Are you retconning any past stories when you play The Keep?

Because DAI allows you to manually import your DAO/DAA/DA2 stories into DAI, will you stay true and honest to what you accomplished or will you alter things to fit a certain narrative that you did not previously have in mind while playing the older games?

For me I will be doing a few retcons such as:

- In my first DA2 playthrough, Carver died in the deep roads. At the time I did not know that he could be saved by bringing Anders along to join the Grey Wardens or by leaving him behind to join the Templars. With that being said, when I do the Keep, I will set it to where Carver stayed behind and joined the Templars.

- In my second DAO playthrough, my dwarf noble did the ritual and went on to live. However, I in the Keep I will set it to where he died and the Orleasian Warden becomes the Warden Commander in DAA/Witch Hunt.

That is all I know of for now.

I'll try not to.

For example, my Warden sided with Harrowmont;the less ideal choice for dwarven success.

I might stick with that rather than go Team Bhelen.

If I do retcon a choice, its to keep as many people alive as possible for future content.

Yes. Insofar as I may not even try to recreate one of my playthroughs but instead craft the five most intriguing world-states I can think of. I haven't decided yet; waiting till I get in.

Later playthroughs of Inquisition I probably will.

I have three "important" Warden/Hawke combos that I will be as accurate as I can be on, to the point of loading up the save games and reading codex entries etc to remind myself what I did if I can't remember.

After those three, I have no complete timeline playthroughs that I am particularly attached to, so it will likely depend on how many data points there are and how many options there are for each as to whether or not I start meta-Keeping.

Like LP - the primary focus of the switchup(s) will be to keep alive as many characters as possible.

Yes, I almost always play a mage, but having 3 pcs who are mages is a little bit akward.

Not in my 'canon' world state - I want that to be exactly what I actually did.

In some of my other world states, though, I may change things. Some minor stuff - that Warden that never got around to telling the CIrcle about Dagna would have got there eventually! - and some more major. I've never been able to bring myself to let Carver die in the Deep Roads, for example, so I'll probably change one of my world states to make that happen.

I'm also going to have one whole world state that's not based on any play through of mine, made up entirely of all those decisions that were either too evil or too pointlessly complicated for me to do in game. (Or both. If I don't want Leliana or Wynne in the party, there are easier ways of accomplishing that than doing the Gauntlet with two people I'm going to kill at the end anyway.)

Nah. I lost Bethany when I played through DA2.

Hawke's gonna wear that scar.

I will be changing a few variables.  One is attempting to kill Leliana, and one is attempting to kill Morrigan.  I never actually did either.  On the playthrough where I defiled the ashes, I didn't bring Leliana.  I knew she was going to disapprove, so the warden left her at camp.  I fully intended to kill Morrigan for the choice of having my warden make a demon-child with her in exchange for his life, because that guy blamed her for his weakness in accepting an offer he knew wasn't a good one.  Then Barkspawn ran up to her with tail wagging and she bent down to pet him and my heart melted.  I couldn't do it.  It wasn't her fault, it was his.  So he wished her well and sent her on her way alone.

I could never bring myself to spare the Architect, but I'm curious to see what would have happened.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, since I'm not sure how in-depth the keep decisions are.  I've got many, many playthroughs to choose from, so I'm pretty sure I have a character for nearly any decision.

Not when I first play the game. it will be completely blind. I'll stick to my decisions and see were they go. I expect at least one or two of them to bite me in the ass. However, when I play my second campaign I will change my previous decisions to those that have an more positive outcome.

I fully replayed my main Warden-Hawke arc (again) before we knew there would be no save importing, so every choice that had to be "fixed" was already done so in-game, in that "perfect run" playthrough. I have changed my mind and done quests entirely differently the second or third time around with these characters, yes, because I was too nice and goody-good in my very first playthrough but later figured out the alternative outcome befit that Warden's or that Hawke's personality much better. But this storyline is pretty established at this point, nothing else I need to fix.

My second main import world, though, is a mess, because of that glaring issue of having all of my Ultimate Sacrifice Warden's choices erased by using a Orlesian Warden in Awakening. I had to play this storyline's Hawke from a Gibbed generate save, just to get the relevant scenes and quests in DA2, but that's no solution. This time I really just want to assimilate dead!Warden's choices, Orlesian Warden's choices, and their respective Hawke's into one single, cohesive storyline that my Inquisitor can actually follow. Hurray for the Keep!

I will for sure.  I can't even remember what I did in what save anyway,  I'll just build it the way I want events to be for each play through.

Ahh see, that is something I'll change. I lost Bethany as well, and I loved her character. I'll keep her around. Hawke on the other hand can bite the sharp end of a stick.

Well, y'know, there's every chance Bethany won't show up in Inquisition regardless, methinks. Hopefully for your sake she does! Or at least, does eventually.

I loved Bethany as well, just for the rec. :P

I'd do it just for a reference.

Maybe a little. I rushed through both game on my first playthrough and missed allot of side content. So I'll probably say I did some quests that I didn't do just to see what the outcome will be. there is also stuff I just don't remember like others have said.

I don't think I'll change any major things but maybe I will in later playthroughs.

Yeah I more than likely will, especially for small but interesting things I may not have foreseen being referenced in this game, won't want to wait for a future playthrough to see them.

Uuuh..not intentionally my first run but I might not remember everything perfectly.

And I am going to import a few "huge terrible decisions" runs I didn't do/finish.

I won't really have to. I have so many playthroughs that I've tried pretty much everything. But I do want to make one of my saves world states have the Warden sacrifice themselves and an Orlesian Warden take over for Awakening (since that's not possible to do in the game itself). None of my Wardens have ended up dying due to me wanting to go through the Awakening decisions with them before importing to DA2. So that's going to be cool. Other than that I'm going to stick through my decisions with each Warden.

Wait, did they confirm direct imports without the keep?
