios.
