[Quarian Master Race]

It was the greatest thing ever. Was playing on Rio/Gold as quarksman. Saw a phantom next to an atlas and a couple goons near the EZ spawn at the end of a later wave. Attempted to scan the Atlas so my derp teammates would remove it's shields while I took care of the Phantom and goons, but the phantom waltzed out from her cover into my scan. A split second and some random friendly gunfire later, she was dead and the killfeed registered it as my kill with the weapon being Tactical Scan.

I can die happy knowing that I ventilated one of those bosh'tets with my mind using quarian space magic. Does anyone else have experience with something similar? Everyone knows Tacscan kills swarmers, prime drones, near death mooks etc., but I have never actually killed something as tough as a phantom with it before. What are the conditions for this to happen?

Where was this on Rio? Normally powers only ohk enemies at part of the container end but it wouldn't surprise me if there were more places like that.

Near the EZ, the spawn area with the pillars and that translucent glass. Basically the opposite end of the map

Play Firebase Rio, and let the map work specifically as it was designed to.

I love how BW "fixed" other maps to stop certain... ahem... play styles, then released this abomination.



This map is the #1 reason I stopped searching for games with consumables on...

The biggest thing I took out with a tac scan was a Dragoon that I scanned just as he was getting fried in the reactor. Getting a Phantom is pretty impressive, serves that cheating space ninja right.

Rio wasn't my choice, it threw me into it when I searched UUG. Still, round actually went okay. I had a half decent Senturian with me and a couple of skrubs not worth mentioning.

Most people on PS3 gold seem to not know about the box of shame so the map is somewhat playable. It's only when you get thrown into Rio while pugging plat that you will usually get 2+ puggernauts sitting in it with their LOLshields pretty much every time. Either that, or the famous Giant/Reapers EZ camping pro setup.

Nonetheless, I can now thank this horrible glitchfest of a map for giving me my best kill yet. I just have to figure out how to repeat it and start wiping phantom death squad spawns.

Please forgive me for going a little off-topic - I haven't killed a Phantom w/ Tac Scan, but I did finally get an Atlas to sync a Phantom a few nights ago. Man tears of ecstasy were shed that night.

Tac Scan does some stupidly low damage upon cast. You could've just gotten the last attributable damage on her. Sabotage and ammo powers are unattributable kills that would assign the kill to the last damaging source.

Can't remember the enemies involved but I've gotten kills with Tac Scan and Supply Pylon more than once.

I got an Atlas to take out two Guardians with a missile. It was awesome.

you can by actually looking at the layout of map and form your tactics on dealing with the enemies. you have to lure your enemies around the map to see what works, what don't. it's essential to beat the waves that spawn and to really break through the idea of "oh noo it's too much I can't beat them!" mindset by noobs whom might have joined your lobby during the match.

This happened to a friend today, he shot a Swarmer and got an Assist medal.

 

We figured out that my Arc Grenades thrown at Ravagers were priming the Swarmers inside who hadn't popped out yet.  So they were tagged by my grenades but immune to actual damage at the time.  When he shot them it attributed the kill to Arc Grenade.

I suspect kills like this are caused by an enemy dying to the damage caused by ammo, with the kill being attributed to the last thing that hit the target (tac scan in this case).

 

I killed a scumbag prime with Tac scan back in July, Mako can confirm it.
