She is definitely around. Someone spotted a reference to Artificer Dagna and asked a dev about it. She works in Skyhold creating gadgets for the Inquisition.

Q!
I'm currently playing an lawful good dwarf on Baldur Gate. I'm hoping to finish him before Inquisition comes out. He's kind of how I'm going to play my character in Inquisition, following the laws of the world.
Oh! Maybe we could get Blackwall exclusive dialogue too, since the Grey Wardens are so keen on dwarves. Could be awkwardly amusing too, since Cadash is a surface dwarf and doesn't necessarily have to care about the Deep Roads/darkspawn at all.
Blackwall: Yours is a noble people. Once, I encountered a regiment of the Legion of the Dead. I cannot imagine a more honorable group of people.
Cadash: Hah! You mean the Legion of the Dreadfully Boring? If you ask me, they're an embarrassment to our race. Who just gives up on life like that, when there are so many elves to smooch and vintage wines to taste?
Blackwall: ....
Veela you do your Dwarven kin proud ha ha that was hilarous. ![]()
I can see my Cadash having that exact mindset.
I just hope we can decorate our keeps in true dwarven style!
Playing as a surfacer though will be interesting

Oooh, I wonder what possibilities that could be. Statues of Paragons? Nugs, everywhere? Just the general architecture?
...what if we could put up a Paragon statue of our Dwarf Warden?
And then they come to Skyhold and are like "....do I really look like that?"
(obv that's not going to happen but it'd be hilarious)

I feel that the warden was an surfacer in a way, until the end when he was allowed to return home. I would like to play a dwarf that is needed to go out into the surface, but with the permission of his people. Like maybe we were sent to the Chantry meeting to restock lyrium.

I'd love that to bits.
And while I know we can't I'd love it if we could choose what paragon gets put where, like in our companions areas
Varric: Not that I mind seeing a dwarf lady in my room, but I hoped when it happened she wouldn't be carved out of stone

No nugs, unless we can gag them. I wanted to roast Smooples and give him to the dwarf as a snack the first time I let Leliana have him.
After playing the two previous games as human mages IMMA roll full on dwarf for my first playthrough .
CADASH FO LIFE!!!!

Definitely playing a dwarf first. Just not sure if it will be a tank warrior, or a damage dealer warrior. Yes it's sad that dwarves are treated like the red headed step children of this series. Hopefully that changes in future games.
Actually I love how everyone dogs the Dwarves but in Origins their Origin Stories were the best ones and some of the the best characters in all the games were Dwarfs Ohgren,Sigrun,Shale,Sandal & Varric.
Dwarves FTW ![]()

Agreed! Though I'd as soon dump Ohgren in Lake Calenhad and leave him there, I adored Shale and the others. Even Leske was an interesting character (and interesting plot twists.)
Leske, awww, Leske.
My Brosca totally understood why he "turned" on her, but it was still devastating, and I'm bummed I didn't get any options to talk to her friends about how she just, ya know, had to murder her best friend. They just kept on cracking jokes about dwarves.
I had such high hopes for Leske! I would had invited him into my house that our warden earned when he/she became an Paragon.

Mine did too, I'd never have trusted him anyway, but I kind of felt bad that he had to jump into bed with Jarvia to save his own neck.
Yeah, that was one of those situations with "gee, my friends are SO sensitive." That and when you talk to your drunk, abusive mother in front of them...

Though that was one of Morrigan's better moments, if she's with you when you meet your mother again. "We have more in common than I thought."
The dwarf commoner was the second character I played, after my Dalish Elf.
After that point, I figured I should stop getting attached to my character's origin story childhood friends. :S

Yeah, Tamlen, Leske, Shianni, Soris, Iona, Dairren, Jowan, and pretty much your whole family as a DN. The worst was Fergus's son.
Well, in the Aeducan origin, Gorim lives! Are he and Jowan the only origins companion/friends that live (and you see again)?
(Although that's not sunshine and rainbows if your fem!Aeducan did the mini-romance and he broke your heart, that knave....but uh, I've probably ranted enough about that on the forums recently. GORIM!!!!)

Don't worry son, you'll see a sword up close real soon. - Fergus Cousland

Hah, that was just awful. Depending on how soon you go to Denerim, it may not have even been two months you've been gone, and he's already gone and shacked up with someone else. ![]()
At least Tamlen still pining for the female Dalish Warden, when it comes to origin story mini-romances. Would've been miffed if he ran off with some Darkspawn lady or something while in ghoul-form. :S

My Brosca was the only one of my Wardens thrilled at the option to become one and she's also the only one who actually liked Duncan. She thought he was funny, if a bit strange and confused because he didn't understand the Castless. Probably the only non-Castless in the entire opening who was kind to her.
When Duncan recruited her, she was pretty much "You hear that, Orzammar! SUCK IT!" and then utterly failed to get on with Wynne in their first meeting once she was on the surface. ![]()
Aeducan, I didn't bond quite as much with her. But, I did enjoy having the ability to have people executed.
Orzammar politics, man. They're brutal.
I'm looking forward to rolling up a Cadash, probably a rogue as they're my favorite class. I'm looking forward to hanging out with Varric as a dwarf... or just in general, really. The bromance must take a new form!
@ Cespar, yea I saw that screen shot! I had to look at it twice to realize that was it was a dwarf, especially given that he is the same height as Varric if not a wee bit taller. Of course I find I have a short attention span and when I come to this place I may randomly play in the sun light coming through the window then "OH look a Skull!"...no wait its deep mushroom...I think...( that white thing behind cassandra).
@ Nightwolf667, I too look forward to hanging out with Varric as a dwarf and wonder at what banter we can have!

Yea!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who mistake things for deep mushroom or Elfroots. At first I wasn't too sure either, but now I just think that the person that was playing took the picture with the game angle kind of down, so they could show the upper part of the ruins. I'm not sure if I'll make Hawke rival with Varric or not, lol. I want my dwarf to be his best bud!!!

Gorim probably comes out of things better than any of your other friends
I did the mini-romance, but my Aeducan was a very self-assured princess who immediately took up with Alistair, let him break up with her when she made him king (because she wasn't going to be anyone's mistress) and went back to camp to trigger the romance with Zevran. I actually played her ending twice, from the point of the Dark Ritual, once she lived, once she died. When she lived, I found it hilarious at the coronation to have Gorim, Alistair AND Zevran in the same room, and to mildly tease both Alistair and Gorim about "sorry we ended it" then go make plans with Zevran. I like to imagine the two of them going back to Orzammar afterwards. ![]()
