I remember seeing that. It's part of the dialogue with Josephine early on when Cadash discusses religion with her. Here's a partial conversation:

Josephine: "They explained that dwarves believe Stone is 'alive,' that good dwarven souls return to it in death. It was interesting, even if the Chantry mothers found it less than amusing."

[3. I believe in the Stone] Cadash: "I may be casteless, but underground, I feel a connection with the Stone."

Josephine: "We should be discreet about that. You are already an anomaly to the Chantry."

 

Also:

 

Josephine: "Were you only smuggling, at least? Exchanging a few goods on the surface?"

[5. Why the surface?] Cadash: "What makes you think I've never been to Orzammar?"

Josephine: "I thought you were without a caste? It was my understanding that dwarves born on the surface are casteless, and barred from Orzammar."

[3. I've been there many times.] Cadash: "Only officially. I've been to Orzammar hundreds of times. The Carta knows how to ask people to look the other way."

I always went with the third choice,  .

Blackwall and Dorian hate each other, and I just sitting here with Varric watching the arguments. This is my first time having an all men group, which I usually never like. I always need that one girl in the mixed, but then again, I'm also doing same-sex for the first time. This play-through make me want to go back and try the other ones, but I don't anyone could match the wits of Dorian.

Hang in there. The conversations with Blackwall and Dorian become rewarding after a certain point in the game. All conversations with Varric are awesome by default. =p

Blackwall and Dorian's evolving relationship was the most rewarding thing, haha. It was really stressful for Hella, having her bff and bf being so at odds, but the payoff is amazing.

The funny thing about Dorian is how much wittier our Inquisitors are all of a sudden. You can totally tell when Gaider is doing the writing. =D

Much better. I really dislike the Isabela-Aveline relationship, tbh, but Dorian and Blackwall's is much better IMO.

HOW DO YOU GET THE LETTER FROM THE WARDEN???

 

Hella never got it, as far as I know. I really wanted a letter from Brosca.  I keep hearing about it. Is it tied to the Leli quest that I can't seem to trigger? 

 

 

THIS IS A THING?! I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS A THING. Is there a letter? What does it say? Does Brosca get something similar?

It happens after Adamant. Leliana wants you to try and establish contact with the HoF, who has been hard to trace and wasn't at Adamant. This opens up a war table mission in Ferelden called Contact the Hero of Ferelden and upon completion you're given a personal letter by him/her

 

Brosca's would no doubt be far more sympathetic towards Cadash, given the backgrounds of the two. But an Aeducan's is great because there's no hatred or vitriol in it like most nobles would give towards surfacers/casteless/Carta.

 

It's very endearing on its own. More so with my headcanon towards the two respective Dwarves.

Morrigan will also suggest that she can send him a message, though whether that option was dependent on not doing Contact the HoF I don't know.

Okay, I have to vent about this and I guess here is the place where. I'm so excited to play a lady dwarf but then I remember their romance options and it gets pushed down the list. It's an endless cycle of hype and cold bucket   I know eventually I'll get over it and just make my amazing dwarves anyway, but alas.

No I feel you. I have finished the game completely and I still think a Solas-Cadash romance would work so well, and they seemed to be like, painfully in love anyway, I just headcanon it happened in the Fade every night or something, but it totally happened.

I actually got resentful on behalf of my dwarf when playing my elf when she got to kiss Solas. I'm a mess, haha. I got over it, obv, and I'm very happy with the Blackwall romance but.

Solas and Cass. Should have been for Lady Cadash. Nods firmly.

Sweet baby jesus I hope somebody takes a screenshot of that letter. Or letters? I don't know if there's different versions for Aeducan/Brosca.

 

Give me about 20 minutes. I actually took screenshots of it when I got it because I was so giddy.

Oh Bioware devs!! I just had a banter between Varric and Dorian. He thought that Cassandra and Varric had a thing, but Varric said no. So Dorian basically said your book told differently, and then Varric said do not get him mixed up with that crap "Hard in Hightown 2." I'm noticing a lot of put downs on Dragon Age 2. I guess it'll be a running joke. Like when Isabella told Alister "Don't we all look different," or something like that.

Ah never mind vertigomez. I saw someone beat me to the punch on the Aeducan letter. If I had a completed one for my Brosca I would've seen what the difference was. But no Brosca for me.

Yeah, same here about Josie's, but I think I might be able to do it, I don't know. Not sure I can do Sera's but I'm still considering it. Too bad I can't get interested in playing a guy dwarf - would have no problem finding a romance for one.

Don't feel bad. If it bothered me, I wouldn't do it. I see it as a chance to enjoy the awesome that is Dorn again. He's my canon and so far still my favorite Inquisitor, and I'm on my fourth one now (one for each race). I intend to replay him fully anyway after the first round or two of patches are out.

I'll keep that in mind. Viv is the one I'm having the most trouble warming to, honestly, so I'm not certain I'd want her in my party on a regular basis.

I'd like to hear more about the Stone. It may be an actual thing rather than simple dwarven myth/philosophy.

I'll keep that in mind. Viv is the one I'm having the most trouble warming to, honestly, so I'm not certain I'd want her in my party on a regular basis.

 

As a character Vivienne's great but as a person I'm having a hard time warming up to her as well. One person at Haven summed it up well: to that person, she says the right things but seems to lack the actual belief behind them, as if she was just using the words to curry favor without believing in them herself.

 

Beyond that, a lot of what she seems to say to the other characters tend to be put-downs.

 

And yet, she and my Cadash get along well. She doesn't put him down.

 

...not too much anyway, unless you're taking her to Halamshiral. Then she says "you didn't embarrass yourself as much as I thought you would". Which is... kinda a backhanded compliment I guess? But then Orlais is rife with that so she's not the singular entity who does that.

 

Doesn't help that it's hard to really curry her favor.
