No. There was this one zone that was just awful because of all the levels that you couldn't tell if it was on the ground, the middle, or top of that impossibly high rock. It was a small zone, yeah, but STILL. I'd rather get the spread out ones since I can at least ride the nug mount for a bit.

IT HAS HANDS. HANDS.

I loved the Horsemaster's reaction to it. And they're adorable and vicious looking.

Still sad there's no Bronto mount though.

Goes without saying! Dwarf laaaaaaadies. We always need more.

I also like the mosaic dwarf. Gatsi? I haven't finished any yet so I haven't heard much from him...does he talk more if you do?

No clue, I've yet to finish one either. Some of the mosaic pieces are scattered in different areas however. There's also the Dwarven Bartender. He's pretty funny. I died when he said this.

"I heard the Arishok was replaced by the Arishok. He better be careful. In the shadows, the Arishok."

Here's the Brosca comments. No Branka in this import. The Bhelen comments are the same as above:

So my next goals are: replay until I can get the Harrowmont comments and cap those, and put in a Branka + Harrowmont import (gonna use a non dwarf Warden, cuz I don't know if those comments would replace a Branka comment). MUST KNOW ALL THE DWARF THINGS.

I have to say I enjoyed hearing the Dwarves say King Aeducan a few times rather then King Bhelen. Makes me giddy for my headcanon (that I talk about incessantly it seems :P)

Really? What were the comments for Harrowmont and Branka?

ME!!!! I loved talking to Dagna after Adamant.

This is what I got for my Aeducan/Harrowmont PT:

I never finished any of them. Was short one or two pieces on most of them so next time I play, I'm just gonna print out a list of where they are and check them off accordingly.

Damn. I knew Harrowmont was incompetent but it's always nice to see it firsthand rather then through the epilogue slides.

I was really happy about the Harrowmont stuff, because my headcanon for Olim Cadash is that he was born in Orzammar, and exiled to the surface as a tween and a lot of the way I conceived his worldview was taken from the idea of a Harrowmont ruled Orzammar....and the game backed it up pretty nicely.

Hearing about food shortages and riots was also a very timely reminder for Olim, who was getting a bit too cocky and smug playing the game, about the realities of how political machinations and nobility effect people.

Harrowmont was too traditional for me, but is there a reason not to side against him as Aeducan?

Harrowmont was too traditional for me, but is there a reason not to side against him as Aeducan?

Aside from how he's incompetent? :P

In all seriousness, one could be suspicious of him as they are of Bhelen. Bhelen's accusation isn't stretching it (even though I believe Bhelen imported a kingkiller to hasten along Endrin's death. And as the game showed us, someone else got poisoned from said kingkiller) as Harrowmont was beside the king's side all the time. And while yes, Harrowmont is a staunch friend of Endrin's, one must remember that in Dwarven society the appearance of honor is paramount. Though Bhelen has his own schemes, you have nothing to suggest Harrowmont doesn't other then "Well, my father trusted him."

And to be honest, Endrin was a poor king himself.

I know that before the crowning of the king one can hear that Bhelen would increase trade, which is a mark in his favor. But I don't recall what Denek Helmi says about Harrowmont nor what Nerav Helmi (who supports him) says about it.

I know Zevran has a comment about him though. In regards to how Baizyl and the other guy aren't fighting due to blackmail or intimidation, Zevran says "This is to be your king? A man who cannot keep his own men from running like frightened children?" and then questions why they should seek Harrowmont out if he's too scared to even grant them an audience.

But for that part, the one about an audience, Vartag uses the same excuse. So for Zevran to call it out for Harrowmont and not for Bhelen just smacks of hypocrisy. And it's why I absolutely loathe the forced dichotomy Bioware gave us for Orzammar as a DN. It's geared far too much to kissing Bhelen's ass, despite the cultural precedent taht would allow a DN to reclaim their birthright and take the throne.

Hence my headcanon ^_^

There's an Inquisition perk you can get that'll end up marking them on your map.

My main Aeducan sided with Bhelen.

She couldn't kill Trian fast enough, and then when Bhelen outplayed her she was FURIOUS but also impressed, because she didn't think he had it in him. She crowned Bhelen because at least he was an Aeducan, Harrowmont was just a little toad, and she had begrudging respect for bhelen's cleverness..

Speaking of killing Trian...

Based on a few moments in the game (namely the Gauntlet conversation with "Trian" and Duncan's kinslayer comment), I think I favor the DN knifing Trian rather than being framed. Either way Bhelen takes you for a sucker, but it's extra angsty if you actually kill your own brother. (And possibly two of them, by the end of it.) You can be as remorseful or unapologetic as possible... hmmm, decisions...

Damn me and my "white knight" complex.  I just can't bring myself to knife Trian.  I like to play my Aeducan Warden as a bit naive when it comes to politics.  He knows that others are playing him, but he's too noble to do the dirty work and has hope that things will work out for the best in the end if he chooses the diplomatic and honest approaches.  He also can't bring himself to put Bhelen on the throne.  He caused the death of Trian and Endrin.  He can't be rewarded for that.

Stupid boring noble Aeducan.......

 Well, doesn't Bhelen say that Trian's plotting your death? Could be your DN is just afraid, and strikes out in fear more than anything. That could still work with the whole "generally a decent fella" schtick.

'Course I'm not the best person to ask about all this. I love the DN origin but I can't play an Aeducan for ****! I end up making them irredeemable arsholes or painfully stupid and ignorant pampered pooches... lol.

Someday I'll find the perfect balance between that and an intellectual bruiser type...

Noble Aeducan isn't boring to me! I think people expect Aeducan to be savvy and possibly ruthless, so I'm always happy to see good hearted naive Aeducans. :)

There's no wrong way to roll a dwarf, IMO.

I've had multiple games with Aeducan and Brosca that picked both kings (although I can't remember my RP reason for picking Harrowmont on a Brosca -- I mainly wanted to see different dialogue with Rica). Why did I keep Harrowmont canon for Aeducan? There is that "father liked him" angle. Harrowmont was also warm in the game and gave Gorim access to Aeducan to tell her about the Grey Wardens. Sure, he could have poisoned the king, but why not just let Aeducan rot in jail instead giving her a chance at freedom? There was also this small hope that I had on my first PT that I'd return home after defeating the Blight and get my throne back, especially with Harrowmont in poor health. Anyway, a life for a life -- Harrowmont did her a favor letting her find the Grey Wardens and that personal debt was settled with him having the throne. I didn't have Zevran with me so I didn't pick up on all the foreshadowing as much as I should have.

Bhelen's "the ends justify the means" approach bothers me -- his immediate execution of Harrowmont (ignoring his sister's request), destroying all those who opposed him, and his relentless pursuit of wiping out Harrowmont's lineage well into DA2. Orzammar is in trouble regardless of who is on the throne though. I'm sorry to hear it's worse with Harrowmont, but no regrets on a player level. It's always possible there will be a gotcha moment in DA4 or DA5 or DA6 where the writers will turn around and cackle, "You thought Bhelen was the smart choice all along, but here are the dastardly consequences for choosing a ruthless dictator! Watch Kal-Sharok CRRRRUUUMMMMBBLE as he conquers their territory!" Well. A small part of me still wants to see Bhelen get played, however long it takes. =p

 Well, doesn't Bhelen say that Trian's plotting your death? Could be your DN is just afraid, and strikes out in fear more than anything. That could still work with the whole "generally a decent fella" schtick.

Remember that Aeducan was also trained to be a commander and lead an army. You could RP him as a general leading troops into the Deep Roads to beat back the darkspawn in order to reclaim the lost thiags and restore the empire. I saw my Aeducan as Duncan 2.0 so it was easy to focus on the battle and leave the politics to the others. The goals of the dwarven army and the Grey Wardens dovetail very nicely.

Oh wow, I didn't know about being able to hear about the situation in Orzammar at the Winter Palace.I def need to check that out.

Thanks for that. It was interesting to see the glimpses of what was going on, but also frustrating b/c I want to know more.

I may need to revisit my world states in the Keep. I can't allow the dwarves to suffer.
